A game truly made by someone who loves video games, the impact they can have on our perception of the world around us, and the healing they can give us when we least expect it. Best $8 I've ever spent in my entire life, and I implore all to do the same.
I don't normally leave reviews, which is a testament to how much this game moved me, and what an experience it was. This game was recommended and gifted to me by a friend who loves it dearly, and I can't thank her enough for giving me the pleasure to play this beautiful game. Not only is the combat incredibly fun, and the story thought provoking, but the dialogue is moving, and open ended to your interpretation and how you relate it to yourself. Despite the dialogue being the same for me and her, the same scene could have very different memories and experiences from our own lives they made us recall, which led to different reactions and the meaning it held to us. One scene that she had no real emotional reaction to was one of the hardest for me because of different experiences in our lives, an interpretation of the dialogue that never really even occurred to her. While the game isn't perfect, nothing really is, and it's beautiful just as it is, flaws and all. I couldn't recommend this game any more highly, and while I could go on for hours about this game and what it has meant to me, I truly don't think my words could ever do it justice. So instead of me going on about what this game means to me, I say to play it for yourself, experience it for yourself, and come to your own conclusion of what it means to you.

This game take inspiration from Mothe3r and gameplay from Undertale, there no doubt about that after finishing this game, i would say there is good unique story, if you look pass some of the faults, would i recommend it? i would say YES. i am totally agree with some of the reviewer saying that some of the enemy encounter drag alot of the time, which kill the exploration on this game (searching loots for upgrade), the dev should have scale down the world, there no need for large map. You guys got a good story. Gameplay: Decent Graphics: Decent (honestly, if the dev have better pixel art, it would have got more attention) Music: Decent (its classic bit music, only 1 complain for us its the metro train music is so annoying with that BANG noise) Story: Good (so for we like the story, it start off slow. if you get to the mid section, it gradually become good) Game Time: 8 - 10+ hours”
This was absolutely sublime. Just, beautiful. A friend was watching me stream for the first couple hours, came back a few hours later, and I ordered them to get out of the stream because I would not let them be spoiled. It's just... The only game I've had anywhere near this emotional of a reaction to was Jimmy & The Pulsating Mass, and that was just depressing emotional gut punches. This... There's some sad tears through out, but laughs and happy ones at the end. It's just... I love this so much
I cannot recommend this game enough. I just played through this game over the course of a few streams. I spent just shy of 16 hours in game and roughly a half hour to an hour was spent afk altogether for breaks. This game will pull exactly zero of it's emotional gut punches. Some parts will hit closer to home than others between different people, but this game is big on dealing emotional damage. I cried multiple times during my stream. This game tugs at your heartstrings multiple times. This game has un-apologetically lgbt friendly aspects and I'm here for exactly all of them. The combat is exceptionally well done. Some aspects are more difficult than others. There is even a mechanic that makes fights easier should you die in fight you can buff yourself so you can go back in and have an easier time with the fight. There is another review that claims the world maps are too large which I personally disagree with. The sizing of the maps help hide the different items scattered around and encourages exploration and utilized environmental storytelling. Said review also claimed that the fights drag on which is in my experience dramatically untrue. The fights can take a few moments, especially while you aren't properly upgraded or don't have a proper strategy. But the only fights that take extended periods of time are the boss fights which are meant to take more time and be more difficult. Overall my only thought for something that can objectively be improved on is some typos scattered throughout the game, which are all little things like an extra letter or one too few letters or one instance of the word "to" used unnecessarily. Which felt weird but are all subtle or slight enough for you to understand whats going on and what was meant. None of them are egregiously bad. The gameplay is great, the music is great, the art is stylized in a way that works particularly well for the game. The Story is phenomenal. The story builds gradually enough for you to start not fully knowing or understanding what is going on. But slowly but surely you gain details and context for you to better understand the world around you. I personally say the pacing for story and difficulty is exceptionally well done. If you haven't played it yet, go play it. Its among my favorite games if not my favorite game I've played.
tl;dr: Just play the game. I have no idea how this game has been out 8+ months and still has so few reviews. At least they're all positive. I knew I was in for something special when the trailer made me cry. The game has a demo, but my gut told me I should just buy the game because it's highly unlikely I'll be disappointed. And I was right. This game is fantastic. This game contends with the question "What does it mean to be human?" It's answer doesn't disappoint. Gameplay-wise, this game is heavily inspired by Mother 3, Undertale, and Touhou. The combat is not particularly hard (played on the highest difficulty "Challenging" the entire game and never had a gameover), but if you struggle with bullet hell games like Touhou, you might want to reduce the difficulty, which you can do at any time from any menu in the game, including battle menus. The game is very story focused and has non-respawning combat encounters, which is fine, because the story is worth telling. If you have ever struggled with existential dread, you'll likely find moments of resonance throughout it's telling. In terms of issues: - The dialogue has typos in a few places (missing words and misspelled words), but nothing was egregious. - The environment would benefit from more gracious collision (namely when running, it'd be nice if when you hit a corner then it would nudge you toward the open side instead of triggering a wall crash). - A later minigame that has you collecting material to build a planet triggers audio breaks when you collect too many collectibles at once. This is seemingly unavoidable toward the end of the minigame.
Obvious Mother/Earthbound influence aside, I love any game that gives me more questions than answers at the end of it. Some of the storyline was a little confusing at first, but it kept me intrigued enough to want to finish it. Love how parts of the soundtrack are interpolated for battles and then back to the original when exploring. I wanted maybe about another two hours worth of plot and maybe some sidequest stuff. All in all, I'd give this a 7.5 or even an 8/10. I will definitely play it again in a few months with fresh eyes and ears.
Excellent game. Well worth a play through if you are a fan of RPGs.
very good. made me cry. not that that's hard to do but the point is it's very endearing
The game's got a fun combat system with a unique and fun art style with a lot to offer.
