Darwin's Paradox!

This game is a perfect example of a "meh" recommendation. While I overall enjoyed my brief time with the game, some of the flaws hold me back from recommending this to others. I will start off and say that if you are going into the game expecting a platformer, you will be disappointed. While there are some platforming sections, this game focuses more on stealth and puzzle solving than anything else. This wouldn't be a problem if it weren't for the fact that the stealth sections get repetitive rather quickly, and some of the later sections can be frustrating to say the least. Another huge issue I had with the game was the performance. Even though my PC is well above the recommended specs, I struggled to get a consistent 60FPS at 4K. I eventually had to turn the resolution down to 1440P (with DLSS) in order to achieve a consistent frame rate. Thankfully, the developers added the option to disable visual filters with a recent update, as the default settings make it look extremely blurry. What I will say that I love about the game is the storytelling. Outside of the initial cutscene, there is no spoken dialogue. As such, the developers crafted a beautiful world full of environmental storytelling, which is what really kept me going. Finding the hidden collectibles across the levels was a delight, and you can tell the developers had a fun time making all 20 of them. If this game still sounds like it fits the bill for you, I would wait for it to go on sale. I purchased it for only $14.99 during the Summer Sale and feel like I got my moneys worth out of the game.

Awesome game with a very cute graphics and interesting gameplay. Only one minus - the game is pretty short) as my comment)) Hope to meet Darwin again in the future ;)

Completed in one sitting, this title stands out as an excellent cinematic platformer. Having just finished Deer & Boy, which shares the same genre, the comparison is inevitable. Darwin's Paradox takes the exact opposite approach of the previous one, trading tenderness and sensitivity for a delightfully quirky, tongue-in-cheek universe. Visually, the art direction is remarkably polished and brings a real breath of fresh air. This originality also extends to the gameplay, which revolves around shifting perspectives, allowing the character to move along walls and ceilings. It is an engaging mechanic, though it requires constant vigilance to avoid getting crushed or fried by the numerous traps scattered around. While some critics mention a punishing die & retry aspect, the experience actually feels smooth and accessible. The difficulty spikes are quickly overcome thanks to well-placed checkpoints that prevent any frustration. The puzzles remain straightforward, and the short format is a perfect fit for the genre, allowing you to unwind without ever experiencing redundancy. L'exercice se révèle amusant, même s'il demande de la vigilance pour éviter de finir broyé ou grillé par les nombreux pièges disposés ça et là. Si certaines critiques évoquent un aspect die & retry punitif, l'expérience s'avère en réalité fluide et accessible. Les pics de difficulté se surmontent rapidement grâce à des sauvegardes automatiques bien pensées qui évitent toute frustration. Les énigmes restent simples et le format court convient parfaitement au genre, ce qui permet de se détendre sans jamais ressentir de redondance. Purchased during the summer sale and no regrets. A great little platformer for when you need a breather between longer games, can be somewhat repetitive, so I found it perfect to play intermittently.

Ein tolles Spiel mit schöner Story und Humor. Hat mir viel Spaß gemacht und war das erste Spiel das ich mit meinem neuen Steam Controller V2 gespielt habe. Wenn du Plattformer magst dann gönn es dir. Von mir eine klare Kaufempfehlung.

Fun game! Would play again so I can find all the extras. I think this is definitely playable for those who aren't hardcore gamers (like myself) but still like a bit of a challenge and adventure.

I finished most of the game in about 7 hours, The environments and the art design look amazing, but the gameplay is a bit boring all you do is walk, and jump, and figure out how to reach the next area using your abilities, there's no real challenge!! Personally, i didn't enjoy the game because it felt boring Maybe I'll come back and finish it later

It's by no means a terrible game but I've just played so many better versions of this in my time it really couldn't hold my interest, especially not when several situations became frustrating due to wonky controls or poor level design.
