Hi! I 100%ed the achievements and have 1000 hours into the game. I got 2nd place worldwide with no prospect of getting 1st place, and still find it fun to keep playing. [h2]Variety[/h2] With 75 tracks and 52 cars (12 of which are "for fun" alternatives), there is a huge variety of what you can experience in the game. Roads made of asphalt, sand, dirt, mud, snow and ice, all with different physics affecting the grip in different ways. Whether you want to drive in heavy drift or in a full grip style, whether you want a long high speed track or a compact one with sharp turns, whether you want rally with ramps and bumpy roads or a flat streets, whether you want to drive along an oasis in the desert, into the night in suspended roads, or up a snowy mountain, Star Drift has got it all, and you can drive them with any car you want to get the fastest lap time in your own way. [h2]Cars[/h2] Each car has 4 stats: Speed, Acceleration, Grip and Downforce. Each stat can have a maximum of 5 stars, and each car has 10 stars spread out among them. Each car feels different, drives different, and it allows each player to specialize on a different set of cars. Some cars are more suitable for certain maps, but the margin for experimentation is big enough that to this day, we're still finding out faster combinations. [h2]Best mechanics[/h2] It takes some time to adjust to how drifts work, but once it clicks, you'll see that the claim of a "great feel of weight" isn't exaggerated, it's understated. The camera control in SDE is crazy good. You can customize almost everything: 1st person, 3rd person, top down, play whichever you want and tweak them to your heart's content. [h2]Community[/h2] SDE is a hidden gem. The community is small, but amazing and very active in the game's Discord. Every new discovery is posted there, we help each other improve, and compete in multiplayer lobbies. The developer is not absent, he still watches our progress and talks to the community. It's sad that this game doesn't have more players, but the entertainment value is there, and for such a low price, it's worth every penny.

A jewel of a racing game for competitive players. After the AI races (for casual players) and beating all expert times, the fun (...) begins: lap time racing, against yourself and the leader board, to up your skill rating and climb the ladder. Daily challenges still have players (2024), mostly top tier/ten, and are a great motivation. To cut a couple of 100th off your lap time can be sometimes so hard, you'll need a diamond. Well, you got it.

Rediculously good hidden gem. I don't know why this is not way more popular. An absolute steal too.

Чрезвычайно недооценённая гоночная игра. Контента в игре немало, хватит на несколько десятков часов, плюсом есть ежедневные испытания с соревнованиями игроков со всего мира каждую неделю. В игре большое количество РЕАЛЬНО разнообразных трасс, где каждая трасса словно другая игра: здесь вам и ночной горный спуск, подобный Initial D, и гонки по трюковой трассе в аэропорту, и гонки на кольцевых трассах, и трасса, подобная скоростным гонкам из NFS ProStreet... Катаясь по всем этим трассам, получаешь много удовольствия и игра не успевает надоесть. Автомобилей тоже немало, и все они основаны на каких-то реальных авто, и при этом каждое авто ощущается как-то по-особенному, и в сочетании с огромным разнообразием трасс, это играет на руку, что ты постоянно можешь менять авто в процессе, и это реально будет иметь смысл, что мне очень нравится. Здесь и АЕ86, и субару, и форды, и скайлайны, и камаз, и много других авто... Физика достаточно приятная, поначалу может быть тяжело держать авто в контролируемом заносе, однако как только научишься спустя недолгое время игры, так езда доставляет реально много удовольствия. Также, что мне нравится в игре, что в неё легко может погрузиться начинающий, кто даже особо может быть не знаком с гоночными играми вообще, и игра будет достаточно благосклонно к нему относиться, но при этом удовольствие получат и хардкорщики. Идеальная золотая середина. С ботами состязаться достаточно весело, они не ощущаются имбовыми, но и дают хороший челлендж даже на нормальной сложности, что я также могу поставить как плюс игре. Графика достаточно приятная на глаз, но специфичная. Не каждому понравится такой лоу поли, но лично мне очень зашло и это создаёт свой классный вайб. Также достаточно немалая часть игры построена на системе рекордов по времени на трассах, с возможностью смотреть призраки игроков, сортировать таблицу лидеров, чтобы мог видеть только своих друзей, и прочие полезные функции. С призраками тоже достаточно весело гонять, в особенности со своим, когда пытаешься побить свой рекорд и получить все звёзды на трассе. Мультиплеер тоже оставил достаточно приятные впечатления, настроек большое количество (правда не все очевидны), так что можно придумать любой интересующий себя сценарий, чтобы покатать с друзьями, либо получить испытание, проверить ваши навыки в незнакомой ситуации. Единственный главный минус, что я вижу, так это мёртвое комьюнити. Очень жаль, что у такой потрясающей гоночной игры такая маленькая фанбаза (где-то всего лишь ~500 игроков, я полагаю, и никто из них толком не активен, лишь парочку там, что в ежедневные испытания катают) Я ОПРЕДЕЛЁННО рекомендую эту игру к покупке, одна из лучших гоночных игр в стиме ВООБЩЕ. А на скидках вообще за копейки, можно сказать, продаётся. Edit: Если сомневаетесь, стоит ли покупать, то в демо версии есть мультиплеер. Зовите друзей и вместе наваливайтесь, там весь самый сок демки. Вообще очень приятно, что в мультиплеер можно играть бесплатно на демке со своими друзьями, не пиратя игру (и да, онлайн между лицухой и демкой поддерживается), однако в одиночке там лишь 3 невероятно скучных и нудных трассы, по которым хороших выводов об игре не сделаешь.

It's one damned fine racing game and worth every penny. I can't believe I passed this up for so long.

I've finally found the true spiritual successor to Skidmarks. This plays fabulously - the weight, grip and momentum are absolutely perfect, giving each car a properly distinct handling profile. Lots of pretty devious tracks, too. This is a simple and relatively un-flashy game, but is very much the real deal. Perhaps the best top down racer on Steam?

This really is a wonderful game. Without a doubt, the best arcade racer I've played since I started gaming (4+ decades now). Easy to play but difficult to master. Great car physics, a wide variety of tracks, this should be much more popular than it is. I've played both Horizon Chase Turbo and Art of Rally a fair bit, and whilst both are good fun, the Art of Rally is really the Art of Braking and Horizon Chase Turbo is fine, if you enjoy racers with rubber band mechanics. Oh and I love the music on this too...

This game has absolutely superb drifting mechanics and tons of content. The menus and presentation are not the best but good lord is the gameplay sublime.
