We Only Come Out at Night

This was a great little Metroidvania! A not-too-difficult RPG with a classic vibe that's more centered around delivering the player a fun experience, with an engaging story and an absolute BANGER of a soundtrack. Would definitely recommend this, especially if you're looking to play your first Metroidvania.

Charming, all ages story with unique gameplay and a GREAT soundtrack. Classic RPG combat against familiar horror/fantasy mainstays will (in addition to XP, gold, etc.) net you rewards in the form of outside-combat powerups that range from a simple dash to blasting lighting or using your echolocation to see in pitch black rooms. One of the least appealing elements of a lot of RPGs is the uneventful down-time between battles. We Only Come Out At Night substitutes just pressing the auto move key for an involved, but not overly-stressful platforming experience that has you solving puzzles, dodging traps and blitzing through a diverse range of Atari style environments full of great effects. Great choince if you're looking for something nostalgic that doesn't take a hundred hours to have a good payoff.

Wonder game love everything from the music to the dialogue between the characters very smooth to play and easy to follow. helpful tips through out the way are very nice to have as well great game to have very easy to get into its fun right off the bat

Fun game with multiple mechanics. Reminds me of old SNES games.

Great game. A super chill little indie RPG with great pixel art and a fun spooky vibe. Very interesting to play as what would traditionally be an RPG enemy. Combat is simple and fun, exploration is relaxing and is very easy to get lost into. Never felt stressful or grindy. This game feels very cozy and full of personality.

Some bugs with the game but overall a very fun rpg.

A heartfelt, cozy journey where you take the role of characters who are usually depicted as enemies in traditional RPGs. The gameplay is satisfying in a thoughtful combination of side-scrolling platforming and turn-based RPG combat. The graphics are nostalgic and relaxing, blending retro pixel art with accents of higher fidelity pixel art. Good narratives are the main driver of most RPGs and We Only Come Out At Night is no exception. Quirky characters, playful dialogue interlaced amongst a touching overarching narrative is a joy to experience. If you're into traditional RPGs and enjoy engaging side-scrolling elements, this one's for you. I'll close with a deep admiration of the immersive and atmospheric soundtrack; it's one wrought with care and a keen understanding that music is an essential element in every RPG. Give this game a try and I assure you that you'll find something that you can appreciate. I look forward to seeing what else the developer & company come up with for future releases!
