About
Sandustry is a factory automation game where every pixel is a resource waiting to be mined, mixed, processed, or destroyed. Explore a vast and fully-destructible open world as you seek out powerful artifacts left behind by an ancient civilization.

You’ve arrived on a vast unexplored planet filled with diverse biomes and beautiful landscapes – time to bring the fires of industry! From humble beginnings sifting gold from sand, you will quickly build a growing factory, unlocking powerful new technologies and production chains as you assess the viability of the planet for further industrialization. Countless options lie before you – will you focus on developing more advanced processing and logistical capabilities across your rapidly-expanding factory? Will you take advantage of local wildlife to aid with your mission? Or will you prioritize the hunt for artifacts, spending valuable resources to unlock access to their boons? And hey, there’s no faster way to mine than with the help of a rocket launcher, right? Build a beacon of industry and automation starting with nothing more than the trusty conveyor belt, incorporating filters, drones, pipes, pumps, and a myriad of other parts as you harness nature itself to do your bidding.

From individual grains of sand and flakes of snow to seeds, spores, and chips of ice, every pixel in Sandustry is a physical entity with its own properties. Discover countless chemical and physical reactions and exploit them to develop your production chains, building a pixel-perfect factory to optimize every step, or embracing chaotic webworks of conveyor belts and lifts as long as they get the job done – but be warned, sand is coarse, rough, and it gets everywhere, which introduces a new layer of complexity. The resources in Sandustry react to each other and the world around them – ice melts into water when heated, which turns to steam and rises if brought to a boil (only to come back down as rain if you let it reach the skies). Sand absorbs water around it, slowly depleting limited reservoirs to provide the wet sand that can be sifted for gold, while watered seeds bloom into flowers that can be ignited with fire to produce vital resources.

Deep beneath the planet’s surface lie countless mysteries for you to explore. Find clever ways to overcome the challenges left behind by an ancient civilization to uncover vaults of great knowledge and power. Nothing punches through a thick wall of ice like a freshly purchased flamethrower, but perhaps you can find a way to redirect some lava instead?

Built with modding in mind, Sandustry lets you explore everything from visual tweaks and hand-crafted maps to entirely new buildings and processes that you can integrate into your production chains. Dedicated modding tools make it easy to customize your experience, share your ideas with the world, and even overhaul the whole game!
As you delve deeper into the planets of Sandustry and expand your industrial capabilities, the challenges will grow, but so too will your ways to overcome them. With fully destructible worlds where every pixel is a resource to be harnessed, your options are limitless.
Sums Steam only; GOG publishes no volume signal, so the true total is higher by an unknown amount.

Try the demo first and try to find out a way to automate the plantgrowing-part of the game. In my opinion there's absolutly no way to do so. Which means, this is not really an automationgame or at least not a kind i was looking for. In general it's not bad or at least has potential. Here's some stuff that make no sense for me: Collecting gold and energy: The amount that fits into 1 square is so tiny, that your biggest task will be "where to put all that stuff". Sure, you can stuff it underground somewhere, But for me that's not really fun to constantly change the conveyors route to store the stuff underground somewhere. Automation (again): Every building with potentiol to automate stuff needs either heat or water. Heat from lava (which is consumed over time) and water. Cryo-gun spits out snow out of thin air, then you melt it...the steam goes in the air and down comes water. Automation impossible, because the snowmachine DOESN'T produce snow out of thin air and you can't make steam via automation (maybe a bug, don't know). Again...how is this an automationgame if you have to get water this way every once in a while? Also, no filters for "grabbers", so i can choose what kind of pixel the grabber should take. Even if it had a filter, the way some stuff always ends up on top will give you the next headache. Last but least...what is goal of the game going to be if (full) automation is impossible? The "story"? Collect artifacts underground? Get red sand to research everything to max? Find out where to put all your gold and energy...that must be it. Dear dev (should you read this): that collection system of yours (imo) looks and feels bad. You'll end up with huge areas of gold and energy, therefore millions of pixel/fluids (which are really annoying with their constant movement on the surface). Most likely ending up in the use of extreme amounts of cpu or gpu usage i assume. This should be the first thing you should change imo. Send the stuff to space / produce something make the stuff smaller...i don't know. SOMETHING. After that, take care of the automation part. Especially the plant part.
Extremely fun, enjoy the mix of 2D and sand physics in a factory game
Played the current version to completion. Deeply concerned that it appears to be partially developed with gen ai and yet no disclosure. Stereotypical glowing UI elements, nonsensical upgrades and options, gameplay elements that seem to have been developed in isolation from each other, disjointed dialog that becomes more nonsensical the further you go.
This became one of my favourite games ever. Sandustry is literally Noita + Factorio. Solo game dev which listens a lot to the community, super polished game and full of QoL. All the little pixels have their own properties like gravity, density, etc. It's super entertaining to move them around and build a factories with them to reach the final goal: SAND Also Lantto, you're crazy for programming this in HTML :D
Yet another game people rate extremely highy due to their anticipation of its future rather than what is currently is. This is not a factory game. If you are looking for a factory game, this isn't it. Maybe it will be one day but right now it's Busywork & Constant Cleanup Simulator.
如果正常更新到正式版,这个游戏真的要不得了了。产线没有任何一个方块需要消耗资源建造,减法是对的
