Very fun and well thought out and easy to navigate.
All in all the game is fine. It has a slow start, especially when you come from VTOL VR, but when you play more, it opens up when it comes to missions and the aircraft you have. There is just one small, yet major problem I have, which is why I give this game a thumbs down: The enemies are too frigging passive and pacifists. In all those hours that I've played the game, the only enemies that have actively attacked me are helicopters and SAM vehicles. Everything else is basically a sitting duck. Jets just fly around without attacking you, ships won't use their missiles on you and ground vehicles only start shooting at you when you basically sit on top of them. Oh, and speaking of ground vehicles, most of the time they just sit there and won't move at all, even if you hammer them with machine gun fire. This is results in the game being piss easy. Even in defensive or escort missions, the enemy will barely engage with the target you are supposed to attack. And that is on missions the game rates as Hard. And it's a shame, because it could be a nice game. It has it quirks of course, like helicopter controls being somewhat arkward, that your home base is on a separate instance and landing and taking off is very basic and that you can't freely switch between modes in VTOL capable vehicles, but have to be at certain speeds. Still, it does have its moments. You can respray your aircraft to any color you want and having AI teammates with you on the field gives it a more cinematic feel. It could have been a nice, casual alternative to VTOL VR, but with how it currently is, you will breeze through the game without much of a challenge.
This game is damn fun! I've been playing it via link on a Quest 1 with the ThrustMaster T.Flight HOTAS One, and though the outdated hardware's resolution could be better, (fingers crossed for the Steam Frame this year), it is an absolutely fantastic blast of a time! I can't fly in real life due to color blindness, but this makes me happy enough I suppose. The only feature I'd like to see in future updates and titles from this developer would be the option to customize the colors of specific HUD elements. Over time I've gotten used to slight movements in my peripheral in combination with whatever is happening on the map when I remember to switch to it, but if I could get a few things to appear in a hue of blue instead of green or whatever color it is...against a backdrop of a grassy hill, that'd be just dandy! Any top level/whole console type color correction straight up sucks, so I'll stick to my learned understanding of whatever is happening on screen/in headset as opposed to the entire experience looking like a weird interpretation of a strange dream. "Well that's what it would look like in real life. You're a piece of poop and can't fly." Not referring to a mean person on the internet or anything. But, duh. If you could read or punctuate sentences, or were educated on the topic of what's realistically a disability that I didn't ask for, then, boy howdy! Bless your heart! This is a video game, not real life, and customizable HUD element colors would be the icing on the cake! Otherwise, keep up the good work! This game is an absolute blast to play! Also, the ability to hide the pilot's hands (if usings a HOTAS), and specific surround sound settings would be wicked awesome!
This game is amazing. It may not graphically be the most impressive but it does what most other VR flying games don't, and that's render an actual 3D world around you. Most VR flying games fudge it by projecting a 2.5D image onto the cockpit windows and it looks like crap and fully ruins immersion, particularly common with non-VR ports. Controls are awesome here, and the vehicles are really fun to operate. Campaign is kind of rinse and repeat the same few mission types but it's cool to unlock new jets and helicopters and figure them out. Progression and upgrades feel slightly minimal but if you want to go fast and blow stuff up in VR jets, it doesn't get better.
