La historia nos traslada a un futuro donde los recursos de la Tierra se agotan. Una facción militar rusa ha tomado el control de una estación espacial solar de los EE. UU. y la ha usado para destruir San Francisco, amenazando con hacer lo mismo con Nueva York si no se rinden. Aquí entra Sam Gideon, un fumador empedernido y agente de DARPA con un traje de combate de última tecnología. Tu misión es simple: infiltrarte en la colonia espacial, rescatar a un científico y destrozar a millones de robots en el proceso. Vanquish es un third-person shooter con una velocidad y movilidad frenética, premiando la agresividad por encima de todo (podríamos decir que es un hack and slash shooter). Pertenece a PlatinumGames, creadores de Bayonetta, lo que ya te da pistas del estilo de juego. Creo que es una Joya infravalorada que no ha tenido el reconocimiento que merece. Es cierto que el juego en sí es corto y que la historia no le interesa a nadie pero su jugabilidad es perfecta y compensa con creces el darle una oportunidad. 8.5/10
platinum should make a third person shooter again, this game is so sick. the story and dialogue are cheesy and over the top, but it's a fitting combo with the fast-paced action of the gameplay. the boost slide is so much fun, and is a really satisfying movement mechanic to master. as far as i know, some aspects of the game are broken at high frame rates, and some minor ones still persist even at 60 fps but it seems perfectly playable at that cap.
