Loot and craft as you explore. Lob a tasty sausage roll as a diversion, or poison a kebab for bait. Sneak up and knock a monster out with a whack from a cricket bat, or slice them up with a chainsaw. Use stealth to sneak, leftover food to distract, weapons to attack, or if all else fails, run! But be very careful - one bite and you'll be ripped apart to become a tasty snack for monsters! Violence is your last resort. Sneaking, skullduggery, and ambush are your tactics.

Combat mechanics are awful, but it doesn't seem like combat is the way to go anyway. It seems to be more about stealth, even though there are no stealth mechanics. This game seems to desperately hope to become interesting by making it demanding, putting more enemies than you can handle, all of whom one-shot you. Difficulty cannot make up for fatal flaws such as poor design and poor gameplay, however.
I played for 80 minutes before card farming. The crafting system is neat, with nothing groundbreaking. The stealth system isn't well done, with enemies seeing you more often than they should. I do like the randomized level layout. The game doesn't encourage you to explore the surroundings, but it is required in order to find key cards for progression. I once threw a stick of dynamite, killed 8 zombies at once, only to come back and have 5 more show up. They weren't the snake-like creatures that spawn out of bodies. it was simply an open middle finger for me trying to be clever WITH THEIR SYSTEM. Be a stealth game, be a crafting survival game, be an action game. Just make up your mind when trying to hybrid genres. Be a crafting game with stealth and reward me for exploring. Shouldn't be difficult, yet it was. 4/10 Too frustrating to recommend, but a good class on how design went wrong.
reminds me of minigore, but it could get difficult.

hiç birşey anlamadım kalitesiz bir oyun
Basingstoke is one of those games that makes me wish i could have a general rating system in addition to the thumbs up/down, this is a game i recommend but it's not a game i recommend 100%. At it's core essentials, Basingstoke is an isometric zombie roguelike-stealth game that's pseudo comedy-horror (though horror over comedy) about being a random British citizen escaping from an alien-caused zombie apocalypse. It's a game that rewards cleverness and craft both literally with an expansive crafting system and more ephemerally with an environment that encourages experimentation, though one must be careful as, without spending increasingly extortionate prices for manual checkpoints, death restarts you from the level beginning and you die in one hit by everything that can hit you. Whether this is something that mostly punishes unfair situations and adds frustration, or makes pulling off hard segments satisfying and makes the game intense is YMMV and something to know before buying the game. The general gameplay loop is simple: get out of the safehouse, dodge zombies/monsters while scavenging for stuff to craft more stuff to survive and kill more zombies, until you get to the next safehouse, repeat. Despite what the advertising material shows this is not a game where you constantly get into brawls due to how rare easy to apply weaponry is and that none of them are permanent. Wackin' sticks degrade into less-than-usable wackin' sticks or into scrap, and guns are at the same time loud, hard to aim, immensely rare, and with slightly more common ammo. Other methods of thinning the hoard needs crafting (crossbow and it's darts, flamethrower, etc), take setup or are environmentally specific (tentacles, breaking electric boxes, rage/fire food), or are very dangerous to you (explosives). All of which are finite, this encourages stealth which gladly you have quite a few ways of doing, especially as zombies prioritize a sausage roll over you. I won't say the stealth is complicated or complex, all of it is radius-based attraction with zombies prioritizing food over sound, but it is fun to pull off when it's not frustrating. But... Here's the snag that rips my coat enough to make me recommend it with a cloth-made asterisk, it's very repetitive. Once you've encountered the massive tentacle monster that sounds an alarm when it sees you, you've basically seen all the enemies it'll throw at you. After going through the church catacombs and dodging phantom monsters, there's few level gimmicks they could throw at you. By that point you probably have a nearly complete knowledge of what the game will throw at you, and that's not necessarily a negative as it's meant to be replayable with different characters, but if you're someone who wants to complete a game with a few sprints it'll wear on heavily. I just completed the game over the course of a year or two not out of length (it would take approximately 5ish hours to complete without deaths and without delays) but because i'd get bored, until a month or two later where i get back into it for a day or two and then put it off again. This culminates where the last mission puts you into what i presume is an infinite survival mode instead of an ending despite it feeling like what should be an ending, maybe i missed something as a i stopped at the second level but... Something about it rubs me the wrong way, i know the journey is most of the fun but i presumed that the ending would've let you escape from the city entirely or something, anything to give the journey weight and to end your game so you can play the other characters. TL;DR: Stealth-focused roguelike with a charming artstyle, heavily repetitive with an ending i don't like, buy if you're fine with both of those.
