Prices
The United States storefront in every case, so this compares stores and not countries.
Prices
Each in the currency that store quoted — not converted: the gap between two rows is the publisher's pricing, not an exchange rate.
14 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
Availability
We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0.71/day in the week to Aug 21 → 1.43/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 24 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,419 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.
About
A Continent Engulfed in the Bitter Flames of War!
Valkyria Chronicles 4 takes place in the same timeframe as the original Valkyria Chronicles, but with an all-new story focusing on Squad E of the Federation. Commander Claude Wallace and his childhood friends set out to fight in a desperate war, but bone-chilling blizzards, waves of imperial soldiers, and the godlike powers of the Valkyria stand between them and victory.
The BLiTZ Battle System and the CANVAS Graphic Engine return!

Together, they will experience the painful realities of war — but will the bonds of Squad E's friendships survive the frozen battlefield?
The Next Generation ""BLiTZ"" Battle System

14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Sep 20: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

An improvement over previous installments in gameplay. The dialogue feels VERY anime. If you played 1, it's a stark difference. Damn can things get dark. Squad stories are an interesting narrative way for people to "have bonds" to make it so that 3 soldiers can, in a team, function better and boost each other. It's just kinda average. It's heavily self-contained where they so far have felt odd and out of place. I just want to whack Mr. Tank Lover Boy. Ugh. "The kids nowadays would say "cringe". Alright, well, the sound design for rifles is lacking. Weak. 1's imperial rifles ROCKED sound, damage and design. I do wish speed clearing wasn't what got you an A rank. Music for combat and music is decent. I wish there was more variation. I like the wider cast and VA English. Quality. Squad commands for Squad leaders like Kai and Raz was a great idea. This game is worth it.
Rating: 4/5 ---- Great! --------------------------------- There is a lot to VC4, but if you don't like strategy games, most of it is garbage. However, if you do like turn-based games (with a tinge of active systems), then VC4 is a competent installment in the genre that is worth trying out especially if you like romance in your stories. Cons: The mission structures can be incredibly cheap/frustrating, especially when objectives are hidden/changed during the mission. This promotes replayability, but it cuts into the enjoyment the first time through a mission. And this happens constantly. This game needs an auto-advance option for dialogue. Because it doesn't, be prepared to press A/OK thousands of times during your playthrough. RNG is the worst it has ever been in a VC game. Do you like save-scumming? You better effing should cuz if not you are in for a rough time, chica. If you are aromantic, this game's story truly has nothing to offer. The only threads that hold this game up are will they/won't they stories. Pros: There is a lot to do in the Complete Edition that it can be overwhelming at times. There are nice side/extra missions that add a lot of color to the world. There are post-game activities, as well as DLC that gives even more party members. The True End is worth it, imo, and since over 10% of Steam players also got that achievement, it seems many agree. Almost everything is voice-acted, something that adds a lot of character to this game. Agarest would never. All in all, this is a good game that is only made great if you like anime/strategy games, which is very niche. VC1 has the better heart, but VC4 is the better game.
Easily my favorite game in the series! Lots of good to like here :>
I had a really great time with this game. Really wish they'd follow up with another one. It has a few quirks but the core concept is fun, the art style is superb, and the characters are memorable. It isn't for everyone though. If you can't vibe with the art style or the "anime-ness" of it all, don't try to force your way through it.
Its a fun game, the story is interesting. The difficulty hikes up a bit much near the end, I didn't really enjoy the boss battles vs regular battles. Also the last mission is literally broken. Get stuck on a repeating in game cutscene and could not progress until I googled a way to beat the mission in two turns.
