The WWI story where your goal isn’t to kill, but to survive. In the still trenches, three soldiers learn the harsh truth of war: reckless missions, digging trenches, collecting dog tags and ghostly whispers in the dark. Home before the leaves fall, they thought.

Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 1.43/day in the week to Aug 25 → 3/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 25 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 10 places towards #1, and the 2,413 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.
About
THE CARIBOU TRAIL - Home before the leaves fall, they thought.
Far from home, Fisher leaves his quiet harbor town in Newfoundland to join the British war effort with his friends. They expect a short-lived adventure full of tales to bring back home.
What awaits them is not glory, but dirt, loss… and a touch of madness. The quiet gestures that hold a regiment together, the impossible choices, the weight of survival and... well, dubious stews no one back home would dare to call edible.
The Caribou Trail is a visceral, first-person narrative experience about a band of friends sent on some of the most unlikely missions of the Great War.
Inspired by real testimonies, The Caribou Trail blends history with fiction to portray a rarely explored front of WWI: Gallipoli, from the landing to the final evacuation.
Cut through barbed wire in no man’s land on a desperate reconnaissance mission, silence a sniper holding the line, and make noise during a chaotic evacuation. Each step is experienced through your own eyes.
Yet this is not about winning the war, it’s about enduring it. Explore the back lines, feel the weight of anticipation, stumble through the trenches, reclaim the dog tags of fallen comrades, and share stories with those who still have the strength to speak. Sit by the fire, share ghostly tales (that may or may not be true), and find warmth around the campfire.
When the time comes, you may choose to pull the trigger… or not. Every gesture brings you closer to the men who laugh beside you… and fall before you.
There is no score. No kill count. Only resilience, fleeting friendship, and the fragile hope of making it home.
War may take everything, but it also builds bonds.
You and your companions are not hardened soldiers, but ordinary men: fishermen, dreamers, storytellers; cooking fish’n’brews in battered pots, laughing at bad jokes, and clinging to one another when silence grows too heavy.
In the chaos, these small rituals become lifelines - reminders of who you are, and of who's fighting alongside you. What begins as survival becomes brotherhood, etched into memory long after the guns fall silent.
Gordon - Insufferable and lovable. Always the center of attention. He'll crack a joke or roast you at the worst moment possible, but he'll be there for you no matter what.
Lonnie - A whimsical, dreamy kid who doesn't belong, but still strives to do his best. What he lacks in military prowess, he compensates with his warmth and spirit. He'll even share a good spooky story or two to change the mood…
Fisher - You are the middle brother, constantly defusing (or participating in) Gordo and Lon's bickering. In the face of the war's horrors, you define Fisher's willingness to see things as they are, or instead delve into superstitious escapism.
These are the faces you will remember long after Gallipoli.
When night falls, the line between reality and imagination blurs.
Are the shadows in the trenches just tricks of the firelight, or spirits drawn to the living? In The Caribou Trail, folklore and psychological horror intertwine, echoing how soldiers made sense of a world that no longer did.
What you find may not change history, but it might change you.

As a lover of history and narrative driven games I feel like the targeted audience for this game, unfortunately it feels like a miss in every sense. The major issue being how short the game is and how little it actually handles history. I cried at a certain point. This sets the standard for what video games depicting historical events should be. Everyone who worked on this did an incredible job.
Disappointment is the perfect word to describe this game. It consists of several hours of walking, and thats it. If you, like me, were expecting an engaging, perhaps dramatic story - forget about it. Instead, you get some semi-mystical nonsense about... ghosts. The war itself feels completely absent, serving merely as a backdrop. It's just three friends who sailed somewhere in Turkey, running through monotonous tunnels. Its definitely not for me.
Very interesting narrative driven title! The Caribou Trail is a game set during the Gallipoli Campaign, where the main protagonist is an enlisted new recruit in the Canadian Royal Newfoundland Regiment. The care for historical detail is there, with the game crafting a realistic atmosphere filled with hopes and fears of the young soldiers who fought during the second world war. The story is memorable, with an artistic style that makes the game stand out from other titles set during the great war. The Caribou Trail may be a fairly short experience, 3-4 hours long, but one hard to forget.
Everything about this game, from the soundtrack to the little details found on the walls of the trenches tell a story. A story of three boys thrust into a war that they new little about, a story about three friends trying their best to survive, and a lesson about moving on past ones grief in order to live a life worth living.
A fairly short, though not overly informative game about WW1, but it covers a pretty unusual setting for that era, the Battle of Gallipoli. You don't really see it anywhere else except for Battlefield 1 and soon another multiplayer game based on Gallipoli, which is Gallipoli by BlackMill Games. Even though I occasionally felt like I was playing 11-11 Memories Retold again which in my opinion is the most similar game to The Caribou Trail, but the differences actually outweigh the similarities, and it really is its own unique title. As you can tell from the screenshots on the store page, it's a first person game, but it's not a shooter. It's more of a walking simulator, and there aren't even many quick time events, which I honestly expected given the screenshots on the page. The game looks beautiful with its art style, a sort of plastic or ceramic look to the characters, objects, and environment. But it looks best as evening approaches; the sunset is just gorgeous. We probably all know the story of Gallipoli by now, but the way the game handles it is that the soldiers land, everything seems calm, except for specific situations like bombings or a Turkish sniper threatening the whole trench. The ending involves preparing a surprise for the Turks in the form of an abandoned trench, with the main character getting help from the ghost of his fallen buddy who got taken out by the sniper. I have to say, though, there are a few drawbacks, like the inability to skip certain dialogue lines and the uncertainty of where to go, since the map the game gives you doesn't tell you everything. Still, I enjoyed the game and walked away with a good feeling.
ay, b'y as the son of a newfie its nice to see the island get some love and their story out there.
GREAT GAME OVERALL!! The storylines great, super immersive, and just really fun in general! although it only provides about 4ish hours of gameplay. :(
