Renaissance Kingdom Wars brings back the golden days of strategy games, reinvented with modern standards and complete with retro 2000s graphics.
Renaissance was an era of science, arts, philosophy—and the art of war. As the captain of these forces, you hold the power to forge or shatter nations.

Your campaign begins as the captain of a mercenary company, engaging in epic battles across diverse terrains. From the icy tundras of Scandinavia to the sun-scorched Holy Land, your journey will test your tactical skills in sieges, naval combat, and field warfare.
Rewards come in the form of cities to govern and lands to rule. Oversee economies, forge alliances, and expand your influence. As your ambitions grow, so does your reach—becoming the emperor of the known world is within your grasp. Will you seize the opportunity?

Experience the Renaissance like never before, with a unique blend of grand strategy and full-on RTS. Evolve your armies from medieval weaponry to Renaissance innovations like arquebuses and cannons, transforming the battlefield with the march of progress.
With over 500 provinces to conquer, from the Sultanates of Africa to the steppes of Russia and the Kingdoms of the West, your journey is set against a backdrop of endless war. Every battle, every city, and every decision brings you closer to mastering this dynamic and tumultuous era.

Lead armies to victory, build thriving cities, and navigate the political intrigues of the 16th century. Whether through brute force or delicate diplomacy, you will carve your path to power. With its innovative mix of city-building, real-time strategy, and a rise-to-power progression, Renaissance Kingdom Wars delivers a truly immersive experience.
The Renaissance is yours to command. Will you build an empire to stand the test of time—or watch it crumble under the weight of ambition?

The developer is gonna change kiev to kyiv because a left wing extremist called him a nazi and threaten with a negative review. I cannot support people who cave to people like that. The game crashed the first hour of gameplay among a few other things which i might have been able to overlook.
Will never purchase a game from this company again, they charge money release the same game 1000x over and stop updating it after a while, while pretending they care about the game until they abandon it
This developer is a predator who shouldnt be allowed on steam. sells a new game every 6 months that is essentially the same exact game on a terrible engine. no support and updates afterwards. insane how many games steam has allowed this guy to publish
These ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ dudes literally re-release this same exact game every few months with world map changes and call it a new game. Do not buy, do not support their other titles, if you have the ability - refund them.
Renaissance Kingdom Wars, developed by Reverie World Studios and published by indie.io, is an ambitious grand strategy and real-time tactics game set during the tumultuous Renaissance period of 1510. Players are thrust into a dynamic and living world, beginning as a lowly mercenary captain and striving to carve out their own empire through military conquest, diplomacy, and economic mastery. The game offers a detailed depiction of Europe, Africa, and the Middle East, with hundreds of settlements and regions to explore, conquer, and govern, creating a sense of scale and immersion rarely seen in indie strategy titles. The gameplay blends high-level strategic management with detailed, hands-on tactical battles. On the strategic map, players must manage armies, resources, and political alliances, navigating the complex interactions between rival lords, mercenaries, and sovereign nations. Each decision carries weight, as the world evolves independently, with AI-controlled factions expanding, negotiating, and waging war according to their own agendas. This dynamic environment ensures that no two campaigns play out identically, providing a rich, emergent narrative driven by the player’s choices. Combat is one of the game’s standout features. Real-time tactical battles are both intense and highly detailed, requiring careful consideration of terrain, unit types, formations, and timing. Sieges in particular are meticulously designed, emphasizing strategy and resource management, and capturing the brutal reality of Renaissance-era warfare. Players must coordinate their forces effectively, exploiting weaknesses in enemy lines while protecting their own, making each engagement feel consequential and rewarding. Beyond warfare, diplomacy and economics are integral to success. Players can forge alliances, negotiate trade agreements, and manage resources to sustain their growing dominions. The inclusion of a banking and trade system reflects the historical importance of commerce during the Renaissance, adding an extra layer of strategic depth. Decisions in diplomacy can have lasting repercussions, influencing the balance of power and the success of military campaigns, making political savvy as important as battlefield prowess. While the game’s scope and depth are impressive, it is not without its challenges. Some players have noted occasional AI inconsistencies on the strategic map, with armies behaving unpredictably or making questionable strategic choices. The multiplayer modes, though promising, are still evolving and may not yet match the depth of the single-player experience. Despite these limitations, the game’s complexity and attention to detail make it engaging and rewarding for players willing to invest time in mastering its systems. Overall, Renaissance Kingdom Wars is a compelling blend of grand strategy and real-time tactics that offers a richly detailed and immersive depiction of the Renaissance era. Its expansive strategic map, deep combat mechanics, and intricate economic and diplomatic systems make it a standout title for strategy enthusiasts. While there are areas for refinement, particularly in AI behavior and multiplayer, the game’s ambitious design and emergent gameplay provide a highly engaging and historically flavored experience that rewards careful planning, tactical skill, and thoughtful decision-making. Very fun game, if you're into the Total War series you will fit right into this. Siege battles are the highlight of the game, better done even than Total War itself lately *Cough Warhammer 3 Cough* and you'll be playing lots of them, as even small hamlets are protected by armies and walls. It doesn't take long to rise up the ranks, and you can use the victories from the many armies that will come to fight you to quickly build up and expand. Your main goal should be to become the king of your kingdom, so you can peace deal the more annoying/strong countries and fight/ally with whom you please, then the world is truly at your fingertips.
This is like a really poorly made hybrid between AOE 3 and total war. The quality of this game is so poor that I can't believe it was made in late 2024, it's more like a late 1994 standard.
ya so when I get to the battle the screnen just goes dark and the city map down i the corner showes the window jumping from one corner to the next. So for me atm unplayable
