No.1 !! !!
I LOVE this game, I've been gaming for over 25 years, I've played hundreds if not thousands of games(if we include flash games) and this game is EASILY in my top 20. The fact that I've also been obsessed with Wuxia since I was a toddler probably helps but I digress. To be honest I think this is pretty self-evident. Once you spend an hour in the game I am overly confident that you will see its charm. So I'm not going to write an essay of platitudes. Instead, I want to address some of the frankly ridiculous criticisms I've seen thrown at the game. 1. You do not need to recruit every single companion in the game on your first play through. It is actually insane to tell new players that they need to consult the companion guide on first playthrough. The game is about choices and if you choose to ignore the dialogue then you're going to miss the relevant information that goes towards recruitment. Because the game literally SHOWS YOU IN THE TUTORIAL VILLAGE THAT EVERY SINGLE RECRUITABLE CHARACTER HAS UNIQUE CONDITIONS FOR RECRUITMENT. (Hint: if a character has art that seems like it has a little more effort and they aren't an old man then they are probably recruitable) 2. It is not a bad thing if you do not get the best ending on your first run. This game has multiple endings whether for the main ending or the endings to the character arcs. So you're actually missing out on a big chunk of the game if you only try to see the happily ever after. Trust me it is not fun trying to purposefully play bad just to see the rest of the game. So unless you intend to only play once. You'd rather get rest of the endings out of the way early. 3. The Quest aren't complicated you are overcomplicating them. The story only progresses when you do. Meaning when the main quest is telling you to go to a specific place. As long as you don't go there you can go to literally every other place in the game(if its available). So nothing is "easily" missed. If you choose to just go from one main mission to the next which isn't advisable in ANY RPG why are you complaining about missing things??? I also saw someone say the quest can't be done "out of order" which is confusing the hell out of me. Because there is only the main quest and then side quests(which you get by exploring the map). You can only do them "out of order" if you were trying to get a specific character interaction from a recruitable NPC. Which as a new player is not something you should be concerning yourself about. As a new player if you go into this game feeling like you NEED to play a specific kind of way you will not have fun... straight up.
