Extremely good design that rewards careful decision making. Huge number of unique hulls (once unlocked completely from playthrough, no p2w) that come with an interesting variety of starting loadouts. Nice variety of items, commanders, unit types and enemy encounters. Currently on difficulty Torment X (out of XII) and though it can feel unfair at first, once you master a given difficulty you wonder why you ever struggled with it, provides a decent boost of excitement to beat a hard boss the first time.

As the saying goes 'if you're going to copy, copy from the best!' This is basically FTL in mock 40K, but it does it very well. I've played a lot of FTL clones, but Void War is by far the best! I'd recommend this game to anyone who enjoyed FTL, and the mock 40k world makes it easy to understand the world your playing in.

Like FTL? It's basically a badass sequel with expanded systems in a new universe. Great game.

Great game even got some good faction representation for ad mech

An excellent successor to FTL, and I admire the creators ambition to create as close to a legally distinct 40K as they can without getting set upon by GW's lawyers. I look forward to the updates where we get to fight the fearsome robotic Lichrons and the brutal Bjorks. But for real- the gameplay is DENSE, with many of the somewhat underwhelming strategies from FTL (like setting the entire enemy vessel on fire or boarding with a combat hoard) drastically expanded in ways that are very fun to use. It can get a bit overwhelming your first few runs, but play it out and you'll get a handle on it in time for the next bucketful of mechanics and units to be dumped on you. I truly look forward to seeing this game grow. The developers are doing great work here.
