I'll update this if anything changes, but after just an hour I can definitely recommend this if you're up for an early access roguelike. Combat feels smooth. You quickly begin feeling the "roguelike" upgrades and systems. It has that unique Wizard Fu look and sound that I loved in Songbringer.
If you loved Songbringer, this game is an easy buy. Played during Beta and absolutely loved the game, just started the Early Access and it's even more fun. Wizard Fu is a fantastic developer and I can't wait to see what content gets added :)
Wraithbinder got its unique take on the roguelike/ dungeon room type of action RPG, with permanent upgrade stat that encourage you /getting stronger each time you venture into new run. The artstyle is familiar if you play their previous game, the Songbringer. However, for a roguelike game, there a need for healing/ regen item (Maybe because we not yet go to the late game), this game as far as we play, only have increase hp +5 (which overall increase your hp pool by 5 and just heal u for 5 hp), with all those monsters boss between each 3 floors, your hp going to depleted if you not familiar. We end our first run in 3rd floor boss with 1hp fight against him, where its use almost like bullethell attack. Another is the music and the end of dialogue squeek which is really annoying everytime the dialogue ended. I was lucky enough to get a key to this game's early access and I've been really enjoying it. I've played around with a few different action roguelikes before and Wraithbinder is a blast. The pixel art style and challenging combat make each level feel fun and fresh. Plus, the out-of-run upgrades significantly change each run to the point where I HAVE to just send it again. I'm super excited to put some more time into this game and I can't wait to see what else is in store!
A delightful lil romp in a stylized world. The first thing I noticed was the shaders that added a lil extra to the experience, just wait until you rotate the camera! The combat is snappy and the progression feels appropriate. The difficulty seemed appropriate in that I definitely had some trouble, but gosh dang I also found Hades difficult. It reminded me quite a bit of wizard of legend in how the movement and combat felt. I enjoyed the variety in weapons, they felt well balanced and I was able to find something that suited my play style. Sometimes I wished I could scroll through the dialog faster, I'm a quick reader. I'm excited to see how this game evolves and to put a bit more time into finding my precious child!
I liked how the games visuals looked. The pixel art is cool and the game-play is fun. I highly recommend playing.
If you like rouge like, you will be drawn in quick. I was mouth breathing and enjoying it quick. I played in Beta, and it has come a long way and it is fun to see the story!
Feels extremly fun and stylised for this early in development. Totally Playable allready, without feeling stale.
this game is dope! I enjoy getting upgrades & the feeling of progression. The skills are pretty cool. I've been playing on steamdeck
I have played Wraithbinder a few times through the beta play periods, and this game has really grown and shaped into something unique. It is really clear that the dev is taking the time to listen to feedback, and allow the game to eb and flow how it needs to get to its full potential. There is this sense of discovery in the way you are able to ascend and descend through a run; rather than just being full speed ahead, that I really enjoy. That paired with only basic guidance on how to use weapons/abilities/armors/etc. and allows the player to adjust and find things out on their own. I am really excited to see where this game continues to grow -- and for more to come at full release!
