XCOM: Chimera Squad delivers an all-new story and turn-based tactical combat experience in the XCOM universe.

Prices
The United States storefront in every case, so this compares stores and not countries.
Prices
Each in the currency that store quoted — not converted: the gap between two rows is the publisher's pricing, not an exchange rate.
14 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
Availability
We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 2/day in the week to Aug 14 → 2.71/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 24 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,404 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Sums Steam only; GOG publishes no volume signal, so the true total is higher by an unknown amount.

Matched by title — a reused name can pair the wrong games. * is a critic aggregate. Prices and positions are each store's United States storefront; Epic charts worldwide. Audience and Score too, except Steam's, which is worldwide.

Battles are too short and in very small areas, which makes them uninteresting.
Quite boring, XCOM 2 is better
If you love XCOM's formula, this game deviates from it a lot. If you're like me and you love games like into the breach or wildermyth but find games like XCOM a bit dated feeling then chimera squad is a massive improvement/modernization on the formula. The biggest thing is no randomly provoking guys because you explored the map too quickly and vision is symmetrical. Also the character abilities rely a lot more on controlling action economy and area effects you have to carefully aim and be correctly positioned for. These are generally awesome and lead to tactical situations that are just more interesting than anything in XCOM 2. Although moving your characters to aim your cones will make you wish for an undo button present in more modern tactics games. (There sort of is an undo button in that the game literally saves every time you do any move, but saves happening in the same minute aren't sorted) There's also not good clarity on if you'll provoke attacks or take damage when you move. There's also some statuses that aren't very strong like stunned 1, but which visually look identical to the much more powerful stunned 2, which can make telling which enemies are incapacitated on the initiative list a bit difficult to parse. The writing is ♥♥♥♥ but xcom writing has never once been good so this isn't a chimera squad flaw. Overall I think it's a good game but I understand why xcom fans hate it.

14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Aug 19: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

Why the hell does the sectoid sound like a human. For Flunk's Sake, you had a *template* of how they should sound with XCOM 2 WOTC. Good thing I didn't buy this piece of chryssalid dung, it was a shared library game.
XCOM is all about creating and customizing your guys. Predetermined characters I have no interest in ruined it for me.

Müll
Pretty shocked that more XCOM players don't love Chimera squad. The breaching system alone adds makes for such a engaging and enjoyable gaming experience not to mention all of the new items and upgrades that you can purchase. I love the characters in Chimera squad and their various abilities. There are TONS of decent SRPG's out there and Chimera squad isn't top tier by any means but I think Chimera Squad is on par is underrated. GG
Cade o XCOM 3 caraio?
Leaving this negative review in the hopes that Firaxis one day learns. Stop trying to write characters. Your dialogue is testicular cancer inducing. Please fire the person that is giving my balls cancer. Gameplay is good tho
