About
You are the Nomad — an elder vampire awakening from a century-long slumber, new to the modern nights. Trapped in your Blood is a stranger’s voice. This entity, a vampire detective known as Fabien, will be your guide to 21st-century Seattle. You will explore the city through his eyes as well as those of the Nomad, as you revisit a cold case from a hundred years ago that is threatening undead and mortal society alike.
Hunt your way through a modern-night Seattle on the brink of an open supernatural war in Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2, where visceral vampire action meets a neo-noir murder mystery. Navigate the vampire Court of Seattle and its dark underbelly in this action RPG, realized by the BAFTA award-winning studio The Chinese Room.

Blood sustains you and empowers your vampiric Disciplines. You’ll stalk and feed on the city’s population at night. Use your supernatural powers or raw persuasion on unsuspecting mortals to lure them into dark alleys and slake your Hunger. However, be cautious about breaking the Masquerade: revealing your true nature risks reprisals, starting with law enforcement and escalating from there. Remember, you are not the only creature that goes bump in the night.
Experience immersive, visceral combat that rewards various playstyles and approaches based on your choice of vampire clan. Will you engage in close combat with supernatural strength, attack from a distance with blood sorcery, or silently thin the herd like the apex predator you are? Your clan choice will support these playstyles and more.

Enter the World of Darkness and rise through vampire society or rail against it. Experience Seattle - a city full of alluring, dangerous characters and factions, not to mention the mortals at stake in the clash of powers beyond their knowing. In this sequel to the cult classic, your choices, plots, and schemes will determine the balance of power and what becomes of the city and its people.

Washed myself of any pretense that this was a true Bloodlines sequel before playing and it massively improved my enjoyment. It's still a pretty mid game. Ostensibly a stealth-action brawler but the stealth is half baked. Masquerade violations don't really do anything, there's no humanity system to stop you from beating down on cattle and there's a very limited roster of characters you can actually speak to. It's a shame because most of the writing is good. Not Bloodlines good, but good nonetheless. Even the character that annoyed me most, the incessant voice in your character's head, actually grew on me over time. He's only there because the developers apparently couldn't trust players to pay attention to their game unless some inner voice prattled on at them because our brains are fried by short form content, but at least he's got some substance. The combat and movement are where this game shines. I wish they'd just spent all their time on that. Handing out beatdowns as an Elder Vampire feels great. You can use telekinesis to grab weapons in the heat of battle, and you have a roster of other powerful abilities you can use too. It's a power fantasy, sure, but some of the fights were still pretty tough with the sheer numbers they throw at you. Movement is the other half, running across rooftops, gliding over streets, scrambling up drainpipes. I wish there was more of this too. At times I just wanted to run forever. Based on some of the other reviews I went in expecting this to be worse than it actually was and was pleasantly surprised. Its not really the Bloodlines 2 we deserve but it's the only one we're getting. Slow down and enjoy the ride.
I love it! Story Is interesting so far. But its much less rpg than the original. The DLC is good 2
пиздaтaя игра
I'd wait for the premium version of the game to be like 20-30 bucks, it's an alright game, it uses "concepts" from the world of darkness, but in no way is it a bloodlines successor. Upsides vs Downsides Upsides - Hand to hand combat mechanics allow for faster fights with a wider variety of physical attacks. The heightened senses it pretty cool... I'll call it an upside even though part of me feels its cheating getting Auspex without having to learn the discipline. Graphics are better than bloodlines 1 obviously, fewer mapping bugs too. Downsides - Random NPC scripting is generic, with very few standardized replies that get very old quickly considered how much blood farming you have to do. Storyline is hit or miss in terms of complexity compared to bloodlines 1, odds are most will know who the main bad guy is
after their first interaction
. Very minimal variability in the endings available, and there is no interaction with any other species in the world of darkness. Disciplines are very arcady, they dont have the same utility they had in bloodlines 1. Overall it makes the game very hack and slash. It has a less realistic application, like hulk smashing the ground to knock everyone away. Due to waypoint progression requirements, stealthing threw most levels isn't possible. Being able to talk, manipulate, or socialize your way threw most levels isn't a thing either. Which in my opinion takes away from clan roleplay. Weird trans/they/them crap injected into the game. I guess I'd be more alright with it, if my dialog options didn't force me to play along with it. The fact that an elder just out of torpor knows to play along is also weird considering in his day folks like that were likely sent to a circus or mental asylum. Weapon utilization is weird, you cannot equip gear, store weapons, or reload firearms. After a certain amount of melee attacks weapons get stuck in enemies, firearms become telekinetic projectiles once out of ammo. Maneuvering around the map via roof tops is pretty cool using the elder speed and gliding, however it seems like a half baked concept. It would still be a crazy violation of the masquerade for a vampire to do that due to cameras. No blood healing, blood buff, risk of frenzy for being to low on blood. No damage types, thus no resistances or weaknesses to specific things. The old school bashing, lethal, and aggravated types of damage made their games more interesting considering vampires natural resistances and weaknesses. It seems like they've changed clan lore, or clans that hate each other don't know they do? For instance a child of Haqim getting along with a Tremer is crazy if you've read the lore at all. Or ventrue and lasombra? I think the story writers really just skipped the best part of the world of darkness, it's rich history and clan lore.
anyone who has read the clan lore for the children of haqim knows they don't need to drink Tremer blood or diablorize one to learn blood sorcery, they are arguably the first clan to have blood sorcery
.
A fun game if taken as it is, a linear first person melee combat/shooter with a fantastic and immersive story and rich characters. It is NOT a Bloodlines game, its not an RPG, and should not be affiliated with the Cult Classic in any way.
the voice acting is great, music is on point, ambience is there, gameplay iiiiiish. plot meh. mass hypnosis combined with snap your necks is fun tbh.
Never had a game gave me so many mixed feeling that I felt like writing a review, I'll start with this : IT IS A GOOD GAME, the GAME is fun, combat is fast, story is neat, characters have a lot of charm and soul BUT it is in no way a sequel to the original bloodline and it is in no way, shape or form even CLOSE to being worth it's full BASE PRICE, GET IT AT A DISCOUNT, I BEG OF YOU. That's about 15 hours or so worth of content in the base game, granted haven't done the DLCs at the time of writing, but base game with all it's "sidequest" which half the time are just "Go kill this guy" and the usual collectible hunt in an honestly very small seattle isn't particularly fun, imo. HAVING SAID THAT : The game is fun. I had a solid 4 nights of playing it, small frustrations here and there with controls and the kind of annoying feeding mechanics BUT outside of that ? Fun game. It is an action game, you jump around, you glide, you punch, kick and drink people and THAT PART IS FUN. HOWEVER, it isn't 79$ (CAD) worth of fun, far from it, having gotten it at half price even then I'd say it's a bit pricey but I can at the very least kind of get it. If you want a good action vampire game, this might be what you want ! Do not expect any real impactful story-driven mechanics, your MC is paper thin and no matter what you do the game kind of aims you more or less in the same direction, but it is a very fun action vampire game, just don't buy it full price.
The fabien sections make it so miserable to play
