We Were Here... the place this series holds in my heart. This series was definitely what made me and my best friend get so close. Some parts of these games were so frustrating, but that annoyance adds so much to why I like this series so much. To this day, the biggest inside jokes between me and my best friend come from We Were Here. I LOVE THIS SERIES!!!!! Story - The plot thickens! Again, I know how the plot goes, but I loved the start of the game! Actually interacting with your duo at the beginning was a much appreciated change in this game. There are also more cutscenes with that other explorer guy... who is the Jester! We get to see Princess Katherine and learn more about the people and history of Castle Rock. I honestly really liked that they took parts of the other games and put them together for this game. And the ending where you either sacrifice yourself or sacrifice your duo?? That was so evil, I loved it! Also, the part where the Jester sings is hilarious. Love that guy (even though he's evil)! ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Characters - The explorers we played as were once again not unique really. But, there were more characters with decent designs! Princess Katherine was the goat of course, but no one was more iconic than the Jester. Honestly, he's the best character in the entire series! ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Mechanics - Pretty basic mechanics in this game, not much to comment on! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Visuals - There was much more to see in this game! Of course, I know the potential this series has (as of now We Were Here Tomorrow is not out yet) so technically the visuals of this game aren't all that, but they were still pretty! The rooms feel nostalgic in a weird way and I liked those "barrel" rooms. ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Soundtrack - The soundtrack for this game is more fun! There were more songs that fit the sections really well. Some were goofy and really added to the game!⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Puzzles - I LOVED the puzzles for this game. They were much more challenging and interesting to say the least! Even without rewatching a playthrough to jog my memory of the puzzles, they were still memorable. I could write about every single puzzle but we'd be here forever (pun intended). Very briefly, my favorite was the one with the two floored room with multiple puzzles in it. My best friend, however, will probably say her least favorite was the one where you make the potion out of those vegetables with faces while the other player gets to watch the Jester sing. Honorable mention to "The Barrel" haha!⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Duo playability - Of course, this game was so duo-y. Much more than the other two! Because there were more types of puzzles, you and your duo have to trust each other a lot more. There's also a certain amount of being able to read your duo's mind necessary! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I genuinely love this series and can't wait for it to continue. Were we here? YES WE WERE!!!

I know this is a puzzle game, but it's literally the worst game I've ever played. The puzzles are hard, which I like. But some doesn't make any sense. Especially chapter 6. The logic is just so dumb, nothing make sense. Me and my friend moved over to discord and shared our screens, tried to figure it out. But we couldn't, because his screen was showing random ♥♥♥♥ that didn't match mine.
Отругали за то что тупой и не шарю в головоломках
厕中之厕 从来没觉得一个游戏这么史过
spoilers ahead. and heads up this comes from a couple who love puzzle games. tbh this is definitely the weakest we were here game. several puzzles were a dumb choice for what is meant to be a collaborative puzzle game. one made me soo mad. you had to make your room match to your partner's room including making a clock *sound* the same. have you ever tried to describe the type of ticking a clock is making with no other ticking sound for reference. it is impossible. how can I say how hollow or how digital a ticking sound is with no other sound for reference. how can i say the pitch of the cuckoo? so annoyed. what I enjoy about this series is the challenge it presents and how much you must rely on your partner and communication skills to complete the puzzles. this game had several puzzles that were pretty collaborative and fun... but the puzzles that didn't work sucked so bad. the bridge puzzle was pretty much entirely up to one person to solve as the other had to just... walk on the bridge. Multiple puzzles were so complicated to explain to one another we ended up drawing it. the TIMED fuse puzzle and the pipe puzzles were too complicated to explain and took hours. My favorite room was the plant room as it all made sense, and I didn't mind the ladder puzzle to get water even though it took a few tries. and the final puzzle making the soul stone was very fun. overall I was disappointed. I am glad I played it as it was still quality time with my boyfriend... but we bonded over frustration and critiquing the games design more than enjoying the puzzles. :(
