About
You are the Nomad — an elder vampire awakening from a century-long slumber, new to the modern nights. Trapped in your Blood is a stranger’s voice. This entity, a vampire detective known as Fabien, will be your guide to 21st-century Seattle. You will explore the city through his eyes as well as those of the Nomad, as you revisit a cold case from a hundred years ago that is threatening undead and mortal society alike.
Hunt your way through a modern-night Seattle on the brink of an open supernatural war in Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2, where visceral vampire action meets a neo-noir murder mystery. Navigate the vampire Court of Seattle and its dark underbelly in this action RPG, realized by the BAFTA award-winning studio The Chinese Room.

Blood sustains you and empowers your vampiric Disciplines. You’ll stalk and feed on the city’s population at night. Use your supernatural powers or raw persuasion on unsuspecting mortals to lure them into dark alleys and slake your Hunger. However, be cautious about breaking the Masquerade: revealing your true nature risks reprisals, starting with law enforcement and escalating from there. Remember, you are not the only creature that goes bump in the night.
Experience immersive, visceral combat that rewards various playstyles and approaches based on your choice of vampire clan. Will you engage in close combat with supernatural strength, attack from a distance with blood sorcery, or silently thin the herd like the apex predator you are? Your clan choice will support these playstyles and more.

Enter the World of Darkness and rise through vampire society or rail against it. Experience Seattle - a city full of alluring, dangerous characters and factions, not to mention the mortals at stake in the clash of powers beyond their knowing. In this sequel to the cult classic, your choices, plots, and schemes will determine the balance of power and what becomes of the city and its people.

Let me start by saying that this is absolutely a very good game. However, if you are expecting a spiritual successor to VTM Bloodlines, you will be very disappointed. VTM Bloodlines is, and always has been, one of my favorite games of all time, right along side Elder Scrolls: Morrowwind. This is not an RPG but it is a solid Action Adventure game that belongs in the VTM universe. I thoroughly enjoyed this game for what it is but it definitely should not have been named "Bloodlines 2". However what it is is an exceptional game set in the VTM universe with an excellent story and a true homage to the tabletop version of the game in the form of a combat heavy action adventure game. No true fan should miss the opportunity to play as an Elder vampire in this Seattle setting. The lore is present and accurate, even if not as important as it would be in an RPG style game . Also, the nods to the original work are notable and appreciable (Lots of Elevators and even a few old characters showing up. Not to mention the setting for the Grand Finale **No Spoilers**) . If you can put aside your expectation of this actually being "Bloodlines 2" i believe you will find this game to be very enjoyable
Decent-ish story dialogue, repetitive go here, do this, sit in an elevator, go here do this, blah blah blah gameplay. Performance is terrible, going from max settings to min settings gives me a boost of around 10 fps. The entire game doesn't really go above 40fps average for me, and drops considerably. This is especially true outside in the snow as well as when using abilities. There are several moments when awakening from a sleep where you simply fall through the map. The game is littered with bugs, which in fairness, only a few I have encountered have been game breaking. I would LOVE to see someone on the min specs stated in the description playing this heap. I do think story and gameplay-wise (when it stops s-s-s-s-stuttering) is good, with some really nice combat abilities that are real creative. But, I don't think as a complete package I could recommend this game.. If the performance was better (like a non-early access, full-priced, full-release game should be) I would say the game is probably worth spending maybe £40 on. In it's current state, I would say it is more like a £20 over-promising and under delivering naïve passion project from a smaller team of devs than this studio has. Which you would forgive. IF it was £20. Also choosing any make-up option for Phyre (female) in the character creator always leaves her with some stubble, I'm not saying the lady can't have a beard (plenty of older women do), I'm just saying if I was role-playing my heart out, at least let me wax the F-ing thing. Really just pushing myself to finish it at this point as I was stupid enough to pay full price for it.
I have been a fan of VTMB for many years. This game is not VTMB at all. My biggest problem is the lack of spine and consistency this ''story'' has. Let's start with Fabien, who is such an annoying unc trying to be cool type of character. Malkavian? The writers never heard of it, not a single person who knows the universe would guess him to be a mad/psychotic vampire. Phyre an ELDER vampire running errands for a bunch of babies makes NO SENSE. You feel so power in the intro and after that you get your ass kicked by thin bloods??? Secondary quests where you go from point A to point B with NO STORY and no fights at all??? I tried to finish this dumpster fire to hate with full knowledge but it was torture. Save yourself some money, time and peace and go play the first game with the unofficial patch
Rarely have I been so glad to have disregarded the reviews and just given a game a chance (that 50% discount sure made a difference, too). In short, it's a game that I greatly enjoyed despite its shortcomings. To get those out of the way - the performance sucks, as is so often the case with UE5. I should not be getting frame drops with an RTX 5070, let alone entire areas where it regularly dips as soon as you enter them. Also, do not expect a in-depth RPG (it's more of an action game with RPG and detective elements) and just pretend that it's a Vampire The Masquerade game, but not a sequel to Bloodlines (the devs apparently even asked Paradox to be allowed to rename it, and I think it could have avoided much of the bad press by doing so). With that being said, I was prepared for a half-baked game that sucked, but it didn't. The Clans and their powers are fun (being able to play as a Lasombra was definitely a plus), and the Nomad fights, moves and feels like a powerful vampire. You get to do exactly the cool stuff I would want to do in a VtM game, combat wise. The story is interesting and the characters are well written, and with the flashbacks and detective episodes you get the sense that there is a plot tying everything together that you want to get to the bottom of. I would have liked to see a few more ways of ending the story (regarding who will rule Seattle, and a chance of redemption for a certain someone perhaps), but it felt satisfying to unravel the mystery and complete the tale of the Nomad and the detective. Could some things be improved? Absolutely. An inventory would be nice, for one, because I'd like to be able to permanently hold onto that Sabbat sword and not drop it to pick up a gun, or accidentally fire it off into the void with telekinesis. Not everything is true to established lore and rules of the setting, and the ending "cinematics" could have used a bit more effort, but that may well be down to time and resources and the need to build a finished game. Would I recommend it? Wholeheartedly. If you like VtM or vampires more broadly, give it a shot. And given what a mess these devs inherited from the previous studio, I wasn't expecting to feel this positively about it, let alone to write a review.
I've just finished the game and it's still the summer sale so it's probably the best time to write a review for this game. This game is pretty controversial in the sense that it's a poor sequel to the beloved original Vampire: The Masquerade Bloodlines game and I agree with that, but I still genuinely really enjoyed this. The most notable thing that surprised me was the voice acting as it's honestly really damn good and the female voice/accent for Phyre was very beautiful in my opinion. Every character was great and voiced equally well. Another thing that I thought was amazing about this game were the abilities. I have never seen such creative and fun supernatural abilities in a game before. My three favourites were "Shadow Step" where you fall into your own shadow and re-appear in your targets shadow. Then there's "Terminal Decree" and "Mass Manipulation" which can be used perfectly together. With Mass Manipulation, you're able to target all enemies in your line of sight, then you can use Terminal Decree to make everyone in your line of sight kill themselves and it's one of the most satisfying ways I've seen a game allow the player to take out large groups of enemies. The main quest I also thought was really good as I was fully immersed in the story from start to finish and the plot twists genuinely surprised me. The game ain't perfect though and I'll talk about what I didn't enjoy so much now. First I'll talk about a smaller thing and something more about personal preference and that's the lack of combat damage to enemies. When you damage an enemy in any way, shoot them, stab them, bite them, ram your hand through their heart, anything, you never actually see that damage on their bodies which I was a little disappointed about but again, just personal preference. Now more onto stuff that is still personal preference but things that I think more players would also agree with. Next I'll talk about the side quests, a few of them are just about collecting the collectables which I think were done in a great way honestly as they fit with the story and you actually have a reason to hunt them all down. However, the side quests I wanna talk about are the other side quests you'll come across and they're honestly pretty bad as they just end up being "go to this location and kill this person" or "go to this location and pick up this item", that's all they are and it's really boring XD. Fabien also sadly suffers from this as his parts of the game are "go to this location and talk to this person" and while Fabien did grow on me and I started to like talking to him the more I played and learning about the cases he worked on and how they connected to now, the gameplay parts of his memories were just boring and I think the devs also thought this as you get an ability that lets you walk around the city alot faster without consequence. Some other things I forgot to mention are that the customisation for Phyre is pretty nice as there's alot of makeup, eye colours, hairstyles and outfits available to create any style you want. The performance is a little messy as I had a few FPS drops and the game did freeze for a second at one point but it was mostly consistent. The game is linear and your choices only really impact what characters will say to you in that moment and the messages about the character feeling a certain emotion due to your response doesn't seem to mean anything. The only impact your choices have are at the end where a different cutscene will play with different dialogue talking about the future of Seattle, so you never visibly see your choices change anything. There was one other thing but like Fabien, I've gone and forgotten it and ironically I think it was about Fabien too. If I remember it, then I'll edit the review to add it in. Overall, I really enjoyed this game and I'm glad I ignored the reviews and gave it ago because no one really knows if you're gonna enjoy a game more than yourself, so since it's on sale and you're looking at the reviews, you probably want to give it a try. So you might aswell and I hope you enjoy it as much as I did! Looking forward to playing the DLCs later too and exploring the stories of Ysabella and Benny. Much love, thanks for making this!
Не понравилось. Это не рпг которую так ждали и к сожалению DLC ее не исправят, лучше поиграть в первую часть.
Um ótimo jogo de ação de vampiro! Um péssimo jogo de vampiro a mascara.
