Very hard game. Hardest I have played in a while. I have a lot of small gripes but overall its great. Painful but great. Update: I just found out there is an artwork folder in the local files. I officially love this game.
Here's the sales pitch for Uncraft World: "We put boobs in the background." I enjoy well-drawn tatas as much as the next guy, but let's call a spade a spade here. If it weren't for breasts and the desire to look at them, this game would not exist. I mean, I'm not trying to be down on the concept. If anything, it's actually an ingenius idea. Perhaps more videogames should have hooters in the background. Bioshock Infinite is an alright game, but all that sky and air is boring as heck. So how about we replace the clouds and the other nonsense with some yum-yums? Maybe then it would have deserved all those Game Of The Year awards. I'm only slightly kidding. Seriously though, the problem with background mammaries is that they're distracting. They cause people to stop paying attention. Before they know it, they're wondering why their wallet just got a little bit smaller. Staring for too long causes one's IQ to drop to single digits. If you're like me, you probably bought Uncraft World and then realized "Oh yeah. I hate these freaking rage-inducing platformers." In this game, you take control of an unholy abomination with a jetpack. Your mission is to avoid traps, grab huge chests, and uncover pictures of barely clothed women. If that doesn't quite get your fire stoked, then you're free to make changes. Thanks to Steam workshop, those pictures can be of whatever you want... Eh... Maybe not WHATEVER you want, you sicko. Anyway, the process of going through levels while collecting hot pix isn't terribly complex. It's pretty goshdamn infuriating though. What makes a platformer despicable is when it can only be cleared through very specific actions. To put it another way, imagine a game where the carpenter has to stomp on an evil armadillo. Now, let's make it so the armadillo is covered with spikes, except for one tiny spot. Going further, picture the jump itself. It must be done in a very specific and perfect arc. If the carpenter is off by a millimeter, then he is impaled by thousands of spikes inexplicably floating in mid-air. This game is the same way. You must play it to the exact expectations of the developer/level-designer. Any deviation is rewarded with instant death, and a swift kick back to the last checkpoint. The only time these games are entertaining is when you get to watch somebody else suffer through them. I'll gladly admit to being a masochist. I like the 2D shmups where millions of bullets fall like neon pink raindrops. Still, even I have my limits. Spending several minutes to an hour on one stage, or better yet, one checkpoint? That's some Ninth Circle of Hell garbage right there. All that said, I stuck with Uncraft World. The game is solidly put-together. There's a decent amount of content, and the controls aren't too bad either. Sometimes ledges can be a little suspect though. I can recall numerous times where I managed to "slide" off a ledge and into oblivion. Also, the level-designers go overboard on the voxel lava. It's one thing if the floors and walls are hot death, but at least make sure everything is clearly indicated. Even if lava in the foreground is harmless, it's still a really bad idea. It's almost as distracting as... you know. Admittedly, more often than not I was charmed by the background details. Yes, I'm talking about the other background. One of the stages takes place during a war. There are all these paratroopers and they're getting gunned down or exploded. It's pretty neat stuff. I really could have done without the "rage voice" though. When you die, a random guy yells expletives. He can be turned off, but he still butts in with a "YEAHHHHHHHHHH" as soon as you complete a stage. I don't know about everyone else, but I don't like jerkwads stealing my moment of triumph. I worked hard to look at that picture of jugs, dammit! To be honest, I think I spent more time on this game than classics like Super Meat Boy*. If that isn't a winning argument for background knockers, then I don't know what else to say. *In all fairness, several of those hours were spent idling for those godawful "find the object in space" achievements.

A good and fun little game. This platforming game might be a bit more rage then it should be. Sadly the dev's seems a bit shady, and its not looking like it would ever be "finished". Some solid couple of hours, else I can't recommend it, because of the dev's.
I'd pass on this one. Uncraft World has some novel ideas, but the actual gameplay is lackluster. I don't feel at all compelled to return to it. See, the thing is, if you are going to try to build a competent/competitve hard-as-nails platformer, you need super tight controls and great level design. The adult content alone will not carry it. You also need to understand you are in an overcrowded genre. If you took away the adult content, this wouldn't have any legs to stand on. Essentially, this is a difficult platforming game where you try to get to the end to open up the background picture. The neat part is that you can choose the picture from user-submitted images. That's great and makes content limited only by the community submissions. The level design is pretty ho-hum in my opinion, and the controls feel floaty. I hear that late game becomes nearly impossible because of the controls. Pros: +Unique game idea, for sure +Great use of community-produced content Cons: -Price is too high -Controls feel floaty, and in the hard-as-nails platformer genre - this is the kiss of death -I wasn't all that impressed with the artwork (the game or the girls) Eh, I just didn't have a good time.
Well to start off I don't usually like platformer games but this one is different (probably the boobs.) Anyways this game has pretty good music, a good variety of characters, and very good art. Don't let the boobs scare some of you from not buying this game because its not just about boobs, the levels can be extremely frustating and it may seem impossible at times. There's also youtube videos that will help you greatly should you be stuck in some parts or if you're not sure what to do next. Mulitplayer isn't the best but I've had some people help me out with getting through some tough parts which I'm glad they did or else I would have been stuck there for a while so it's an ok in my book. Another neat thing about this game is that you are able to change the picture in the background using your own pictures or someone else's. To wrap this up I would recommend this game to anyone who is a fan of platformers or boobs and I expect great things from the devs in the future.
UPDATE: In 2019 I tried to play the game again and saw I was missing 1 skin. Went to the forums to learn where it is unlocked and instead learned that the developers of this game have given up on development. Not in so many words, but that is the long and short of it. So it's going to be in early access forever. DO NOT BUY THE GAME. _________________________________________________________________________ Ok so after "finishing" the last 2 levels I'm happy to say that I would not recommend this game anymore. The old review is still below if you want to read it. The No to recommend all boils down to the developers. 1) A game of which extreme precision is expected from the player, yet the coding and collision detection are not on the same level. 2) The "openness" of how you can do levels is supposed to be a feature, but it found me (and the main reason this game gets a No) doing one of the last and most extremely hard levels with no savepoint to do the last "chest". So navigating to where the last chest is, is not easy and normally you are left with a checkpoint so you can try the chest. However this culmination of all your hard effort is awarded with no check point (which means getting that last chest is a huge ammount of effeort just to get to it's "cave" let alone the chest itself) and a "joke" from the developers. It's as if they thought that for all your effort, frustration and anger you deserve to be pissed off one last time. To save you the effort and spoil the ending, the last two levels show a anime girl icon, but when you finish the level one is a womans body with a fish head and the very last and most difficult level is a female body with a scruffy man's face. So what the dev's are saying is "thanks for your money and all your effort is a waste." Very dissapointing game with a very dissapointing ending. ---------------------------------------- /!\ WARNING! /!\ This recommendation is 0.1% away from not being recommended. ---------------------- This game is a excersize in frustration. To begin with it's early access and that means it's not "finished". As of today 31/12/2015 it is still in Early access and I'm very close to NOT recommending the game. The problem comes in with the games level of precision needed in later levels. You have to be super accurate while the game itself is not 100% coded. This is where the frustrations come in. As an example. Eirene's level at the end is a great example of how frustrating this game can be. At the end you need to navigate a small, laval filled hallway with the odd rocket that can kill you thrown into the mix. The rockets seek you out and the small blocks you can land on are way too small. I began by saying that it's probably just me getting frustrated at the game and I'm seeing things. But fact was that the collision detection is a bit wonkey. Take-off's from standstill sometimes work great. Other times you land and do a quick take off and you shoot to the left or right faster than you are used to. Hitting the edge of the blocks pinball you sometimes into the lava. However the worst problem with the game is the "jitter". The "jitter" is when the game seems to skip a frame. It's a very small problem and a miniscule problem starting out with the game, but in later levels that 1 frame skip is super deadly. Ok ok... so all that sounds bad, but I'd still say give it a shot. The game is very fun in the beginning and if it stayed like that there would not be a challenge. But the end game does step over that line very quickly. Ah yes... the topic of the "artwork". Look there are dime a dosen games like this. Take your character from point A to B through a difficult maze. Or if it's the trying over and over again thing you can play Darksouls. From a marketing standpoint this is a great idea. Skandily clad female anime characters are the next best thing to the obvious other that sells very well. However then this game would not make it to steam. (NOTE: you can make your own levels and swop out artworks.) If you just want the pictures you can google them I'm sure. Trust me, after about 5 levels the picture is the last thing you're thinking about or looking at. If the pictures are the reason you are not buying the game then don't be a prude. I had alot of fun in the beginning, but the later levels just seriously ruin the experiance with the level of precision needed to finish them. However I'm just happy enough to recommend it. For now...
There's not a whole lot of stuff to say about this game. It's pretty simple.
PROS:
+The gameplay itself is decent. It's your standard, run of the mill hard-but-fair platformer. You can move left and right, and propel yourself through the air with a limited jetpack that resets upon landing. Levels are short and tough, with plenty of hazards that are integrated pretty well for the most part. The game usually introduces new hazards in an easy and fair way. Quick respawns upon death allow for trial-and-error gameplay to help you learn. +Boobs. The game comes with SFW boobs. You can import your own SFW/NSFW boobs. You can use the Steam Workshop to download other people's boobs. Other games have no boobs. This game has boobs. They're the best boobs. They're tremendous boobs. Everybody loves them. +Level editor. It's a thing.
CONS:
-The game feels incredibly cheap and unpolished. Even $10 feels like a lot for this game. The UI is terrible, to the point where it feels like you're playing a Flash game. The sound design is awfully weak, and the Minecraft-esque design is an excuse to get away with very low quality graphics. Graphics which have absolutely zero settings you can change in-game, mind you. No way to change resolution, AA, shadows, textures, none of that. If your pc can't run the game as is, tough cookies. If it can, you'd better like how the game looks because you aren't gonna be able to make it look any better. -Extremely weak progression system. There's nothing to unlock except more levels, boring SFW gallery pictures, and occasionally a new ugly character model. The game has no overarching goal or any other rewards to work towards. You just kind of unlock levels until you don't anymore and then you're done. Thanks for your $10, we hope you had fun.
CONCLUSION:
A decent platformer that's good at killing a little bit of time, loosely wrapped in what is currently a very unpolished package. I know it's an early access game, but it's been out for well over a year and this is still the current state it's in. There will probably be improvements but I wouldn't expect it to change a whole lot from here. Price is a little high in my opinion. Everybody likes boobs though.

Uncraft World. The game that doesn't work if you uninstalled Windows Media Player (because VLC and Kodi are so much better). Don't know what to think of that... I'll keep updating this as I go along. Edit01: Besides the obvious: "You want to see boobs, don't you?", this game is actually surprisingly fun as a decent platformer. Edit02: So I'm just about an hour in. Turns out the game is rather easy so far. It's good at teaching you the mechanics and there is no real penalty for dying either. It's acutally quite easy not to die, UNLESS you have to find a single stupid chest hiding somewhere, so you have to go in every little nook and cranny. All in all I'd say it's worth the money. The pictures look very gorgeous, though it is clear that the creators do not know the difference between Japan and China. Edit03: After about two hours in..well most of that is actually just me frantically looking for hidden chests. The game got a little harder. There are a few ♥♥♥♥♥♥ traps. But the game still isn't hard per sé. If you've played La Mulana or IWBTB before, this is childs play. Still very entertaining though. Edit04: So I'm about 3/4ths the way done to completing this game. A lot of jumps have become pixel precise. Still acceptable though. A few chests are really frustrating to get though. It takes like 10-20 tries to get one chest and then 10 more to get it back safely. I've invested way more time in this than I intended to. But ♥♥♥♥ it! I swore myself to play this game to completion! To sum up: I can still recommend this game to anyone who likes playing a decently hard platformer with a Dark Souls like feel of "I ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up" in it. Go for it. It's fun. Frustrating, achievement-hunting fun.
