About
Embark on a grand adventure worthy of a true animated movie with Darwin, an octopus as charming as he is clever, ripped from the ocean and trapped in a massive and mysterious industrial complex. With his extraordinary intelligence and incredible abilities – swimming, camouflage, and many other fascinating skills – help him overcome the most formidable traps and dangers in this captivating platformer, adventure, and puzzle game.
In the peaceful vastness of the ocean, Darwin, a young octopus, explores the deep sea… until a strange beam of light pierces the abyss and pulls him toward the surface. Thrust out of his aquatic world, he wakes up disoriented in the middle of a gigantic junkyard, backed by a foreboding factory.
But something is wrong. Between the threatening machines, strange holding tanks, and the mysterious and dangerous creatures and characters that inhabit the place, Darwin realizes he is in danger. To return to the ocean, Darwin will have to outsmart, evolve, and reveal to the players through his journey the mysteries of a conspiracy that goes beyond anything one could have imagined… and which could very well seal the fate of humanity!

♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ Steam, add a neutral recommend option. I like the character, the world and it's overall aesthetic, but the gameplay loop is kinda just okay. There's some really fun platforming sections, and the stealth is okay, but both do get a little tedious after a while. Even though this is a rather short game, I played this in short bursts over a few weeks because I got bored really quick (probably doesn't help that I've been playing the Arkham games recently which have really good stealth. Funny thing is, I started this game to take a break from those games, then I started and completed Origins to take a break from this.). Also, I got soft locked early on in the game and had to restart a level which was pretty annoying. If you decide to get this game, get it on sale. There's so many instances where the game forces you into doing what it wants you to do, rather than what you want to do. Maybe I want to camouflage, but the game wants me to hide behind a box for some reason, so instead of finding a way to encourage me to hide behind the box, the game takes away the ability to camouflage. Super obnoxious. I don't think it's unreasonable of me to expect the B button to camouflage 100% of the time after being told that that's what that button does. If I can only use one of the few stealth abilities given to me, and not in anyway choose how I tackle a situation, why am I playing the game, why isn't it just a cutscene? There's been a lot of similar situations throughout that had me asking the same question. Either I have to use camouflage, or I have to hide behind something, or I have to shoot my ink, never can I choose to do any of these things.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 25 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 10 places towards #1, and the 2,413 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Was actually looking forward to playing this but you need an easier level. Not all of us are Mario World Grand Champs with the reflexes of a Siberian tiger. Some of us are human just playing as an octopus. How about easing up!??? Im willing to change my review if you can offer up a way to make it a bit easier....
A game like Limbo or Inside - but instead of a boy you are an octopus with some interesting abilities. The swimming movement is fast and fluid. The ability to stick to any surface and climbs walls and ceilings is cool, and the ink shooting ability is super-useful! The graphics and animiations are top-notch, like a playable Pixar movie! I played thru the entire game on the Steam Deck without any issues. Overall, I would definately recommend this game and encourage you to support this developer.
Completed in one sitting, this title stands out as an excellent cinematic platformer. Having just finished Deer & Boy, which shares the same genre, the comparison is inevitable. Darwin's Paradox takes the exact opposite approach of the previous one, trading tenderness and sensitivity for a delightfully quirky, tongue-in-cheek universe. Visually, the art direction is remarkably polished and brings a real breath of fresh air. This originality also extends to the gameplay, which revolves around shifting perspectives, allowing the character to move along walls and ceilings. It is an engaging mechanic, though it requires constant vigilance to avoid getting crushed or fried by the numerous traps scattered around. While some critics mention a punishing die & retry aspect, the experience actually feels smooth and accessible. The difficulty spikes are quickly overcome thanks to well-placed checkpoints that prevent any frustration. The puzzles remain straightforward, and the short format is a perfect fit for the genre, allowing you to unwind without ever experiencing redundancy. My verdict: An original, funny, and beautiful platformer. If you want more by the end, it means it's a success. 8/10. 8/10.
Unique Puzzle Platformer with Sneaking and Hiding! You play as a Octopus! And have to find your way through all different kinds of levels with unique Abilities. There are collectibles to collect and Skins to unlock. The Story is good and it looks like they leave it open for another game. Which I hope they do! I really enjoyed this game! The only bad thing I can say about the game is there are some performance problems. So do I recommend it? Yes I do if You're into Puzzle Platforming games. Final score is 9/10 for me.
Darwin's Paradox!
Another Unreal Engine 5 game that looks like it’s from 2015, yet somehow demands diabolical PC specs. Sometimes it’s not clear where to go, and the timing sections are kinda shot, I was sweating at some points. Can’t even imagine how hard this must be for some random kid.
