About
Ultimate Admiral: Dreadnoughts aims to be the first game of its kind - a true naval warfare game - which offers a unique opportunity to design and build countless variations of realistic looking warships combined with an extremely in-depth and realistic combat model. We are absolutely excited with what we are making and we hope everyone who is interested about the dreadnought era and naval warfare, will join our ambitious project and support us.
BUILD THE BATTLESHIPS THE WAY YOU WANT
Become the architect of powerful warships, from small torpedo boats to mighty Battleships! Recreate famous ships such as the HMS Dreadnought and countless speculative designs. Pick turret layout, armor scheme, funnel placement, tower variations making each ship look and feel unique. Their hull characteristics, internal upgrade selection and weight distribution not only modifies their speed and maneuverability but also their weapon effectiveness. Every design detail of your warships has a significant effect on the combat capability of your ships.
STRONG AI
Naval combat becomes immersive and feels even more realistic when your opponent is able to react to your actions with a human-like and unexpected behavior. The AI evaluates the optimal engagement distance, using principles of the “Immunity Zone” and comparing its own firepower versus your ships. The AI uses ammunition wisely, holding fire when necessary or switching shell types according to the armor protection of the target. Unless there is a special mission directive, the AI will not act suicidally and will attempt to withdraw, if its fleet becomes heavily damaged or it is much weaker than yours.
NAVAL ACADEMY & CUSTOM BATTLES
The Custom Battle system allows you to experiment and enjoy naval battles utilizing endless combinations of ship designs in technology eras between the years 1890 and 1950 for ten different nations. Additionally, there is the “Naval Academy” which currently includes 63 battle scenarios, where you will have to design a ship or a squadron to fulfill a certain combat tactical task. These numerous missions will allow you to practice and enjoy the many innovative design and combat aspects of the game.
THE CAMPAIGN
You can fully design your fleet, immerse yourself in epic naval battles and make crucial strategic decisions on the map with a single goal to defeat your opponents by annihilating their fleets and strangling their economy. The map includes necessary historical and strategic aspects that can simulate actual facts of the period 1890-1940.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 24 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,419 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

OK, so development has ended and it's not perfect. That's the way games always used to be sold before permanent early-access, ever-update, online requirements. After nearly 150 hours I haven't encountered any obvious or critical bugs. = It works well, if not brilliantly. It looks good, if not great. The UI is easy to use, if not as comprehensive as I'd like. There's a lot of information if you look for it but the greatest weakness is, perhaps, that the tutorials and in-game help don't explain some things as well as they could. The ship design is great, the combat a little cartoony, the strategy on the easy side of satisfying as far as I've seen (I'm still only at 1910 from an 1890 campaign start so I might get my arse kicked later ^^). If you enjoy ship design and strategy games this can be highly recommended.
I love this game. It takes me back to my PS2 games playing "Naval Ops Gunner" and "P.T.O. IV." There are two things I would really love to see in this game. The first would be a an overhead tactical screen that appears just before a battle begins. It could have a grid pattern with which players could set the distance between ships. They could then drag and drop ships into the formations they desire. They could also right-click on the mouse to assign ships into different divisions as well as functions. Second--and I'm definitely not the first person to say this--but I would absolutely love to see a version of this game that would match the functions and play of P.T.O. IV, only with the detail and abilities of modern gaming. This would include creating aircraft carriers and submarines in addition to the wide assortment of surface ships. I would also love to design my own aircraft, using research to improve their performance. Having the options of either AI aircraft assignment or player-based assignment would be fantastic. For this game, though, as it stands, is a joy to play both strategically and tactically. My thinks to everyone who contributed to it to whatever degree they helped.
Requires the DIP The Great Game mod, however is PHENOMENAL with it.
It's fun to build ships, there's a surprising amount of customization allowing for unique vessels. That being said... The game has been abandoned with a bunch of promised features never being delivered. The publisher fired the devs and left the game to rot. Can't recommend a dead game for $35, buy on sale or not at all.
Amazing concept and very fun but it is so obviously unfinished that I cannot recommend this. The campaign is poorly laid out and lags extremly frequently. There is no good way to organise your units and the game sorts them in completely nonsensecal groups. The only part of the game that works well is the designer but even then there are many frustrating limitations for what should be the main point of this game.
My playtime is a lie, I was one of the first to play this game via the beta and the UAD proprietary launcher. This game started off very fun, lots of dev support and new updates. It was basically a 3D iteration of Rule the Waves (If you know, you know). What then came after was sporadic support and updates, a botched campaign mode with little immersion and ultimately, the firing of the development team by the publisher. I can't recommend this game at the list price, if you can pick it up for a very cheap price, it's fun for a little while.
Way to difficult. Clunky interface and difficulty level way to high. Cool idea but not fun at all.
