The sequel to the greatest game yet
I never made a review for Hand of Fate 2, but I really feel like I should. It's been a while since I played it, but I think HoF2 might be one of my favourite games overall. I had an absolute blast with it, and I was deeply impressed by how fun and engaging it was when I did, and it's stuck with me since. Every time I think about it I get a little happy about how good it was.
I've played this game A LOT on PS4, but I decided I needed it again on PC, but I never had the DLCs. Sad to hear that the devs are basically in maintenance mode, because this game ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ RIPS, and I'd love for a new one. It's been almost 10 years! That's crazy. Love this game, PLEASE BUY IT YOU WON'T REGRET IT. BATMAN ARKHAM GAMEPLAY WITH A CRAZY CARD GAME.
RPG at its finest
Seems to always have the presence of woke ideias in the background; Good otherwise.
个人感觉负反馈比正反馈还要多
Hand of Fate 2 follows in the foot steps of its predecessor and earns a recommendation from me. The narrator returns, and the gameplay has the same adventure, roguelike, and rpg elements. The narrator's game grows through the same mechanisms. There are story and endless modes. You attain gear, wealth, and blessings. The random elements can be overcome with skill. The combat is simple and in my opinion slightly worse. The gameplay remains direct. You attack 1 opponent and are attacked by 1 opponent at a time. Encounters are longer. There are basic attacks, counter attacks, interrupts, and artifacts for offense and armor, dodging, parries, and shield blocks for defense. Hand of Fate 2 is okay. It's overpriced at $30, grindy, and easily becomes repetitive. The addition of companions is an improvement (in and out of combat). The new dice, pendulum, and wheel minigames add much needed variety to the challenges. There is more female representation, and your character is customizable now. Enemy decks have been overhauled, and they incorporated the changes into the story. I'd recommend picking up this game at $15 or less on sale.
I really wanted to like this game, the first couple of hours are engaging and fun; but as you progress, the game gets bloated and starts to get really tedious to play: combat is the weakest part of the game that really hinders the whole experience, the enemies are really forgiving so after a while you just spam attack to end the combat as quickly as possible, and don't forget to turn vsync on if you don't want enemies to completely break, stop attacking and run to the edge of the arena making combat even less fun. Talking about deckbuilding, making your own deck at the beginning of the run becomes another chore to deal with after a while, you have too many cards to choose from and you're gonna tend to only pick the ones which are going to make your run less frustating, there's not a search function so enjoy scrolling through a deck of 20+ cards that gets bigger the more runs you complete. there also other issues, specifically in regards to difficulty, but these are my main sticking points; there are far better roguelike deckbuilders available.
pretty good
