A cute game and I was very much enjoying it and working hard to get all cheevos. I was in Act 3 and at the finish when I received an emergency call and had to close game. I just opened the game and learned that I had to start all over at the beginning of Act 3. Game needs a save system !
This is one of those games that could have been great, but ended up being very ordinary due to bugs and the laziness of the game devs. EpiXR Games UG are the ones who made all the AERY games and they have used the same soundtrack for all of them!!! In the AERY games, none of the achievements work, but at least for the first time, they do work in One Last Memory. This game is a walking simulator with narration about an old man and his memories and all the life changing events of his life. The story is pretty ordinary and I guessed what would happen in the end. This game's redeeming feature is its gorgeous graphics. There are 6 chapters and each chapter was a different environment. Some of them were stunning. There is no combat involved. You just pick up floating diamonds which represent memories which narrate the story. There are also secrets in each level which are red floating diamonds. They are harder to find. A couple of the levels require keys to open a door/gate and these are blue diamonds. Each collectable has a matched coloured aura, so they are fairly easy to find. The secrets are sometimes hidden down tunnels. The downside of each level is that there is no save. If you quit halfway through a level, you are reset to the beginning of that level. Some of the levels are quite long. Level 3 was 90 minutes for me and I still didn't find everything! Some of the levels are quite convoluted and it is easy to get lost. A checkpoint is essential as not everyone has an hour to spare. The soundtrack was annoying to me because I've heard it too many times!! It was very loud and drowned out the narrator's voice. I turned the sound off but I could still hear the 'loud thumping' of the person's footsteps, so off came my headset. *Bugs* There is a bug towards the end of level 4. I entered the tunnel to pick up the secret in the cavern and I couldn't move to get it. There is also some sort of bug at the end. You just get a black screen and then can't exit out of the game. I used Esc but that didn't work. I had to Ctrl+Alt+Del out of the game, so not a good finish. Overall, I did enjoy the game because it was peaceful and there was plenty of eye candy. I was just disappointed that the lazy devs didn't source another soundtrack. There definitely needs to be a checkpoint in the middle of every level and the bugs need to be fixed. I don't have much hope that will ever happen. Interestingly, they are releasing a reimagined version of this game in June 2022. It looks like there is combat in it. I give this game a half-hearted recommendation. 6/10
95% positive reviews huh... This "game" is even worse than most school projects. I believe these positive reviews are mostly this guys friends or probably his alt accounts lol
After 15 minutes this game is already a HUGE no-no for me. These are the reasons: - my characters steps soun like a cartoon horse walking over gravel - no matter which sound options you change, the steps will always be there, louder than anything else. even completely turning off the sound with the master voluem will not get ridd of them - trying to change setting got the options screen for audio and graphics permanentely stuck on my screen, even going back to main menue didn't fix it. - the only content of this game is walking around, listening to weird audio files that don't really tell an interesting story, walking up to a door and then having to look for keys to open said door. There are WAY better walking sims out there, generally more polished games that are worth your money. this one isn't. Edit (after finishing the game): - one achievement is STILL bugged and this has been in other reviews and the discussions for AGES - the graphics are absolutely bugged in the last few levels, you regularly can see through the map, things won't load in/despawn or smth - the story is not really a redeeming factor of this game. it's a lot of drama with a bit of "i don't really remember" and a really unsatisfying ending -the story bits are weirdly spaced so that sometimes you go for really long distances without a story point and at other times you are spammed by them and have to wait for one audio to finsih before picking up the next - after finishing the last level i ended up stuck in an endless loading screen - playtime is ~2 hours
Very beautiful scene, and serenity music. Feels like a trip to country side. ------------------ Very unpolished. Bug on UI. Need better control for sound volume. Need manual save. etc. etc. ---------- Not much 'gameplay'. Basically just run around, and enjoy the scenario and music. --------- Probably worth at half price?
One Last Memory took me back to summertime and it's beautiful. It's November 6 and it's rainy autumn outside Thank you for the opportunity to walk on the sand and see the bright warm sun and look at the palm trees *tears of joy*
(*) Why can't Steam still make the review category "neutral"? Why only "recommend/unrecommend"? Dear Gabe please. (!) OLM has some shortcomings at the moment, which are related to optimizations and a few bugs. (+) That said, I really liked the level design in this game. It turned out to be an unusual mixture of cartoon and well-textured locations. There are also small tasks that are not boring to perform. (?) So tell me what grade I should choose under these factors? Recommend/non-recommend? My score is 5/10 but I can not put a negative mark because if you fix these problems - the game will be fun and cool.
A leisurely game with a simple research plot. Collecting control points , we carefully explore the secret places .We solve key tasks to achieve progress and raise the level. Graphics with a nice landscape pattern and a fun underground cave system.
I've found a few bugs. 😒 I experienced sluggishness at some points. On the level with the bridge, my fps went down 😢 I just decided to reinstall the game. Idk what it was, but now it works normally. I don't know if the developers had time to fix it, but on the other levels I experienced no problems. 😊 ❗️Just want the developers to know about it❗️
An absolutely laughable piece of junk. I really thought this was going to be a walking sim with a quaint story, and it's nothing like how it's described at all. I'm going to permanently remove this from my account. It's that bad.
