Witching Hour

"Witching Hour" is kind of like an indie horror game with an emphasis on puzzles that takes place in a farmhouse in the woods. I really liked what the creator did because the atmosphere is phenomenal and the story is decent. The tale, of course about witchcraft, is far from original, but the way it is told and the twists that occur throughout are very creative. The storytelling is definitely way better than 90% of indie horror games, but I wish the game was a little bit more vague and left more to the imagination. The game play is mostly puzzles that can be half brute forced because they are so easy. Still, I enjoyed the puzzles and atmosphere. The only shooting combat is at the end of the game and it's terrible, but it's such a short sequence it doesn't drag the game down at all. I found this game very relaxing but also dreadful. It has an eerie, decrepit vibe, the music is dark and there is a feeling of dread and hopelessness pervading the whole thing.

Excelente juego, se supone que es de terror pero yo lo catalogaría como novela interactiva.

3/10, this game is bad. the story is interesting but there's holes in it so at some points, it doesn't make sense. i was hoping it'd be more like Madison but the puzzles in Witching Hour are repetitive at best and usually have little to do with the story which was disappointing. this game is more or less a point and click visual novel which is totally fine on it's own but, without revealing spoilers, a new game mechanic is introduced in the last hour of the game (which also has nothing to do with the story). the voice acting was also lackluster to say the least. not worth 15 dollars, would maybe be worth 5. save your time and money and play Madison instead!

I just recently finished The Witching Hour. I thoroughly enjoyed nearly everything about the game. The atmosphere was wonderful. The puzzles were complex enough to keep you engrossed in the game, but not so difficult that it took you away from the story line if you had a little trouble figuring them out. The story itself was eerie and you really get immersed in the story. I genuinely had a wonderful experience playing this game and didn't want it to be over. I had already seen a run through of Harthorn and the Swine previously, both from the same developer. I haven't yet played those myself, but definitely feel like Witching Hour is a step or two up from those. All in all, very pleased with this game. I personally, did not have any issues with bugs or crashing. The only negative that I can really say without spoilers is that some of the characters lack depth & their voice acting is bland. Other than that, I loved it!

[h1] Eerie and mysterious! [/h1] I am only a few hours in (4 hours is not entirely true, it's closer to 3), and I have to say I am really liking it so far. It's eerie, which is my favorite kind of scary - and I am [u]SO[/u] curious about that door! [b]Some game comments:[/b] - Dad seems a little off. Not sure if intentional, I suppose I will find out. - Main character is also a bit off when she never mentions any of the strange things she's seeing an hearing to anyone. - Main character walks SO painfully slow. I wish her walk speed was closer to her run speed, and her run speed was slightly faster than it is now. But apart from that, I am really looking forward to uncovering the rest of the mysteries in this game! Very well done, dev(s)!! :D The puzzles are a lot of fun to solve. I am thoroughly enjoying the experience! :) [b]Update[/b] I just got my first ending, and wow what a fun experience this game was! I thoroughly enjoyed this game and the story. gutes altes horror game sieht aus wie aus ps2 zeiten und spielt sich auch so. egal ob resident evil ,silent hill oder möchtern horror last of us keins kommt an dieses witching hour spiel ran von mir gibts daumen hoch, nur für echte horror gamer jeder der meint das game sei schlecht kennt keine guten games.

What seems to be a great game is wrought with errors and bugs. most of the puzzles lag once you solve them and if you restart you end up 20 minutes back. It was extremely frustrating. as far as gameplay its a beautifully rendered game, and fun until you run into a .exe who knows where i will end back up. bottom line, if youre gonna charge for a product, finish it . I am sure there are others who experienced the same bugs i did and the game is a few years old
