I had almost forgotten how this game came out during the 7th gen consoles. The final boss is a QTE, which is probably my biggest complaint with this game. Outside of that, the game made me feel powerful and fragile. I would die extremely quickly or I would be ripping and tearing before DOOM 2016 popularized it more. It's good. I'm glad I played it on PC. The enemy counts are absurd and I got high frame rates that held steady. I encountered a consistent crash that required me to verify the game's files. There's bugs where NPCs required to progress the story simply don't move. One time I had to walk behind an NPC and push her into the elevator to get the cutscene to start. Enemies would get stuck on walls. Basically funny and annoying bugs that didn't ruin the experience. I bring this up because this may happen to you too. One last thing, I know next to nothing about Warhammer. I would have been too poor to fully participate in that hobby. That's why I'm glad more Warhammer games are coming. I get to experience at least parts of this universe. I'd consider this game a classic, so I do recommend it.
крутая игра, действия производят 21 орден суповаров, игра 9/20 лояльных примархов
That was a very fun and enjoyable ride, I liked quite a lot to a point I actually finished it, a rarity nowadays. Its a straightforward no nonsense shooter. Its linear, simple and with no level up crap, good stuff. Reminded of Gears of War but without a cover system. I am mostly unware of the 40K lore and universe, but this was a nice entry point to it. The Ultramarines felt so comically over powered innthis universe that I put it on easy and just rode on the power fantasy. :D
"I will endure a thousand deaths before I yield!" - Captain Titus
💀Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine (Anniversary Edition) – A Brutal Story Shooter That Still Holds Up Today Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine was my first contact with the games of the 40k universe, which is truly huge with its variety and the sheer number of titles available. From strategy games and RPGs to action shooters like this one, there is something for almost every taste. The combat and controls feel a little clunky by today’s standards, but they are still a lot of fun. The combat system is brutal and offers a good selection of weapons. Alongside the legendary chainsword, you can also use additional melee weapons as well as various ranged weapons such as pistols, sniper rifles, grenade launchers, and more. The especially cool part are the brutal executions that can be performed with the weapons, which fit perfectly with the atmosphere of the game. In addition, the Space Marine has access to further equipment and abilities that add more variety to the combat. The story is epic, dark, and brutal, just as you would expect from Warhammer 40,000. The campaign is divided into individual chapters that can be replayed at any time after completion. The difficulty is well balanced on "Normal." On "Hard," the game becomes a little more demanding and offers a bit of a challenge in some sections, without becoming unfair or overly difficult. The game’s age is naturally noticeable in its visuals. The graphics are somewhat outdated by now, but overall the game has aged surprisingly well and still plays solidly today. I was particularly surprised by the online mode. There, you fight alongside other players against waves of enemies. Different classes, weapons, and customization options provide variety. Surprisingly, you can still occasionally find other players even today. In the few rounds I played, I had a lot of fun with the online mode overall. ⚜️Conclusion: Despite its age, Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine is still an enjoyable, brutal action shooter with a strong atmosphere. Anyone who can look past the somewhat dated visuals and is looking for uncompromising combat in the 40k universe should definitely give this game a chance.
Actually just feels genuinely awful to play, bravo to whoever came up with a game centered around baiting players into trying to have fun, around the 100th time you die right as the execution ends you stop using it and just stick to the bolter and then its a boring gears of war clone. I remember the devs calling this an "anti-cover based shooter" when it first came out and that's hilarious way to put a game that is still a cover based shooter in soul just removes the cover button.
