Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 1.43/day in the week to Aug 11 → 6.71/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 24 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,419 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

I think I like "pseudo-40k FTL" a bit more than original FTL. This is obviously very subjective. +streamlined map generation (less weird randomness) +streamlined boss fight +changed combat mechanics (no drones, no hack, no cloak, +psychers, +boarding focus) +no "giant alien spiders" + miscellaneous quality of life improvements +goated soundtrack (FTL was awesome too but iykyk) +"transparency": going back to OG FTL I was surprised it didnt show evasion chance on enemies + torment levels +DEMONIC POWERS! BLOOD FOR THE BLOOD GOD! SKULLS FOR THE SKULL THRONE! (demon lance / hate matrix = evilmaxxing) -possessed ships (they are ok, but I will never stop complaining because I am cringe and weak) (non-exhaustive) Summery: the most obvious purchase of all time, I bought this game based of a tweet saying something similar to the phrase used at the start of this post in 02/2026 and ended up spending 200 hours to get 100% steam achievements. 10/10 would throw my life away once more. Major probs and thanks to the devs, they really cooked with this one. Edit: I had a bit of a learning curve / suffering at the start: combat is changed sufficiently that you might look stuff up. There is a void war wiki (just google) with detailed entries on ships, modules, crew and pretty much anything else.

Very cool game. FTL will probably never be taken over as my favorite indie game but this game pulls off some cool ideas well. Would recommend to most people, game is hard but rewarding. The constant updates are what really push it higher too. Didn't expect that.
if you liked FTL, then you will love this game, lots of updates too.
The mutts nuts of a game, can't recommend enough to people.
VERY fun game and very much worth the full asking price. While this is a rogue-like, it definitely is not one that heavily focuses on meta progression and speeding through runs. Each run through is long, a micro manager grind fest, requires decent planning on lower difficulties, and a PHD in warfare for the harder ones. However, the challenge of finding a playstyle that works for you, and refining it, is part of the fun! Not to mention the unique story lines that playout each run due to the rng encounters. Def will get lots of hours out of this and the devs are very active and adding major content updates what feels like every month!
Nearly 150 hours in and still finding it deeply satisfying. The core loop constantly forces you to adapt on the fly, which keeps runs feeling fresh even when you know the game well. I really like all the little choices you can make to create a harder or easier run. I'm less impressed by the soundtrack. The ambient drone approach sets a mood but I would have liked stronger themes and melodies. Timing is everything in this game, and the UI doesn't really acknowledge that. When you unpause, things can escalate almost instantly, which means you need a strong intuition for how long every action takes: the cast time of a spell, how long it takes a crew member to cross a large room, the delay on a given system. Not all of this is communicated in a way that lets you gauge relative timings, so you'll spend a chunk of your early hours learning by doing.
This game is very fun. The mechanics are very unique and statifying to use. Althought there is a learning curve, the game will leave you wanting to learn and explore new strategies.
I LIKE. never had the same game in two runs. even with the same ship and the same Cap. is there a lot of difference. i would it buy again and again.
Pretty fun!
