S.B.T.F. is a very hard arcade-style / rogue-like / perma-death first person shooter. You play as Marines who must brave dark, claustrophobic and terrifyingly intense Space Beast infested spacecraft in order to extract critical data and lucrative upgrades. Can you make it out alive?

It's a good game but it needs to be played in multiplayer, and there are barely any people that play it. Honestly, it's baffling to me that it's being sold for $15. If it was sold for $7 or $8 and went on sale for $4-5 it would probably become a real hit and make way more money than it is now. You need an active playerbase to play, but there isn't one. Lowering the cost of entry makes it easy for copies to be bought, especially by friends for other friends. I also don't really think there's $15 of game here to begin with. It's $10 at best. No disrespect to the dev, I just want a game this good to succeed.
genuine hidden gem
Excellent game for Space Hulk fans
under rated GEM
A Great Indie multiplayer game to play with friends I have low hours on my account but I have been playing with family and friends on their accounts. Its the best aliens game that never was, very difficult and incredibly fun multiplayer not really a solo game, you can play by yourself I wouldn't advise it. The game takes a lot of inspiration from the aliens movie the machine gun sound and muzzle flare are dead ringers. You have up to four players doing certain missions on ships, rescue or destroy, the levels start out dim in pitch blackness with only your flashlight and weapon of your choosing with limited battery and it quickly become tense and frantic when the aliens arrive, fast moving and dangerous killing you in seconds. The game makes you tigger happy and may result in you shooting your comrades by accident. The game has a learning curve, much of the game has you going to blue terminals and hacking them, you have to wait for the numbers to reach 100% you have to find all of them to finish a level. This sounds boring but its intentional like I said there are aliens coming through walls and vents, so sitting around in an area where they are waiting is its own kind of tension. Finishing terminals give you upgrades for your character and everyone else, this game has rogue like elements so the upgrades are random, from a faster hacking speed, nightvision, faster movement, brighter flashlight, increased ammo capacity ect. However this is important if you die you lose your upgrades so play well. The other two terminals you will find are repair stations in case you do survive being mauled, and ammo recharge stations cause you will go through ammo like crazy especially if there are multiple breaches. You can also upgrade if you survive the mission to the end and it allows you to rank up giving you better ammo types. These are perminant between missions however (at least to my knowledge) once you exit the game you start back to square one which I wish they let you keep between sessions. Finally teamwork is important. Some levels are absolutly massive and maze like, in some there is a map room, so one guy can stay there giving directions to the others, your not just equipped with a gun, you can hack turrets and activate lazer grids to help with the swarm. So one player can hack the blue terminals providing upgrades, one can activate turrets and keep the swarm at bay, while one is in the map room giving directions. Though this game is a rogue like and if you rely on the turrets the aliens will knock out the power leaving you in the dark, (this is how you start each level as well) to reactivate it you must find a junction box. While I praise the rogue like elements soimetimes it can be a pain, sometimes a break in area will be right in the map room or in the reactor where you need to finish some levels. This is one of the best multiplayer local co-op games to play with friends, I have already sank 50hrs on the game and comes recommended.
Extremely buggy, crashes all the time. Tried to get my friend into it today and we can barely play with all the crashes. Activating 'fences' ctd, trying to go full screen is ctd, random huge stuttering. Crashing when opening the menu in mission.
If you ever wanted an actual Aliens style game, this is probably what you're looking for.
what a game
this is the ultimate gtfo
This is even more authentic Alien experience than any Alien game I can remember. Strictly speaking, this is objective-based corridor shooter with main and secondary objectives which you can play as an pure action game or even tactical shooter depending on a team level you are on (in multiplayer, obviously). Takes some effort to find people to play with, but it pays off greatly with great co-op experience. Definitely recommend it to anyone who would like to experience fresh alternative to oversatured co-op horde shooter stuff. I suppose this game at its difficulty is somewhere between Darktide / DRG and GTFO. Hardcore but less dependent on minute-to-minute communication. P.S. Split-screen for local co-op is hilarious btw, I felt literally back in early 2000s playing shooters on SEGA lmao. Nice touch.
