Windstorm: Start of a Great Friendship - Remastered

Great game

Ich habe erst das normale Ostwind Spiel abgeschlossen und alle Errungenschaften geholt, keine wirklichen Probleme gehabt. Die Remastered Version sieht zwar Optisch um einiges schöner aus, aber ist dennoch ein Fall nach unten. Erstmal bleibt man nun viel öfters mit dem Pferd hängen und manchmal springt das Pferd nicht, obwohl man im grünen Bereich war bzw. die Taste gedrückt hat. Dann bleibt man quasi am Hindernis stehen und es passiert erstmal 1-2 Sekunden nichts. Und das nervigste von allem... es gibt hier so ein Zeitlupen Bug. Wenn man kurz vorm Springen ist, kommt ein Fenster, in dem man eine Taste drücken muss, um Normal oder Perfekt abzuspringen. Das Spiel verlangsamt sich dadurch um ca. 50% - nach dem Sprung geht es eigentlich normal weiter... Eigentlich. Oft bleibt die blöde Zeitlupe selbst im Missionsauswahl Menü und auch danach. Es geht einfach nicht weg. Man ist gezwungen, das Spiel neu zu starten. Es sei denn, es gibt irgendwie eine Notlösung ohne Spiel neu zu starten. Also für mich ist das Remastered eine Katastrophe - aber es sieht halt schöner aus und es gibt ein Winter DLC, was man leider für 100% Erfolge haben und spielen muss. Die Remastered Version hat auch insgesamt doppelt zu viele Errungenschaften, wie das Original, wobei hier 10 Erfolge auf das Winter DLC und 1 Erfolg für alle Erfolge fallen. Somit gibt es im Hauptspiel ein paar neue Orte zu Erkunden und Wanderwege abreiten. Wer im Original alle 24 Erfolge geholt hat, bekommt hier beim Start ebenfalls alle 24. Das finde ich sehr gut, so muss man diese 120 Kaans Schätze nicht noch einmal ablaufen und sammeln! Leider muss man aber auch Ostwinds 4 Fertigkeiten auf Maximum bringen, so ist man quasi gezwungen die Missionen zu spielen, aber die XP fallen sehr Mager aus und die Missionen sind halt immer gleich... entweder eine Strecke abreiten, Objekte/Ereignisse oder Tiere Fotografieren und ein Ort finden. Leider gibt es wenig bis keine Informationen, wo man manchmal hin soll. Da ich die Karte vom Original etwas kenne, war es bislang in Ordnung. Aber auf der großen Map siehst du keine Marker, nur auf deiner Minimap, wenn du in der Nähe bist. Wenn du allerdings nicht einmal weißt, wo du überhaupt in der Nähe hin musst, dann reitet man sich hier ein Wolf. Schade... aber immerhin wird das Spiel noch gepatcht, letzte Update kam Mitte Dezember 2025.

Good game, but horrible on controller.. Specifically for the quests where you have to catch an animal by sprinting next to it for 3 seconds. It is physically impossible to hold A while moving your camera (R joystick) to keep up with an animal that hard turns left and right and suddenly is faster than Windstorm himself not matter how much the stats are upgraded. Either change the camera to follow the horse during these missions or make the chasing animals slower than Windstorm once he is in a full sprint. I have rage quit 3 times trying to get these missions done. Other than those missions, I love everything else about the game. Overall it is a really simple fun starting out horse game for I would say is good for intermediate players. You can make it harder by upping the difficulty, but don't over estimate your abilities because once your in a save you can not change the difficulty, unless you'd like to start over. It has its quirks obviously, but for the lack of horse games nowadays, I think its worth the money for the remastered version. Also worth it to get the christmas DLC. 4/5 stars. Just please fix the catching animals missions. They're a nightmare for us all and simply frustrating.

This game is really awesome and gives me goosebumps in playing it. The story is good, the open world is epic and what I've seen from the original version to the Remaster is a huge improvement. The iteration of grafic, setting and features is really good with the upgraded engine version. I love the horses though so cute and even I've not seen the movies or read the books or neither am I a horse game addict, I'm really enjoying it.

I bought the game for my young daughter recently and she really enjoys it! Riding around in the nice landscape, discovering nice spots, spending time with the horse and taking care of it. It's easy for her to move with the horse, and the dialogs are nice and not overwhelming. After all she wants to spend time with the horse :)

There is a difference compared to before, but I also have a lot of bugs with the remastered version. When it rains, there are serious graphic errors so that I have to restart the game. And sometimes the whole game freezes and I have to restart the pc. I play everything on Ultra. Nevertheless, the graphics sometimes look very grainy or pixelated when I ride through the terrain with an easterly wind. Especially when standing in front of trees or riding through the grass. Ostwind itself doesn't have much texture and looks like plastic. For the fact that the Unreal Engine 5 was used a better performance against before but weak for what would have been possible. Whether this justifies a surcharge of 10 euros compared to the old game, in my opinion no. Also, be aware that resetting the horse does not mean being able to redistribute the skills but having to do all the objectives again, as I was shocked to discover. It's better, but it could also be improved. It would also be nice if it didn't supposedly eat up even more performance like Starfield or AFOP games that run really perfectly on my PC. Something can't be right. My PC components are a 1000 GB SSD and a 3070 G-Force with 8GB memory and 32Ram, so that's certainly not the problem, plus everything is new and yet the game eats up performance without end.

this game is so boring that I think it rewired something in me. is this the best we can offer for our young impressionable horse girls EDITED REVIEW: wait sorry now I have watched the film upon which this game is based - Windstorm - and now I must amend my review accordingly. Don't ever call me a baseless hater I do my homework here This video game is actually in many respects a remarkable adaptation of/sequel for the film with which it shares its name. The game replicates actual lines from the movie, actual characters in the movie, and shows game versions of actual props and locations from this film, a family friendly German saga about a girl who loves a horse. Things that are different in the game: I would've liked to see the mean girl in the movie appear at some point in this game to add some tension to the story. Maybe she does after the first 5 hours or so IDK. the movie has some insane choices of mike drop montages, not present here at least in the first three hours of the game no one mentions the mysterious Hungarian in the movie, sometimes she gets off the horse, which she cannot do in the game. Also merely namechecked in the game from what I saw but critical to the film is that in the film the girl has some kind of magical powers? The horse is telepathic? This should be in the game a lot more because it's insane. In the case in which you are a huge fan of the moviefilm Windstorm - or in German we say, Ostwind! - and want to spend time in that world - then this is a surprisingly faithful adaptation of that movie but needs more horse telepathy. It's still a crappy game obviously

Wirklich schön und gut nur kann ich diese fotoaufgaben nicht lösen. Ich kann aus jeder position das foto machen, nur es klappt gar nix.
