I want to start this review immediately with my wish for more content in this game, I had the game before I got it on steam so don't let my playing time fool you but I've played VRRCC a few times now, mostly short sessions due to the lack of content, but for me there is no low replayability, on the contrary, the game feels good and not only in terms of controls and physics, also the sounds of the cart and more. Watch me mess around with planks and stuff: https://youtu.be/hWg1YY1AmD8 A peaceful quiet sunny afternoon around your house in a cozy neighborhood, just as you remember it when you were a younger person playing outside at your home, or visiting a friend or family, that feeling where you can feel innocent without any worries. could have fun and everything in the area went well to achieve the right atmosphere, this little game VRRCC goes nicely in the direction of this atmosphere, despite the lack of content. You have your house without attached neighbors so where you can go all the way around, an open veranda at the front of the house and a small cozy backyard with some garden-related objects and an empty swimming pool, you will also find a skateboard there but skating yourself is not possible, but I will come back to this skateboard in a moment. In addition to the comfy environment around your house, you also have the street in front where you can move freely, although limited, the room to move is limited to the ends of the street, and you can't enter the gardens of the other houses in the street either. . Your RC car that can go beyond these limits, strange but true, so be mindful that you can still drive your car back to your location. Make no mistake when you try to control the RC car for the first time, you will not have to use a thumbstick or trackpad but you will have to hold the 'controller' of the RC with one controller and then use your virtual thumb with the other vr controller and using your index finger to operate the rotary wheel with which you can then drive left or right, it does take a bit of practice as the car turns quite sharply, just like it works in real life. Besides driving around aimlessly you will be able to use the objects in the garden that you can move and place as you wish in combination with fixed objects such as cars in the street or the empty swimming pool. This is a nice extra to the game as it can make for a lot of creative parkours if you have the patience and inspiration to put them together, so you can also use the skateboard to mess around with the RC cart on top, you can add it to your parkour anyway. Moving the large planks was not always comfortable, with the slightest wrong move such a plank can suddenly fly into oblivion and you lose it, it does not spawn back and you cannot spawn extra objects, unfortunately. This pretty much sums up everything the game has to offer at the moment, it's really not much, but to be honest a nice and nostalgic experience for VR. An almost perfect option to let the frustrations flow away at the end of the day by trying to control your RC car in this peaceful environment. I'm also going to be completely honest, the store page is a little bit misleading via the photos next to the trailer, in the pictures you can see an area that is not accessible in the game itself, a racetrack. I don't understand why this location didn't end up in the game after release, this would take the fun so much higher than the garden and the street. Not only this location, but the possibility to start a server yourself to mess around with RC cars with others, a workshop where players can put together racetracks, like the racetrack in the pictures. VRRCC is small and limited but offers so much potential through the controls the whole concept of a good VR RC experience. Hopefully one day the developer or team will pick up this project again so we can enjoy more content. But if you want to drive a good RC car in VR without any expectations, then VRRCC is a good option.

So....I am a big fan of VR and also RC cars. I race rc cars at a club level at my local track, and do quite well. I have been playing VRC Pro for a few years too. Maybe I am missing something here, but where is the in game menu? All i can do in the game is drive one truck around a neighborhood street. Teleportation is god aweful, can only go in one direction, no way of turning around, unless you physically turn your body in real life. Unless I get a response back on how to do other things in the game other than just the opening scene I will be refunding this game. I love the idea of VR RC racing, but from what ive seen in this game there is a LONG way to go. Another huge need would be the support of the vrc pro usb adapter so we can use a real radio. The touch controllers just dont cut it. I would program the hand movements to match the throttle and steering inputs, and just have the arms and hands held in a static position infront of you. If you guys can get some good tracks, and REAL rc racing classes with good physics and support for the USB adapter, this game could be awesome. So basically VRC Pro in VR...only better, because VRC pro has its own list of problems. I hope I am not sounding to negative, as i know this is a solo operation. I do really like the idea of VR RC. I hope you focus on actual rc racing, and not just bashing. I want to have an experience in vr similar to when I go to my local club, and race, weather its on the outdoor track, or the indoor clay track, or astro track. I hope to see all the major classes, like 1/8 buggy, truggy, 10th scale buggy, sct, stadium, 4wd buggy etc.
Still in early access, but already a lot of potential to become the radio controller racer in VR. When I was a child I was a huge fan of those remote controlled cars, first with a cable and later wireless. I bought a real good one later and went to the forest to drive around. Unfortunately the battery or the motor burned and I was going home disappointed and sad. This can't happen with this game. https://youtu.be/bLtOnJV-TAo
The graphics are better than the other VR RC game I tried, however the controls are difficult and not enjoyable. Additionally while it's nice to see large interesting tracks it's also very difficult to drive around these considering the player's perspective. Might be better to follow the car after take off or something like that.
I feel the game is currently at a "buy to support it" because it needs more content and a few fixes to be an honest recommendation. So if i could do a neutral recommendation id put that, but i cant so im leaning towards Recommended. The main mechanics, as in the car physics is pretty damn good, performance was a bit off, it felt choppy on higher speeds (1080/3600). There is only 1 car, and 2 maps, the track and the neighborhood. The track feels a bit too big to do a full lap standing on the same place, and there is no vantage point to watch the whole track from one spot. You teleport to move around, but its a bit finicky you kinda turn sometimes and its not as nice as it could be. So moving while racing is pretty hard. Controls could also be tweaked a little bit to make it easier to handle, maybe add some haptics when turning or grabbing the turning knob. As i said the game is ok and i think has good foundations a bigger game could totally be build with this, but right now it still need improvements.
While this is a negative review, I will list one positive, It is amazing that this game was developed fully by one person, however it needs alot more work. for example, I don't know if this is a problem with the HTC Vive version of this, but whenever I was playing on my Oculus the teleportation is very sensetive, as soon as I put my thumb on the thumbpad the game makes me teleport. Also The play area is very small, so there is not much to do. I feel like if you scatter around more loose objects to play with then it will make it more enjoyable.
Hmm. Does not support Oculus controllers. It works but can't move properly. This is not a game difficulty, but simply a matter of software maturity.
