We Are Not Alone is a story-driven point and click adventure, with just the right amount of suspense and horror to keep you captivated throughout. It's a slow burner, but you won't want to stop playing to figure out what mysteries lie within. It's a very unique take on horror with multiple camera angles, which I have not seen done before. Also, the game does not rely on jump scares, but rather, atmosphere that induces feelings of trepidation. I highly recommend this game for those looking for a good suspense / horror story to sink their teeth into!
WANA Was my first point & click adventure, but found it alot of fun working out what to do and where to go, also loved the jumping from first to third person, kept the game interesting, i did have internal panic everytime i put the camera down, worrying i would die! Super keen to play again and try get more of the Achievements and a different ending!
What a fantastic game! This was a nice mix of terror, tension, and horror along with some sci-fi sprinkles on top with SCP vibes. The switch between 1st and 3rd person to handle different scenarios was really cool and something I had not really seen done in a horror game before in my experience. Really enjoyed the ambiance throughout the game and the growing anxiety of something happening in this bunker. The story was fantastic as well and fed you throughout the game until the big reveal. Game is 100% worth the money and time investment (which are small). Oh and shoutout to my friends Diana and Van for voice acting!
Aside from a misstep in the first hour involving a simple to solve puzzle, I thoroughly enjoyed this. It has a kind of unique FPS and Third Person pont & click visual gameplay element. The reasons for it feel kind of silly from a narrative standpoint, but it works. It's not scary, at least not for me. The atmosphere tries to keep you on edge but it never truly felt like there was any danger. I did die a few times though. The story is where the game shines. It starts out simple enough but quickly becomes more complex. The voice acting is good. It feels a little amateurish at times, which isn't a bad thing. I thought it added some realism to everything. Puzzles were a little annoying at times. Your character makes statements about something that makes you think you need some overly complex way to solve a puzzle. It usually just mean you need to interact using an object in your inventory. Most of the puzzles are very logical and are smooth sailing. Pacing is pretty spot on. The last quarter of the game fells a little off, but generally everything moves along at a very satisfying pace. In the end I'd suggest thinking of this as an adventure game with very slight horror elements, It's a joyful romp. Definitely worth it.
I got this game on sale, and I am so entertained for the price point. The jank and voice acting actually add to the charm and I found myself getting sucked in and had a hard time putting it down to go to bed. Can't wait to finish, well done!
I like this type of game Explore puzzle tension, start with no idea what is going on. The camera idea i like as it adds another layer to the story. you have to be aware of the dynamic with the other people, do they have their own agenda, can you trust them? One big plus is that the Devs are great at sorting any bugs or game-play issues which in my opinion is always how it should be, but alas we all know that it isn`t. So if you like this type of game and first class dev support then this is a game for you!
It seems like a clever premise but the execution just winds up being awkward. The action sequences are frustrating and annoying as you can't logically work out what you should be doing - so you get splattered before you can guess what the developers meant for you to do. I ran in circles for a while but eventually I just gave up and hugged "her" so I could be done with my suffering. I want to recommend it, but I just can't. Edit to reply to developer:
In the first encounter with the entity, you are trying to go to the bathroom when you run into her. A logical response might be to run back to your room, which the character refuses. The bathroom is inexplicably locked, so you can't proceed. Plus, since you have to click where you need to go (frantically, because the creature is bearing down on you) but many spots on screen are active so the character pauses to casually let you know that she is not in the mood to sit on the couch. So, two things: First, if I'm not meant to go to the bathroom now, a reasonable reaction from the character about the bathroom might be better as "Not now, I'm about to be eaten." A lock on an unoccupied bathroom seems to suggest that I'm meant to unlock it. Second, if your dorm room is not safe because the entity will follow you there, then by definition *nowhere* is safe - no other location makes logical sense to go to. If there is another location that might be better for ... reasons(?) then the character needs to suggest that.
Well written game and story. The graphics aren't top notch but it really doesn't matter. There is a whole ambiance that is a bit tense and mysterious. You even get attached to the characters and want to know more about their story. I miss games like those. Please, we need more games like this one
Just a quick summary

Pros
+ intriguing story,
yet it became somewhat obvious in the middle part of the game
+ unique approach to mix fixed cameras and first-person + quite straightforward puzzles, so you won't get lost + good atmosphere of isolation in a sort of creepy bunker with a shadow creature walking around + personnaly, I didn't face any of the (soft-lock) bugs
Cons
- the story becomes somewhat stereotyped in the end
(I mean zombie apoc thing)
- some doors are not placed correctly and you see the default unity skybox through cracks (this is my personal remark, sorry :D) - no super intense situations; and fighting can be just using items on enemy -- like in old point-n-click quests ;) - the controls in fixed camera mode are a bit stiff - characters animations...well...the characters sometimes can move like they slipping on the ice :D - graphics...it's okay, just standard unity graphics, maybe a stylization would help attract more players - Can I be honest? The average Steam player will not pay for the game 15$, this is also my personal remark. Maybe 8-10$..will be fine.
Anyway, even the game has flaws, it will keep you busy solving the mystery. Good job Andrew!

7/10
