Very good narrative driven adventure. it has some beautiful landscapes, interesting story and great voice acting. I just think it was wasting potential to not let the characters speak french or their native languages the whole game. Also I think the story about some kind of monster and the winter spirit go nowhere and the game would be better without those. For achievement hunters: be wary that the game does not have a chapter select and you can't skip any dialogues or cutscenes, so make sure you don't miss anything, as the game is quite long for the genre (about 5 hours).
The gameplay style won't be for everything, this is a fairly simple game focused on telling a very specific, if sometimes heart-wrenching, story in an interesting way that combines the perspectives of two protagonists from very different cultures within an astonishingly beautiful environment. Choices made within the story affect the personalities of the protagonists, and how other characters interact with them, in an ongoing way. A particular appealing feature, for me, was the collection of lore within a codex (that you can choose to keep between playthroughs) that splits the entry between information based on the perspective of the relevant protagonist as well as included historical information. It provided a delightful insight into various aspects of both Indigenous Canadian and Colonial French cultures.
This game is just awful. It feels not polished almost in every aspect. Startring with visuals, it looks like a game from ps2, but performance is very poor: my 4080 gives only 70-90 fps in max settings at 1440p, while te whole PC overheats. Facial animations are non-existant and the other are too rough. For such interactive movie, where you can only walk, it's a big con, which cathes your eye sooner or later. The story is boring and not rewarding. The beginning is set up pretty well, it feels somewhat intriguing and mysterious, but it has nothing to do with the main course of events. Characters lack backstory or at least some explanation. You just don't know enough to make some choices. For example: in the beginning Maikan went by the river and saw crows, which followed by choice "stories say it's a sign of change./hunters say i's a sign of death.". How the hell would i know?! I know nothing! By the way the characters are voiced decently, can't complain, but pauses between their lines are huge! All these small things pile up, and the presence illusion breaks on every step. Overall experience feels outdated. It's not the way games should be made in 2024. There are a lot of good examples: Arctic Awakening, Call of the Sea, Suicide of Rachel Foster, What Remains of Edith Finch, Firewatch. I swear, even Dear Esther is a better experience than this! You know, it's refreshing to remind yourself sometimes what a really bad game is. You start to appreciate the other games more. But don't waste your time on Two Falls. I did and i really wanted to make a refund in the first 30 minutes, but i had a hope that something will change. Unfortunately, it disappointed me even more, and here i am, writing a negative review, which i usually don't bother doing. P.S.: i like the music, they got the mood right.

Pros: - Great story and very emotional/impactful towards the latter episodes especially. - Music - Historical context for lots of things, places, etc. - Characters had depth - Include native language Cons: - The Steam page doesn't mention the fact that a dog is killed and I think that's important to know. - First few episodes were VERY slow - Runs very poorly at least while streaming (have a 3080ti and OBS looked like it would crash without changing to 30 fps) - Graphics aren't groundbreaking - Wish the dialogue was more period accurate. Pierre's dialogue specifically felt very of this time and not the 17th century which took me out a bit...
Чудова коротенька інді-іграшка. Стиль дуже схожий з Firewatch та Mixtape та атмосферою The Long Dark.
Pretty nice little game. It might be very slow in some parts but that's how it is, it is mostly a linear story/walking simulator, no puzzles, no QTE, the choices you make I don't think will affect the story at all, but might change some dialogues. Many cool spots where to admire nature. I played it in French to keep practicing the language, good voice acting, good theme.
To Capitaine, the goodest boy :')
