Very creepy. First mommy scared me so much I had to put down the HMD. It's a bit repetitive. But the Egyptian flair get's transfered very well. Sometimes a bit too dark. But you have a torch. Seems obvious that it is dark within the pyramids. Puzzles start easy and get a bit more demanding later. Best Pyramid simulator we have at the moment. Recommended on sale and in a bundle.
I have played 21 VR games, and this is the first game that gave me extreme dizzyness and nausea. There's seriously something wrong with the movement and/or viewing. ------- Pros: - Probably the closest thing you'll ever get to a real tomb. Really cool and scary! - Traps are real fun, you start to panic once you realize what is happening once you get in one. Cons: - Flat textures - You can't jump - There's no physics (you can't throw) - The fire from your stick gets in your face every time you walk - no blinking / teleportation type movement - stairs are messed up sometimes and you fall through - no hands, you only see controllers - lacks animations - It's a really great start, but it needs more work.
Watch my review & gameplay here: https://youtu.be/sj5eEmi4CDA
Experienced on the Oculus Rift with Touch Controllers
I bought this in the Steam Lunar New Year Sale 2019 for $1.49 USD. I think this game is a good bargain at that price. Game worked with absolutely no issues on the Oculus Rift with Touch Controllers. Locomotion is either full locomotion or arm-swing, neither option has smooth / snap turning. You have to look where you want to go. I do prefer full locomotion in this game, although some of the traps seem easier to navigate through with full locomotion so you may want arm-swing for that extra added difficulty. I would call this game a very light / casual puzzle adventure game where you explore an ancient pyramid full of traps and very easy to solve puzzles. The puzzles are mostly find the symbol / object type game. It does feel like a walking simulator for 3/4 of the game. Then the last part of the game starts and it pretty much changes into a platformer / climbing stamina game. I found the last part difficult mostly because it is so long and you have so much climbing to do. Whole experience took me approximately 75 minutes to finish. Combat is way too easy. You just burn the mummies. I wish there had been more to it. The graphics were okay, nothing spectacular. I enjoyed navigating the dark corridors, although some may think it's too dark and takes away from the visuals. You carry a torch to help you see for most of the game. As other reviewers have mentioned, the sounds do seem a bit off. Besides the mummies, there's cobras, spiders, and scorpions ... oh my! Sale Price Rating 7/10. I wasn't expecting much for $1.49 USD and was pleasantly surprised. I'm not saying it's a great game, but for $1.49 USD I think it's a very good bargain and an adventure worth your time. I would rate a 6/10 at full retail price.
ok this is a really easy cool game I like it wish is was longer. I did find a hidden free game code IDK if it was 1 time use but if it was hahaha I found it
Ok so got this game as part of a bundle of 10 VR games for $3.40 so it cost me 34 cents. I'll start with all the ♥♥♥♥ things,

Hard to move through all the walk spaces seem off and can get quite frustrating.
Clipping into walls, nothing as been done to avoid this
Uninspired textures
Hit boxes are off I was getting that ♥♥♥♥♥♥ red mist when well past obstacles
The mummies are lamer than High School Principles Halloween costume
Sword on the ground why would I not pick it up instead of just using fire
puzzles are ♥♥♥♥♥ier than a curry houses restrooms on a busy Saturday night.
Now the good stuff

Great concept just needs money thrown at it
Does get quite eerily in places
For 34 cents It's a pretty good buy
What these Dev's need to do is apply for a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ of money from Facebook or whoever and turn this game into an Indiana Jones/Tomb Raider game as it shows it can work well in VR. Even though the result leaves a lot to be desired with more money it could be a pretty good game. Best moment in game for me was when my arm clipped the wall and one of those spiders looked like it was climbing up the torch. Lucky I had straps on my Vive controller as it got thrown from my hand. My most real moment in VR yet. Worth a buy if you like Egypt and ♥♥♥♥.
Jeeezus Kerist! I played for a mere five minutes and near ♥♥♥♥ my pants. Very atmospheric, and creepy as Hell. Yes it's early access, and it does need improvement - but it's also cheap. Another reviewer complains the locomotion causes him motion sickness. I sympathise, there are games I can't play for the same reason - but this isn't one of them. I'm going to have a large Scotch to steady my nerves then I'm going in again. Wish me luck. I think games like this are what VR is all about - or should be. Well worth a fiver.
https://youtu.be/9bXxngSXK4A Unknown Pharoah is a casual adventure game that takes place in an ancient pyramid, which you explore as an archaeologist, with the gameplay focused on solving mini puzzles and avoiding traps that await as you progress through the game. As of the date of my gameplay video, I felt that the movement mechanic of arm swinging was a major flaw of the game, as it was awkward to use and made me feel less immersed in the game as a result of constant time wasting trying to navigate the controls, which I feel are central to a players experience in a VR game. On Feb 7th 2017 though an update was apparently released which means it is now possible to play using trackpad locomotion, which I imagine would be a vast improvement making the game much more enjoyable for the player. I also felt that traps could do with a little improvement but bare in mind that this could have since been updated too. I also felt that the game needed to be more challenging in regards to the puzzles as they are too easy and the graphics are just okay, nothing spectacular. Otherwise the game is appealing as you do feel like you are taking an adventure in a pyramid and it does offer a creepy atmosphere and a few jump scares for those who are looking for this type of experience. The game has potential if these improvements are made, as I really like the concept of the game, but unfortunately I can't recommend it based on my experience of the poor movement and far too easy puzzles.

Negative Merkmale:

Warum gibt es keine Teleportation oder Touchpad-Bewegungsmethode?
Man hängt immer an Ecken fest
Einige Bugs, man fällt durch die Welt und muss vom letzten Checkpoint starten
Ich habe auch ein Let's Play in meinem YouTube-Kanal aufgenommen: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=twlDJZRYQcI
