This game plays pretty well, the achievements are pretty easy and it's not super long. The mechanics of changing the environment around you worked really well and was pretty creative. Give it a try.
WOW, this is a majestic, triumphant and vibrant game. So much ingenuity and creativity. Usually I want to attack, slaughter and kill mobs directly but the one (!) portal ability is just made so well and versatile in different areas, I never got bored or frustrated too much. It's short but any longer would've killed the vibe. Not too much backtracking, you can teleport from anywhere on the map to save shrines. There are puzzle elements, yes, and I usually don't like them, but in this case I didn't have to look up anything online - I got through on my own :) Bosses are hard but fair. You die in one hit but they usually cannot take more than three hits as well. I love this game - it's different, bold, fascinating and has a great atmosphere and soundtrack. Recommend

I am not very far into Unbound, which looks to be a decent puzzle platformer (does not feel like a metroidvania so far; am currently in a level that is basically VVVVVV), but I am recommending against it due to poor optimisation. It stutters randomly, sometimes while restarting the same checkpoint (where it doesn't seem like it should be loading anything), which makes it hard to play for a platformer that relies on precision. On first startup, the story cinematics take a while to load (a few minutes, here), they don't seem to load in the background and interrupt the flow. I have been playing on Linux, both native and with Proton. The saves didn't transfer. The performance looks to be the same in both cases. This is on an external HDD, and I will retry after finding space on my SSD, but so far this is a poor experience.
It is an actual fun game, the only downsides being that is too short and the story aspect is lacking. By being short I mean that after one run, you have basically found everything if you payed attention to the map and the color codes. And about the story? Well, it is sparse on details, it can of get pieced together a bit trough Npc dialogue, but the ending is unsatisfactory. i really wanted to know what happened there. Overall 4/5. Is decent enough, the controls work fine, what more could you ask.
The game is certainly beautiful, but incredibly uncomfortable. No matter how hard you try to change the control keys, the game does not become more convenient. Many of the levels are intentionally complicated to simply claim a long gameplay and traverse the same locations for hours. User-friendly controls would not have made this game any worse, but the deliberate complication of the levels definitely did it worse. There is no desire to finish playing, because at some point it becomes so unbearable to play that you no longer even want to know the ending, and the plot no longer plays any role :(
I have such mixed feelings on this game. The lil portal mechanic has so much potential, but I just didn’t find the story engaging, the dialogue felt… flat? It looked pretty but if you’ve played Ori you’ll quickly start rolling your eyes at the almost 1:1 copy in places, but much flatter. Some of the puzzles were a lot of fun, the variety of the portal ‘powers’ was a nice addition, keeping the gameplay feel fresh and unique. Deffo found a few lil bugs, blocks not falling, floating platforms not functioning etc. I can usually live with a glitch here and there, but considering you have one chance essentially, it’d have been nice if these things were fixed. If I’ve gotta be precise, the game has to be polished y’know? That was the point I decided to nope out, very frustrating to be taking on a boss, get to the final stage and then die because of a glitch! I don’t hate it, I just wish it was a little more polished!
