Step into a living comic book in this new take on the Ninja Gaiden series. Brandishing his ninja sword and the mecha weapons in his cyber arm, Yaiba slaughters zombies with brutal, over-the-top abandon. Will you slice enemies to pieces, crush them with Yaiba's cyborg arm or just rip off a zombie’s arms to use as nunchucks?

The best Ninja Gaiden?

13 on sale2 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 2 “not sold” markets are read from the Steam price pass of Sep 10: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price in those. The 13 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

Unrewarding combat bad level design and no stun mechanic means your constantly battling againtst enemys who can attack and block through anything you throw at them while having to manage the worst camera angles possible half the time you cant see whatever supposed to be happening. During the second mech dog fight it literally takes up the whole stage and you can only see an outline of your character and not the little mobs attacking you while your dodging the bosses attacks idk if im just bad at this game but i firmly believe its just not fun. Edit: I tried to give it another go booted it up only to find all my upgrades and skills had dissapeared and i couldnt block making the game summarly unbeatable.
There are some good moments, but also some moments which could be frustrating especially with the camera in the boss fights with your character blocking your vision of where the enemy is. The camera also doesn't capture the entire area of a battle, so you could be moving towards an enemy, or they could be firing at you without you even realising it. There is some zany humour, quirky characters & doesn't take itself too seriously, but it feels like it matches the comic book aesthetics of the game. If you are a fan of 3d hack & slash or zombie arcade games, it might be worth a go. I'd give it a 6/10.
TLDR; Awesome game, don't understand the negative reviews, if you love challenging 3rd person hack and slash, you are going to love this. Do NOT miss getting this for 3 bucks. Ok, so oddly enough this will be my first game review on steam lol ofc I'm not done with this game but I don't feel like I need to beat the game to decide what my thoughts are about it. And considering alot of the reviews have very little playtime, I think it's fair for me to toss my dice in the mix. I don't understand the bad reviews about this. Very well could be subjective and that's ok. And I have allowed comments on this as well because if someone doesn't like this enough to post a bad review and go so far as to say "don't spend 3 bucks on it"? That just makes no sense to me at all but I want to hear why you feel that way. The camera: it's a fixed camera game bruh.. you don't fight the camera. You go with the flow. That's (at times) part of the challenge. And maybe there will be a couple awful angles that will frustrate me, ok..? I can deal with that. Doubt there are any that make it unplayable. The humor: I am easily one of the biggest, most contemptuous loathers and habitual noticers of corny, awful humor. I mean, I ruin shows, movies and all sorts of tv/media/social media for people who try to get me to watch it because 99% of it is absolutely unforgiveable. No fan of modernity or "the narrative" here. lol I don't get that from this at all so far. Yeah, it has humor, some of it's dumb. But more of it than not, has actually made me laugh! Which is shocking to and for me! it's not Borderlands or latter Farcry levels of corny, awful humor lol that's for sure. Not even close! Play testing: I am willing to bet that the person who said in their review that this wasn't play tested on the hardest difficulties is spot on lol! That doesn't bother me at all personally. But it could be a con to people who want to beat everything on the hardest difficulty. *If* it is actually too hard to beat. I can't speak to that currently, it's pretty tough for me on normal but I'm no pro at these insane fast games, I'm too old, my reflexes are too slow. XD Have you tried Ninja Gaiden 2 Black on Master Ninja? lol THAT is a perfect example of *not* play tested. But again, there could very well be people who can pull it off. My lil' bro could beat Ninja Gaiden sigma 2 on master ninja but he can't even get past the first level Genshin fight in Black 2. To me, that suggests it's not well tested, he said the same thing. And he is actually nuts at these insanely hard, fast and demanding games. Combat: Absolutely awesome! I cannot even properly describe how much I love this so far. I am on the 5th level, So as an absolute novice to the combat system, I am already enjoying it so much that I had to come and leave a review. And I definitely can see myself wanting to play this more than once without any doubt. There is still so much to learn as far as mastering the combat, exploiting enemy weaknesses, learning atk patterns, combos, upgrades, strategy and hidden items throughout the maps. I rolled the dice despite the conflicting reviews that almost made me pass up on this fun!!!???!!! And I could not possibly be happier that I bought this game. If you can get this for 3 bucks, this is an absolute score. If you love ninja gaiden, ruthless, rapid, brutal 3rd person hack n slash, you are going to absolutely love this. Might not love every single aspect of it but who really loves every aspect of every game? There's what...2? 3 games we might be able to say in our lives that we loved every single thing about it? Not many. Pick it up if that sounds good! It's a bit different than the regular Ninja Gaiden series, of course, that should be pretty apparent from the trailers. Buti it's fast, it's awesome, it's brutal, the humor isn't awful, I've thought some of it was actually pretty funny, which is very rare for me. The camera is fine, It's a challenge, it can be a casual game to play, it's just awesome. I don't see anything happening aside from me loving every minute of it, even if I'm raging at dying a hundred times to a boss or insane mobs. I am sure that will happen. YMMV, I just don't get how this is not worth every penny of 3 bucks. This is a sick game! But feel free, lmk exactly what you don't like about it if ya want. I sure would like to hear some reasons other than what was stated because I can't agree with any of those. And that's ok, if someone truly is bothered that much by one thing, But the conflicting reviews put people who might actually really, really enjoy this game in a conflicted mindset. And that really sucks for anyone who would otherwise miss out on something they would really enjoy. At least say, "this is just my opinion, this is just what bothers me", like i think..2 people actually did. Maybe. "this game is @$$" and " not worth 3 bucks", "don't buy" are just weak and not even a valid opinion or review. Full Price: I can't currently say whether or not I would think it's worth the full price. Since I don't know how long it is. I would imagine this one will be attainable on sale pretty often. And it is totally worth the sale price. Every fraction of every penny of 3 bucks like yeeeesh!!! What a steal! I wouldn't have cared if I payed 10 for it. I'd still be psyched. Fr, pick it up if you love Ninja Gaiden "style" (since it's not exact to the main series), I don't think you will regret it. And if you do, refund it and let me know what you absolutely couldn't bear to endure about this game. lol Sorry for the short (possibly agonizing for some) article but to be completely honest, I think this game deserves it. I think it deserves a fair shake. I regret nothing. lol
Yes.

OOH YEAAAH!!!!! !!!
One of the worst action games I've ever played. Super obnoxious enemies, weak main character, terrible combat. Game crashed after a boss and my progress was wiped to a checkpoint about one hour before. Stay away.
Ive owned this on the ps3 since its original debut. While more traditional Ninja Gaiden fans seem to have issues with it, mostly over the different control / combo type system.. or perhaps calling it a difference of taste is more honest, this particular NG game can start off feeling a bit off-putting. Please do not let that turn you off of this little gem of a game. Play, or claw your way through the prolog style beginnings of this game, by the end of it you will understand why I say its a gem. The battle system, (im struggling with what to call it) will start to flow out of you like you always knew it. (And it will make sense why its the way it is, vs traditional yet modern NG titles) The augmentation style upgrades, (shown as a flow chart basically) get really fun after the 3rd level or so. You start making some tuff choices selecting which one will kick the most ass, and which ones kick the most ass with a style you like more. The boss battles are very comic book like, the game in general is going for that manga'ish style from the get go. (Picture Dead Pool vs Marvel Universe, ZOMBIES!) THE GAME IS MEANT TO BE KINDA GOOFY!! Its definitely not for people who cant have fun with something that isnt cannon. This game was basically designed for people like me who heard the noun combo of Ninja & Zombies, and said YES, that DOES sound dope as hell actually. Its just simply a FUN game that doesnt take itself seriously, even for a micro second. GRAB THIS GAME, you wont regret it, if you like video games to have FUN, and care less about cannon story line than having a fun trip down Zombie dismemberment lane. Get to slashing fools! :)
