The game has reset itself and I lost all my progress twice.... (70hrs of play time) theres been no patch to fix this and likely wont.
TL;DR: Blackjack mechanics are poorly implemented and result in bad luck being extremely common and capable of ending runs without any player input. Fun when you're winning, frustrating when you're not. If you really like blackjack, then pick it up when it's on sale for, like, a buck or two, but not $10. Cute concept bogged down by mediocre execution. It's much better now without the microtransactions (for those unaware, it used to be a mobile game with pretty intrusive in-app purchases), but the fact of the matter is that your decisions just don't matter in the long run because any individual fight could end the entire run through no fault of your own simply because all of the high-value cards shuffled to the top of your deck. On top of this, once you start losing, the mechanics of energy mean that you're more likely to continue to lose, since you need energy to manipulate the card draws, and you only get energy by winning the game of blackjack. There are many small balance changes that could ease this out -- I personally think it would be interesting if you could see how many of each number are left in the deck, so you can weigh your decisions a bit more accurately, though I've also thought that improving the player's core stats so one run of bad luck doesn't instantly end you could work -- but as it stands, it just doesn't feel fair, and what could be a very engaging game about playing the odds and rigging probabilities turns into a frustrating slog against unfair RNG. It's fun for a bit, and when the luck is in your favor, the strategy can be very engaging, but it's ultimately just a flat experience. Worth a couple bucks, but even for a game this cheap, it's best to get it on sale, or just pass entirely.
To start I loved this game on mobile, but the steam version is pretty horrible. the rng when drawing from the deck is just so bad and the percentages might as well be imaginary because they'll almost never work out in your favor. i would love to see some mod support so the community can fix the game. This game as it is is just impossible, I've played for almost 3 hours and have only made it past one planet one time. Really needs updates and bug fixes but its obvious the developer doesn't care about it.
too slow even at max faster animations.
I wasn't expecting this game to be so good, honestly. I bought this on impulse without really looking into it.. I was like "Oooh Roguelike Deckbuilder", liked the visuals and hit BUY. The game has a lot to offer, storyline and gameplay. I still haven't completed a run yet, but I keep on trying!
Most Rigged game in Existence that i cant drop, send help
A Blackjack style deckbuilder Initial impression is a great card game idea. But after a few runs and reading the reviews i can see their point that it becomes imbalanced and rigged against you with the modifier cards. If only the devs had tweaked this it could of went from a C tier to A tier, For the $1.50 I paid, hell even $10 isnt bad compared to how things are priced these days its not a bad deal. I will play it but it wont be in my main rotation
Геймплей приятный, уникальный графический стиль флэш-игр от Armor Games из детства — на месте. Не Swords and Sandals, конечно, но тоже хорошо.
I have no idea why people keep referencing blackjack. This has nothing to do with blackjack (you only play to 12?). The mechanics seem loaded in the enemies favor and it was tough to enjoy the game when they could keep playing advantage cards. I wish I could give a neutral review, but have to do not recommended just for the RNG/toughness.
