Navigate through political turmoil as you make the hard choices needed to guarantee humanity’s place among the stars. But really the choice is yours. Don’t like the Protectorate? Pick a different faction, and wipe your opposition off the face of the galaxy.

Orbital weapons, nuclear strikes, mechs are just some of the ingredients you get to play with. Ally yourself with the right parties, build out your force, and protect the Orion sector.
A Caelo Ad Terram.
For centuries the Protectorate have been the stalwart defenders of humanity’s ventures through the Orion Arm, guarding against enemies foreign and domestic of the United Earth Spheres. As humanity’s galactic infrastructure teeters on the brink of collapse over a deficit of the resource “flux,” the Protectorate brings honed tactics and heavy firepower to bear. Field veteran commandos to deep strike enemy positions, or bring the heavy firepower of your mech divisions to break enemy lines.
Grow. Expand. Exterminate.
The Grell are a tide of highly evolved plant-like creatures that spawn sites of raw flux crystals through the galaxy, and humanity’s first contact with alien life. As external powers dive deeper into exploiting flux for faster than light travel, the once passive Grell have begun to flood across worlds, wiping out those who would threaten their biosphere. Expand your blooms by spreading the roots of your biomass across the battlefield, and rip apart your enemies with twisted evolutions from the acidic Harbinger to the rampaging Reaver.
Across a Million Worlds, We March.
The Legion of Truth are a fanatical empire from beyond the reaches of known space, devoted to their Emperor and a pantheon of god-like beings. Their armies crusade across the cosmos, bringing all in their path under the Idals, and purging those unwilling or unable to accept the voice. Drown your enemies with waves of expendable Thralls and Fanatics, and break your enemy under the treads of the titanic Terror Tank, a mobile fortress that can reconfigure with the tide of battle.
For Purpose. For Survival.
The Xol are civilization of autonomous robotic consciousness, brought to the brink of extinction by the dark crusade of the Legion. Though fiercely individualistic, they are united by one imperative: survival. As the tide of annihilation turns against them, the Xol will bring the most advanced robotics technology in the galaxy to bear, wield the accumulated genius of their society, and wipe out all who threaten their future.
Rank to become the dominant battle group in the sector as you take part in a living, breathing galaxy shared by thousands of real players. ZeroSpace is obviously not a finished product yet, but it's good enough for early access imo. This game has so much to offer already. The Galactic War game mode is engaging (although not fully implemented yet—there's still a lot of unrealized potential). Co-op missions are fun. There's a campaign with 11 missions where your choices matter. PvP has a TON of strategic depth, with your main faction and mercenary faction both contributing to choices for heroes, talents, units, and top-bar abilities. Unit and upgrade choices matter, and there's a high skill ceiling with all of the abilities you can use in a fight (most units have at least one active ability). Downsides: - Performance doesn't feel optimized. When there's a lot happening on-screen, frames drop to single digits. - You will encounter bugs.

THE GOOD: Possibly the most viscerally satisfying RTS I've played since Starcraft 2. Units are responsive. Dealing damage feels awesome. Pathfinding is great. Spells and abilities are intuitive and snappy. The funny thing about this genre is that in a lot of modern RTS, the fun needs to come from sort of a meta-level, where you've executed a plan well, or you see your stuff cover the map, rather than from moment-to-moment clicks. ZeroSpace nails the moment-to-moment clicks. The simple act of attack-moving a blob of guys into the enemy base - one of the most basic things in real-time strategy, yet something that so often feels bland - is addicting as hell in this game. I cannot emphasize enough how, once you've learned a couple of hotkeys, it's so, so fulfilling to be able to hit two keys, click a bunch of times, and have a defensive hardpoint or a bunch of production or something. ...Also the factions are really interesting and the mission design rocks. I could probably have paragraphs for each of those too but the number one most important thing I wanted to bring up is how good the game feels. THE NEEDS-IMPROVEMENT: Lots of bugs. Lots of visibly-unfinished content. I know it says Early Access, but as of this writing it's more of a beta than a near-release product. Is it worth $40 right now? ...Tentatively yes. It has the bones of something worth 70 or 80, and between 4 factions, 12 campaign missions, PvP, survival co-op, and a whole-ass competitive metagame, there's enough content to be worth it. But the "tentative yes" is contingent on the polish and patches we're sure to see throughout EA. THE HARD-TO-JUSTIFY: All of these aliens are from Mass Effect. Like there's a ton of worldbuilding, there are deep and interesting rabbitholes to go down in the lore, but I keep getting pulled out of it because that is not a Marran, that is a Turian. That is not an Arandi, that is an Asari. And while there are slight differences in visuals and theme, those differences are so slight that they feel more uncanny than anything else. When your NotTurian buddy pulls out a sniper rifle, I'm not disappointed, but I'm almost *bothered* because this man is extremely not Garrus. And that's another thing - the character writing isn't great right now. It's fixable in edits, but it's all (or nearly all) voice-acted, which makes sweeping changes that much harder. Most characters have *at most* one personality trait, and none of them are likely to have much opportunity for future development. Normally this is fine, but ZeroSpace seems to really want you to care about the NPC companions, so sometimes it forces you to go through dialog trees like: NotGarrus: "Hello, Commander. Does it bother you that I am a Marran, the species who opposed humanity in the war we aren't calling the First Contact War?" -> "Of course not" -> "Not really" -> "I have to go" OVERALL: Don't pick this up for the writing, and don't pick it up expecting a polished game. But do pick it up because it's a really really good RTS.

Neat RTS, needs some work but runs well and I enjoyed my time with it so far
Played many starcraft clones recently, this game is one of the better ones.
fun
PROS: This is the best RTS since SC2. Granted, that is not the highest bar but the fact that the game is in this good of a state now and patching regularly makes me optimistic that it will keep getting better and better. The variety between the 4 different factions combined with the different Merc options make for a lot of different ways of playing the game. Building units, buildings, and research is streamlined compared to other RTS games so that makes it easier to focus on micro, map control, scouting etc. The variety of abilities makes micro interesting the faction abilities also create a good layer of strategy. The battles look pretty freaking cool too. CONS: The UI could use some work but the devs have made it clear that is a priority they are working on. The graphics are good but not amazing but since I have an older computer I am good with that. The campaign graphics and cut scenes on the non-mission (story) parts feel slightly low-budget but that's not a major problem for me since gameplay is the most important thing. I am also impatient for Xol faction to be playable on ladder because they are so cool but obviously that is coming soon too. Overall, great game that is only going to get better.
Great start to an early access RTS. First one I have enjoyed putting the time into in quite some time. Taking some of the best bits from your favourit RTS games and mashing them together. Im certain with a bit more time, we will have a wonderful game that will be worth the wait.
Demo was fun, the game is fun, They added new modes for co-op! Sadly the performance dropped from the demo. I have a high end rig and in demo I was getting 90FPS by end of a match, now I get about 15. Keeping the game though! SP story is great so far and runs smoother than MP. Opto will come to us soon!
