This is one of better turnbased CRPG, so if you like games like XCOM, ATOM RPG and classic Fallout, then Wasteland 3 is something for you. One of the key different between Wasteland 2 and 3 is that the game mechanics has been modified, both the C.L.A.S.S.I.C. system, perk system and also the crafting system has been vastly improved. Wasteland 3 is more polished and also offer full voice acting now. Pros: - Fair Story/Plot - Long campaign - Great Graphics - Nostalgia (Fallout) - Cool soundtrack - Huge open world - Great crafting system Cons: - Poor optimized - Few crashes - Some game breaking bugs - Terrible perks system - Weak Enemies AI
An excellent game! I rarely play games that I have beaten twice but this one was an exception. The story, the characters, and the systems that they've put in place are great. The depiction of Ronald Regan as a Giant Laser Bot was hilarious. I'm really excited to see what this developer is working on next. They've clearly shown that they understand how player agency works. This is a solid recommendation to anyone who is looking for another high quality crpg. I also have to mention this is a great game for any newcomers to the genre. It is easy to get into and understand.
Watered down version of Wasteland 2. Only one overworld, smaller maps, less quests, shorter quests, got rid of character portraits for 3D close-ups in dialogue, unnecessary crafting. There's almost no point to exploring the overworld unless you have a quest marker. There are large portions of the map that just go unused, I guess they were reserved for the DLC that came out? I'll never know since those have absolutely god awful reviews. They got rid of shrines and only have lackluster caches dotted around the map to boot. Levels seem to cap out around ~25 when you could get close to 50 in the second game. You'll finish the last side quest without realizing it and the next thing you know, you're going to the point of no return. If you have a choice between Wasteland 2 or Wasteland 3, just go with the second game and skip this one until it's on sale.
good game, it a tier below divinity on turn based fun, so it still extremely enjovable, just avoid the dlcs
满地图的收集装备和资源,本来以为自己很强了,,结果大后期的敌人首轮一通开枪闪光biubiubiu,秒的还剩一个护甲最高的近战,经常靠面包机,机车、机器人和动物打伤害
This game is most easy to compare with Fallout Tactics and new XCOMs. And it loses to both. First let's talk combat because it's 90% of the game. There are several mechanics missing in the combat: - Sneaking - Hiding behind walls or obstacles - Verticality And because of that all combat encounters feel exactly the same even though you get better weapons. You have a feeling that you instead of walking through natural cities or landscapes you rather go from a combat area to combat area. Each looking like a square field with scattered barrels, boxes and barricades. And they are all the same. In Fallout Tactics you mostly fight in urban settings, you can climb on the roofs and set up sniper nests, you need to fight in small rooms, throw grenades into caves etc. In XCOM even though the maps are procedurally generated they still look fresh most of the time. Even in Wasteland 2 the combat areas had more variety. Now, about the plot and quests. The only good thing I can say about it is that it teaches you that often there are no good options and you choose between two evils. That's pretty rare to say. Usually the RPG games have clear good vs evil explanation and you play as a "good" character but in real life choosing between two evils is a thing and I'm glad someone points that out in the game. +1. The quests mostly are independent and have no influence on the general plot aside from minor details like available merchants. Voice acting is not really believable, sorry. Too much acting. And the dialogs themselves are fairly boring and straightforward. The main theme of the game are cults, religion and affinity to clans but besides that there is nothing interesting. Compared to that even Fallout 2 explored more society models: gangs in New Reno, military government in San Francisco, elites in Vault 7, small gangs in Den etc. Each city felt different and had its own philosophy. In Wasteland 3 you don't have cities basically so that part is lost. Again even in Wasteland 2 it was better. Lastly, some words about inventory, skills and perks. They are mostly balanced except for the Initiative which is totally useless. Unfortunately due to some bugs, there are couple of OP perks which, once you acquire them, turn a game into a joke even on hardest difficulty. Those could've been patched long time ago but never were. Also armor level is totally useless in this game. On harder difficulties even with armor level close to 100 enemies will kill you in 1-2 shots as if you had 0 armor. Other than that the inventory management and crafting feels good and logical. Maybe would be interesting to see some randomness in weapon stats. So that when you get 4 Guardians they don't have the same damage and range but slightly different. But still it's ok. If you want to play a tactical RPG, rather look for something else. Wasteland 3 will be a waste of your time most likely
I don't normally post reviews but this had been a truly disappointing buggy experience. I'm glad it is over.
Great game. Decisions really matter both for story and game play consequences. Decent story. Draws you in and is quite addictive. I got 40 hours into one thorough play through, so you get a decent amount of value from it. Sometimes controls can be annoying and cause you to do incorrect things, but you can constantly quick save, so that makes up for it. Good RPG aspects to characters too. A lot of customization approaches. One of the better games I have played, one of the best of this type.
