About

Warlord: Awaji is the second entry in a series of immersive strategy games created by Darkmatter Games. Step into the shoes of a legendary samurai warlord, given special command and orders from the Emperor to conquer an entire island and save a regime teetering on the edge of collapse.
A unique combination of first-person strategy elements places Warlord: Awaji in a genre of its own. Immersive strategy, pioneered by Darkmatter Games, fixes the player in the shoes of their character, while presenting them with complex strategic gameplay. Lead an army, construct your camp, conquer villages and forts, and disrupt dynamic enemy forces in a sprawling open world–entirely from this immersive strategy perspective. Turn the tide of battle by engaging directly in the action yourself, fighting alongside your own hand picked warriors fully in real time.
The world of Warlord: Awaji is a sprawling island created using real heightmap data of its eponymous location, replete with dozens of temples and shrines from real life. Travel the roads cautiously and keep your eyes on the treelines, as civilian convoys and roaming warrior bands criss-cross the open world in real time. The local clans will react aggressively to your exploits, so choose your actions carefully. Strategically target strongpoints to weaken enemy quick-reaction forces. Capture rival clans' shrines to boost your spiritual aura and harm theirs. Work with esoteric warrior monks to curse your enemies and coordinate powerful coalition attacks.
Your warriors are your most important weapon. Recruit and maintain a powerful retinue of samurai. Use conquered land to promote leaders and expand your army's capacity while organizing its battle formation in any way you like using an intuitive drag-and-drop menu. Each individual has a unique name and gains experience over time through heroic action. Give your best warriors advanced weapons and armor to boost their lethality in combat. Form diverse groups of melee, ranged, and cavalry troops. Mix and match to find the best army composition and crush the opposition.
Construct a samurai war camp anywhere in the open world. Pitch tents and provide your troops with a variety of needs, including sleep, rest, and sustenance. Put up screens and fences to establish a perimeter. Set guards to keep watch in the dark hours of the night. At any time, you may pack up and relocate your camp, allowing for complex strategic maneuvers. Decide where and when to set up your base, and which direction to move in as you explore the vast open world.
All of the weapons, armor, structures, names, and gameplay elements are inspired directly from extant literary, iconographic, and archeological sources. Darkmatter Games, with the help of world leading experts on samurai warfare, has painstakingly recreated the 14th century world of medieval Japan in unrivaled detail. Historical authenticity is the core element of the Warlord franchise. Prepare to experience the visceral world of the samurai like never before seen.

great game, you can clearly see many improvements from the last game he made. but besides that this game scratches that itch of leading a samurai army into battle while leading the charge.
I keep having a 21 man army chasing down my 10 man army across the entire map. Can’t get passed maybe 30-45 mins of gameplay before they just chase me until they inevitably catch me and kill me. Restarted multiple times. And the only guide videos show people starting in different areas. At this time, I’m not recommending the game. Having an army over 2x your size chase you down to the ends of the earth while you’re still working on tutorial content is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.

Gonna keep it 100. The negative reviews saying this isn't like or an upgrade from Britannia are smoking rocks. I want to know what version of Britannia they played because this game is way better in every feasible way. It runs great, it is fun, and it is a nice little game to play when I am chilling out after work. 10/10, now Darkmatters needs to make something with pike and ball. I think he could do a 100 Years War game
tres bon jeux et les touche vous pouvez les changer et c'est pas compliquer a jouer avec les touche deux de basse mais pour linstant peut etre vite repetitive, je suis au debut peut etre que ca bouge plus loin a voir
Amazing game, its a new title with new mechanics. Read the negative reviews but remember this isnt warlord Britannia. It's Awaji. The content given, progression, new UI, gameplay surrounded by conquering and managing your men's weapons and armor is super fulfilling. Havent had so much fun razing and slaughtering armies and expanding my armory!
Best samurai warlord experience I ever had. Small issues can be found, but nothing game breaking, like enemies do not leave their "stations" at night allowing you to murderize them. EDIT: Forgot to mention, you can build your own Daimyo camp.
不失为我浮躁心灵的一剂良药。
Warlord Awaji puts you on the ground as a commander of a growing army. Every soldier has a name and you hand create a camp to support them. The whole game is played in real time in first person. There is no separate overworld map which makes Awaji feel very engaging and immersive. It improved on Warlord Britannia, reduced micro managing and added QoL improvements. I do miss porters and the baggage train
