Fun game, with beautiful and balanced stages, difficult bosses but getting the correct powers they are easy.
That you find a different platform game when you can switch the character and can do a lot of things like attack, fly, protect of shoot, swim and stuff... this game is perfect, simmilar to The Lost Vikings. The art and audio is so beautiful and very polished. I recommend it. :)
4 The Elements is a action platforming game. While it is listed as a metroidvania, it's more akin to something like Mega Man X. There are four levels and there are power ups in each of them. There are areas that may require a power up from a different level in order to access, and you are rewarded with another power up or collectible. It doesn't open up large new sections of game to explore like one would expect from a metroidvania, or is the revisiting of stages required to advance the plot, so to put it simply I would call it an Action Platformer only. You begin by learning about your situation and the four characters you control, each of a respective element. You can change between them at will and each have their own positives and negatives to their use. Fire and Water are good for fighting, while Air is good for platforming and evading danger. I felt however that Earth had very limited use as she could not jump and could barely walk, and her shield only had minimal utility (which is under-minded by an ability Air gets later on), so she's relegated to solving particular puzzles. The characters each have distinct personality and there is a lot of quality banter between them. It's enjoyable to watch them interact with each other. Bosses can be tricky, but it may be in part to the order in which you do them in as well as understanding the boss mechanics. One thing I would like to mention is that bosses may seem to have a lot of HP at first, however, those tough bosses have ways to be broken and knocked down for a short time where you can inflict heavy damage to them. This was not particularly made clear as first and so I thought bosses had simply too much HP, but after understanding that fact, defeating bosses became much easier. I think my toughest issue is getting used to the amount of swapping that is required to control each character for each purpose. I feel that the characters are meant to cover for each others weaknesses but in practice it can feel like taking a completed character and separating everything into four incomplete ones where one can fight enemies, one can jump, one can avoid danger, etc and if you aren't in the right form or can switch to it efficiently then you may be suffering for a while (as switching can take some getting used to as you try to instinctively switch between characters quickly by remembering which d-pad position is required to change into them). In a future game, I'd like to see each character be playable in their own way, but not be so cripplingly ineffective at basic tasks like walking and jumping (I'm sorry Earth). The game did have a lot of bugs when I played. It was very interesting to find some of the things I did in my review stream. However, nothing was game-breaking to where I was unable to complete the adventure or was held back by any of these bugs. Most were mere graphical oversights. The game was good for what it was, an action platforming game, but there's a lot more that needs to be done for it to become a Metroidvania. I look forward to how things change in the future.
the control is really annoying me
Mito, é jogo é top, ansioso pra jogar a versão portátil.. Let's Go
NOSSA NAO GOSTEI TUDO BUGADO TRAVANDO TUDO VIU!!!? NAO GOSTEI TA TEM MUITOOO BUG E É ISSO
