Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 1.43/day in the week to Aug 11 → 6.71/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,402 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Void War The FTL-like that asks the based question, what if Big E bit it? And they delivered. Also, eat my entire post super cheesy(lactose intolerant), ultra spicy, Thai styled, Chipotle bean burrito butt hole GW for trying to strike this game down when you could have raked in more money than God 5x over if you gave the devs a games license. Its especially rich coming from the company that became as big DUE to blatant rip offs/stealing IPs from eastern europe post wall collapse. ANYWAYS..... back to the review proper. This game asks the TRUE fundamental question..... can we make FTL more based and FAR more difficult.... and the answer is a resounding YES. Positives: -Multiple difficulties that scale. FTL had the problem where the 3 diff settings can either be non-existent in one run and one side of the galaxy to the next on the same difficulty on the next run. Having a "sliding bar" makes the scaling far more accurate and less schizo. -Loads of content and that keep coming. It shouldn't be surprising that the biggest difference between this and FTL is that this is getting updates on the regular while FTL got one big content update and some additions within two years and..... that was it. There was Steam achievement integration and translations but that is it. Void War is continuing to update and doesn't seem likely to stop any time soon -Fuel. Or the lack of it. One of the big hurdles of FTL is buying fuel for your ship making certain ship mods non-negotiable. You ARE getting the scrap (and drone arm depending on build) arm and that is final because we need the gas money. While that means the scrap pickings on higher levels becomes like....scraps.... not needing to worry about running out makes the journey far more straight forward. -Unique weapon and system loadouts. FTL NEEDS the Advanced Edition to even be close to the weapon variety that Void War has off the rip. Poison weapons, flame beams, radiation guns that liquify people, and lance weapons with one in particular breaks open the room for warp demons to come spewing out of. The systems are also in greater variety as well, "life" stealing beams, boarding torpedoes, stun and mind control arrays, and even offensive gravity projector slowing the enemy movement to a crawl. -Psyker powers and resonance. Because this setting is totally not a 40k rip off, you have psykers that can shoot mind bullets damaging the ship, yeeting ghouls and other demons onto enemy ships, to even a fart cloud that is so stanky it puts fires out. While some are better than others, each power DOES have a use, especially as some like strength drain, are support powers that make the enemy too weak to kill you. As for resonance, it is more on the positive side as while it makes QQing a ♥♥♥♥ run all the more harder, it does allow you to die and get SOMETHING out of it with FTL doesn't thus making even sector 3 fails have SOME meaning. Resonance also allows you to get anything you want if you have the correct amount which takes some of the grind out unlike FTL where you need to pray to RNGesus lest he rolls a d100000000 and decides which kind of CBT you are getting which results in failed runs feeling like a time waste. -Commanders. They are faction independent (though if you are going for an Asmongold run of death cult faction because poison=not showering lol, get the ones immune to poison or have armor that allows poison immunity via armor) which allows you to mix and match which ship is best for which commander and makes subsequent runs all the more different if you get the berserker commander with chaos knights boarding and clearing the whole ship compared to space nun who can insta-gib (or teleport) a dude in the throne (pilot seat) allowing you to slap the ship to hell and back bricking it so even if commanded again, the shields are down and engine is out.... prepare booty for blasting. -Finally, encounters. There are base attack encounters which if you are prepared, is easy scrap (sometimes people), abilities and weapons. If you are not or run into one later, prepare you asscheeks, you are in for a (not so) fun ride, hope the scrap and loot is worth it. Negatives: (there is always some) -The "exploration". A downside of having no more fuel to worry about is how to balance this and being ONLY able to go forward was the trade off. It is for game balance and make every more far more strategic even when your ship is giga-chad maxed out. Whereas FTL lets you go anywhere so long as you beat the rebels (unless you are point farming and just dunking on them for the love of the game). -New skin and flesh, same bones. By what I mean is that while it is only in basic mechanics an FTL-like, it still has some of the same problems that makes FTL frustrating at times. Resonance maybe nice but RNGesus is still at the wheel where a 3 shield possessed cruiser with 25 dodge avoids ALL of your shots and it heals itself far too fast and has already took half your health.... and its sector 2 first jump.... only for jump 2 to have a Kromic cruiser (war cult) off the rip shoot a boarding cruiser with 2 chaos knights just eviscerating all your crew and commander. This makes going at higher difficulty more frustrating as just chilling at torment (difficulty level) 3 and below a norm if you want successful runs, even if it doesn't pay as well as a second to last sector fail on torment 7 and higher by an insignificant bit. Gripe: (Not a negative, just need to get this off my chest and putting this in negative seems too pedantic) -Content and setting. For content wise.... even with the amount put out I need more; like a CA crack-fent zombie in San Fran, Void War is my drug and I need more to stay on the high, especially as I want to play with the bio-mech ships in the desolated sector that seem Evangelion coded (or do I need to take the crazy suppressants because purple bio vessel and their crew wearing shiji colored "plug" suits). As for the setting.... can we be all honest, this game was just a few thumbs up (and head bonking at GW to put competent people in charge) from becoming a proper 40k game where far more stuff could be put in. Due to being a NOT 40k game and isn't borderline IP infringing (as I said before GW had this coming) means that some uniqueness is lost and potential if it was legit being forever out of reach (again thanks GW, chose canon breaking femstodes over oil printing licensing). Final conclusion: Buy the game. NOW, lest you be a heretical blasphemer and in need of the machine god's, the totally alive (its not cope guys) god-king's and evil ruinous god's (includes the drowned entity) justifies wrath be brought down upon ye. Anyways I have a Torment 9 to get to, wish be best of luck through flaming CBT. -crocidile90 (P.S. The Gothic lettering makes cuss words oh so fancy xP)

CONCLUSIÓN: si NO has jugado al FTL, cómpralo ya. si YA has jugado a FTL, olvídate, sigue buscando. Cualquiera de las dos opciones FTL o Void War son válidas, pero tener las dos en tu biblioteca no tiene sentido. AUN ASÍ, esto es sólo mi opinión.
has a learning curve but is well worth the price.
Please never stop updating this masterpiece.

One of the first games in a long while that I bought for full price, and am very satisfied with. If you like FTL, this is basically FTL in a 40k setting, but with a bit more spit and polish; it is essentially the gameplay loop and system of FTL, but followed through to its logical conclusion in a very unique fashion. The world of Void War is also much more immersive, and interesting than FTL, which is really the part that keeps me coming back. As of now, it's a bit more consistent to win than FTL once you figure out how the game ticks, but I think it is more challenging as a whole than FTL; given a bit of time, I think it will be much more challenging to win consistently on Torrent 12. (The highest difficulty) This is a hard recommend to anyone who is looking for a game like FTL that goes a step beyond where that game stopped. I bought it for $20 US, but would have actually still paid $30 if it asked knowing what I do now, which is really saying something for me because I am a miser when it comes to Steam games.
This game rules. GrimDank FTL is as cool as you think it would be
Literally a 40K mod for FTL. Not complaining it's good, but don't let the other reviews fool you. Every aspect of the art direction is aping something from 40K, they're lucky James Workshop only saw the Space Marine.
Amazing Game, solid playthrough and all things earnt in game like they should be, none of this pay to unlock everything rubbish you see nowadays. 5 stars all the way
