Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0.14/day in the week to Aug 21 → 0.14/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 25 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 10 places towards #1, and the 2,413 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Somehow better than the Civ IV version, even if the dated interface can be a little clunky at times.
Didn't take me a lot of hours to win the game again, but it felt nice getting back in time when this was best of the turn based strategies :D . I'll put some spoiler here: easiest path is to create one colony and then declare independence, because all of your defenses will be focused. Also - while silver mines might seem as the best choice in the beginning - keep in mind that they run dry at some point. And no Indians village will be buying silver (unlike, for example, cigars, rum, coats, etc.). Back in the days, it was possible to manually edit text files (haven't checked if that is still the case), so brother and I translated everything to Serbian - it was possible even to rewrite/translate who made the game on the loading screen. So it was very funny when we ran the game and friends thought we created the game :D .

anyone who wants to become a game designer can draw some inspiration from the functionality of this game. it's a formula that feels forgotten in the modern day.
I wanted to see if it was as addictive as I remember. It is. I also settled New Amsterdam, Fortified it with my 1 troop, then sent my Ship back to port in The Netherlands, endless End Turn loop you can never get out of. Don't do this...
A 90s classic. A simpler time. Pre-Civ complications yet still wonderfly addictive. One...more....turn
I have been playing Colonization for years on end. its 10 out 10 all the time. The music is great. the game is fun. and its never gets old.
Finally a game which shows respect to the great age of european exploration. And fixes the issue so many strategy games have where the end game becomes a foregone conclusion or takes too much grinding to reach. You can go to the endgame any time you want, and all you have to do is survive, then retake your cities. Brilliant design.

Man, I can still kill hours with this.
Made two years before I graced god's blue and green earth, Sid Meiers was releasing time killing classics that after a bit of learning still hold up well to this day in gameplay. It's eaten almost two days and I plan to feed it more, easily one of the best PC games of it's era.
