1st impressions, Works on STEAM DECK, and is a fun 1st person rogue ftl type game. I'm really looking the graphics. It's nice going into each one of this ships, fighting little alliance. Purchased on sale for what feels like the perfect price.
Immersive sim in roguelite package. It's very addictive, fun to play and oozes same "you are alone in space" vibe for which I love System Shock so much. Gameplay-wise Void Bastards is stellar: different weapons give you different angles to approach different situations, gadgets let you handle problems creativily, progression have exactly right ammount of upgrades and effort needed to acquire them. Graphics are very clean and stylish, giving you perfect understanding of what's going on around. Sound gives a lot of information about threats and environment, but also adds proper "spaceship vibe". The game has two subjective flaws: there is not much variety in ships you'd be raiding and there almost zero replayability after you complete story once. You will see everything this game has to offer in one playthrough. One playthrough is around 25 hours and during those I had immense fun almost non-stop. Also, plot is very barebones, but I don't think someone plays roguelites for the story. Void Bastards crafted with a lot of thought, care and understanding of how good immersive-sim must work. It also feels that game was playtested a lot just by how smooth and addictive the whole experience is (literally not a single bug encountered throughout the whole walkthrough). I can't recommend Void Bastards enough. It's very good. People in love with immersive-sim (especially, System Shock or Prey) or fans of roguelite FPS shouldn't skip this gem.

You play as a dehydrated prison raisin who keeps getting resurrected by a printer that clearly hates you. Your mission is to loot abandoned space ships. The game loop goes like this: Enter ship Panic Shoot something you probably didn’t need to shoot Run out of ammo Run out of oxygen Run out of dignity The enemies deserve their own sitcom <3 The upgrades make the progression easier and that's the hook that makes you play "one more round".
terrible gameplay loop
it's... okay. the weapons are cool but ultimately this game throws you far too many bad situations than good. it suffers from the same issues as all other roguelikes: it wants you to lose a lot. I will never understand this approach to game design. it's just not fun.
It looks nice and the concept is cool. This would be a great game if only the combat wasn't terrible. This is one of those games that tries to use "being hard" as an excuse for not having good combat. You just end up having to fight a lot of really lame bullet sponge enemies and there are no creative ways around dealing with them other than locking them in a room and running away. Eh. I'd love it if someone remade this but made it actually fun.
Amazing Rogue-lite. Ridiculously underrepresented Game. Please play it.
Mechanics are good Sound is really good Design is like a comic also really good Gameplay is addicting and fun True value should be $20 Purchase on sale
Addictive, hardcore, stressful roguelike fps in space with great graphics and one of the best soundtracks I've ever heard. What's not to like?
Great Game! 10/10 Please make Apple Silicon build!
