About
Descend into the depths of madness and terror in this disturbing pixel-art graphic adventure—a simultaneous prequel and sequel to Vlad Circus: Descend into Madness (2022). Vlad Circus: Curse of Asmodeus draws you into a world of mirrors and shadows where evil lurks in every corner.
Explore a haunting universe through the eyes of Josef Petrescu, a man scarred by tragedy who awakens horribly burned, voiceless, and memoryless. As Vlad Petrescu’s brother and co-heir to Vlad Circus, Josef embarks on a harrowing journey to uncover the truth behind his past.
Innovative Gameplay
Vlad Circus: Curse of Asmodeus pushes horror game storytelling forward with its unique mechanics of navigating parallel timelines. Pass through mirrors to shift between fragmented memories. Each temporal jump uncovers new layers of the story, allowing you to piece together Josef’s life and the macabre secret hidden in the old town of San Reno. Interact with a chilling array of characters—from the bizarre inhabitants of the dime museum to the terrifying dwellers of the catacombs. Each encounter will bring you closer to the truth.
As you dive deeper into the story, you’ll face challenges that test both your wits and survival skills, presented in small doses of action.
An Immersive Narrative
At the heart of this nightmare lies Asmodeus, the biblical demon reimagined as an infernal parasite feeding on human sanity. The only way to purge the demon is through fire, torture, and the agonizing death of the body it inhabits.
As Josef recovers fragments of his memory, he documents them in his journal, weaving an intricate narrative that keeps you in suspense until the end. Each journal entry is another piece of the puzzle, drawing you closer to the truth behind Vlad Circus, the religious fanatics populating San Reno, and the fearsome Asmodeus.
An Unsettling Atmosphere
Immerse yourself in a meticulously crafted pixel-art world where dynamic lighting and sound play a crucial role in creating an oppressive, claustrophobic atmosphere. The pixel-art style combines with modern effects to create a mesmerizing audiovisual experience that amplifies the sense of terror and disorientation.
Dare You Face Your Demons?
Vlad Circus: Curse of Asmodeus is more than a game; it’s a journey into the heart of tragedy and madness. Will you have the courage to confront your own demons as you fight to uncover the truth? Can you maintain your sanity as you venture into the darkest corners of the mind?
Prepare for a macabre horror adventure that will challenge your perceptions and test your resolve.

Disclaimer: I am a huge fan of Vlad Circus: Descend Into Madness. I just loved the story and style, So of COURSE when I got the opportunity to place this, I was on it like ketchup on a brand new white shirt. I gave this 10/5 paws okay. I realise that is a biased rating, but it's MY rating. Here are my actual thoughts though, so you can make your own mind up. Things I Love ~* I love the story - this prequel sequel is everything ~* Despite obvious changes to how they did things, it still feels like it's part of the game series ~* The time jumping adds a fun little boost to the puzzles ~* Love how dark and macabre everything is. ~* Is it fair to say I love the fact my character's ass seems to hang out all the way through? Things I Couldn't Love ~* It's not AS creepy and macabre as the previous one. Which isn't necessarily bad, just different. However I appreciated the creepy elements of the first one quite a lot. ~* No combat really, except for those god forsaken rats! What did we do to you to warrant those PIA rats?! If you're a fan like me, buy it and support these folks. I'll pay the money to support developers I appreciate. If you're not, well, you'll never know until you try.
I got offered this game, and as a fan of pixel mysteries since the age of 8 (shout out to the shareware crowd!) I gave it a go. I was not disappointed. Vlad Circus: Curse of Asmodeus is a sequel (and apparently a prequel??) to another Vlad Circus Game. This game was, quite frankly, amazing in artistry. The story was fun, the art and sound design were impeccable. I got jumpscared at moments and in ways that made sense. I will update this more, but overall I highly recommend this game.
8/10 https://youtu.be/sDN4XgRfAdE
This game certainly holds fast to the original’s production values, and its interesting story is a suitable new addition to the Vlad Circus lore. For anyone expecting more of the same, however, Curse of Asmodeus doesn’t follow the same path as its predecessor. Sure, there are some light horrific elements but you will never be truly scared or have to battle for your life, with the survival aspects largely gone in favor of a more straightforward adventure game experience with simple yet enjoyable puzzles. I mostly appreciated this decision, as I had a great time plotting my escape and playing through Josef Petrescu’s history. But even though I was relieved not to have to keep track of my health and ammunition, I can’t help but feel slightly disappointed as well by the reduced horror factor here that made Descend into Madness such a wonderfully creepy time. And so, while a fun game in its own right that fixes certain issues I had with the first game, ultimately it falls victim to the curse of the sequel rarely being as good as the original. https://adventuregamehotspot.com/review/5053/vlad-circus-curse-of-asmodeus
A nice twisted story. Enjoyed every bit of the game
Going from survival horror to rat kicker. Far worse than its predecessor
