If you're looking for a game similar to "Super Motherload," "Ad Fundum" is, in my opinion, a better version. It does many things similarly to the aforementioned game, but offers several improvements, more variety, and some quality-of-life enhancements.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 25 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 10 places towards #1, and the 2,413 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.
It's a better version of Mother Lode, the old flash game banger. 3 hours in and I feel like I'm less than half way. Great level design, super good pacing and it's got good upgrades, priced just right to get that 'one more run' syndrome.
Old flash classic reimagined.
If you happened to play flash game called Motherload back in the day, and are looking for a game to scratch the same itch you just found it - Ad Fundum is a great successor to that old gem of a game. I didn't play the demo, grabbed the game at the tail end of sale and went in with expectation of similar game to Motherload, maybe a 1:1 recreation but nothing more. To my surprise this game delivers, beside addition of temperature there is a number of upgrades, scattered across multiple biomes, each occupying specific depth. The mining is almost perfect, there are few minor places to improve, such as ability to move without digging, since manoeuvring around hazards happened to kill me - mining kind off snaps you to a block, and when you want to go into a hole in front, of you, you might mine into say lava on the wall beside the hole. - I did die few times to this. The save system is simple - game saves whenever you go to surface, and you will do it every +/- 30 minutes to avoid earthquakes. There are few easter eggs too, I got a chat for going crazy with the beams (that prevent your tunnels from collapsing). The game has many settings to tailor your experience to be as relaxing or challenging as you like, there is a lot of upgrades for your mech, good albeit minimalistic story with nice art... and even new game+, which I did not expect, but at that point game turns into almost-god mode. It took me roughly 22 hours to get full completion, I only needed to look up one achievement. I highly recommend, I would have bought it for full price knowing how good it is.
its just a better version of Motherload. i got exactly what i expected. good game.
Seems okay, early days but it has many of the things I like in a digging game. It also has a story, and some NPC's for you to talk you, which fleshes things out. I love good fluff. I like that the mech I mine with can move up, some games don't have that, though you can't dig up, which is fine. There are a few things I don't understand, like support braces, not sure yet what those are for. But there are a lot of things you can upgrade, both your mech and you base. And the story drives you, which is nice. I just wish the controls were a little tighter, my mech digs where I don't want it too, all to often. A separate control for move and dig would be nice. All in all, one thumb up now, might come back and adjust it. ADDENDUM: over six hours in, still having fun. The controls are a bit touchy, but it keeps bringing me back. ADDENDUM: 31 hours in, and I really have enjoyed the ride. Closing in on the final room. I guess some achievements require you start a new game, might even do that! And easy two thumbs up at this point, actually sad it is almost over. CORRECTION: It's not a new game, it's a game+, you keep all you have done, and there are new upgrades available! Every nice...
