Great way to work up a sweat while having fun. Visuals are awesome and challenges are varied and plentiful. Hope they get to deliver a multiplayer version as that would be hilarious.
Wow what a fun, engaging vr experience. It's part exploration, adventure, exercise, obstacle course and visual feast . I've played lots of VR titles and many hold my attention for a few hours then I move to something else but this has really engaged me with it kennel of challenge and VR mechanics.
Great VR experience! The environment makes it really easy to forget that you are actually working out and I personally really enjoyed the variety in activities. The climbing is really good as well.
Had a lot of fun with this one haven't really seen a similar VR game, you get a great work out especially in your upper arms. The weather and setting really made me feel like I was hiking through the Scottish Highlands. I found myself wanting another area to explore after completing the Highlands so hopefully more content will come soon.
Played this game throughout the Beta so I have managed to get this game for free. Venture's Gauntlet is really fun as a workout game or even if you just feel like immersing yourself in a beautiful Celtic-inspired landscape. Impressive graphics considering the scale of the map and obstacle course laid throughout it. If your looking for a challenging VR adventure game then I would strongly recommend trying this game out. Can't wait to see more of what the devs create. For anyone wondering I primarily use a HTC Vive headset but also jump between that and an Oculus Rift S headset.
Seems decent enough; could be good, might be great eventually. I love these kind of games anyway. I'll come back once they add other locomotion options than swinging your arms. What's that option anyway, swinging your arms like that? When you run your legs are taking you forward, by swinging your arms you are illustrating something that in fact does not take you anywhere ever. Also, there needs to be a way to save the game in mid stage. I thought there was automatic save... nah, it turns out. I don't know how long one stage is – at least over 10-15 minutes, seems decent long game – but I don't want to do it all over again from the beginning in any case. I pretty much don't give a crap about the time, I'm in for the adventure.
This is a really fun fitness game, you don't even realise your working out. The scenery is breathtaking and the course has great variety so you don't get board. I completed 3 stages there was a 4th stage that i briefly tried. To move you have to swing your arms back and forth like you would if running, there is climbing involved, ducking, shooting and swinging. I was really impressed with the scale of the environments, you really get a great sense of space. Be warned you must have a head for heights too. I've played a lot of VR over the years, this was something different to what i have played before. I highly recommend this game. I like the concept of this game. If you're looking for an immersive and fun way to work out, this game might be the one! It features engaging mechanics and offers a variety of maps and puzzles to explore. Venturing through the game's captivating world will test your endurance, accuracy, and problem-solving skills. After playing for an hour, I can definitely feel the burn in my arms, but it's a rewarding feeling, like getting a workout while gaming.
It's not bad for early access but has a ways to go. The graphics are really nice but the gameplay is a little bit lacking. Not engaging. 1. There's no AI to race against. It's just you. You can't even race your ghost. 2. All of the levels appear to be unlocked and there's no unlockables. 3. No footstep sounds which makes it feel empty 4. Running speed is capped no matter how fast you try to sprint. And like most climbing games this game was borderline in terms of motion sickness. I didn't get sick but it's borderline. Not much they can do about that. In terms of fitness it's excellent. Fels like basic training camp but unfortunately that's it there's nothing else to do. I changed my review to thumbs up because it's not bad just keep in mind the issues above.
