About
VTOL VR is a near-futuristic combat flight game built specifically for Virtual Reality. Pilot advanced multi-role jets, using your hands to flip switches, press buttons, and manipulate the virtual flight controls. Take on a wide array of challenges that will put your flight skills, situational awareness, and combat tactics to the test.
No extra hardware is required. If you have a VR set with tracked controllers, then you have a virtual cockpit where you can reach out and interact with the stick and throttle, flip switches, press buttons, and even pull the eject handle if things go wrong.
Immerse yourself in action packed combat missions, delicate vertical landings, aircraft carrier operations, aerial refueling and more.
Create and fly custom missions which you can share with other pilots using the built-in mission editor and map editor.
Join fellow pilots online for PVP or PVE multiplayer missions!

It's so damn good. Being able to actually physically turn, touch and flick every dial, button and switch is so satisfying. You can even load your own music into the on-board mp3 player and blast danger zone every time you take off. Despite the attention to physical haptic detail, it doesn't sacrifice much depth because of it and is still decently hard to master. They even went and added 2-seater aircraft (helicopter, training jet and then electronic warfare jet) as DLC. The only tiniest gripe I could have with this game, is I wish there was MORE. More aircraft, more maps, more missions. I want to give these guys more of my money. Thank god for modding at least. This is what VR is all about.

For less than the price of one DCS module, you get VTOL, STOVL, 5th Gen fighters, Conventional T/O and Landing, Multi crew, helicopters, electronic warfare, the most advanced radar cross section modeling of any flight sim available on Steam, fully interactable cockpits, and a community willing to teach, make liveries, and produce high quality mods. There is no reason to not pick up this title if you have VR and a love for military aviation.
This is a pretty good game, but I'm not sure why people compare this game to DCS. If DCS was Coca-Cola, than VTOL VR would be a bottle of Jack Daniels. You may need to choose between the two, but they both serve different purposes.
There are so many things that make this game amazing, however, I have some tiny problems that aren't really that big. First of all, the flight in this game is impeccable and smooth, with the cockpit having all the same buttons and switches as a real plane. except, it's much lower detail. I know it's so it's easier for the player, but an option for realistic cockpits would be amazing. Secondly, the tutorials are great and are super helpful to learn the game's mechanics, but I wish you could just play all of the steps at once, just to speed up the process. There are also occasionally times where they don't show you what to press and it can be very confusing. The tutorials also don't show everything there is to be learnt, some of which can be really useful. Thirdly, there aren't many jets/aircraft to fly, which I can understand as developing a game is difficult and takes time, but it would be awesome to see some of the planes I love, like the Osprey or the A-10 in this game. Overall, it's an incredible, realistic virtual reality flight sim, and the playerbase is great. It's absolutely worth your money and makes you feel like a true fighter pilot. (PS: Do NOT play if you get motion sick easily, you are literally flying virtual planes.)
LOVE THIS GAME. Perfect inbetween between realistic and arcade,
only took me 70 hours and now I can shoot things! I have played this game many times I struggled for a long time on how to use the weapon systems. I played the F45 mission over and over. I have done it. A few nights ago I was flying around targeting land and air and shooting rockets. I thought OMG I'm doing it! I'm watching rockets zip from under me and actually shoot down target while I'm dong rolls. This game is such a blast I recommend it for anyone who likes to fly and or shoot.
its an amazing fun game and has in my opinion a great community besides the kids they are toxic
If you wanna fly and enjoy realistic air combat, radar system, electronic warfare and good physics... without reading a 23047608977 page manual just to turn on an aim 9, then this game is absolutely for you.
