Twin Cobra

Версия классического вертикального шутера с аркадных автоматов. Когда то давно, давно, эту игру я смог попробовать только на 8ми битной консоли. Конечно графика была там очень упрощенной, да иесли мне не изменяет память, текстуры были однотипными, как и уровни, тем не менее удовольствие от процесса было классным. Спустя какое то время я попробовал Twin Bee уже на МегаДрайве, и там было все поинтереснее, и графика, и выбор оружия, и прочие фишки, однако, игра стала в разы проще. И теперь, вот буквально недавно мне довелось потрогать вот этот порт с аркадных автоматов. Все как и должно быть. Хорошая графика, сложный и не прощающий ошибок процесс. Вообщем любителям классики или же просто любителям вертикальных шутеров - Мастхэв. Могу дополнить, что, этот порт дополнен всякими функциями в виде настраиваемых сложностей, ассистента. Можно жизни вроде накрутить, и вообщем вот такие вот приятные мелочи, которые позволяют игре быть снисходительнее к современному и оказуаленному игроку. Поэтому - берите и играйте. Игра хорошая.

Solid port, multiple ROM variations, dipswitch options, QoL settings, leaderboards, etc. Doesn't pop open the hood to show you what's going on in the engine the way an M2 STG release does, but Bitwave did a nice job with this. As far as the game itself goes, it would be a Raiden clone except Raiden didn't exist yet. One of the seminal shmups that's been copied and iterated on so many times it's easy to forget that the Tiger and Shark games did it first. And better in most ways, I think.

ワイドタイガーのタイトルのヘリの降りてくる位置から始まり、 アイテムに追いつけない自機の遅さや、空中の敵が左寄りに出現、今にも止まっちゃいそうな離陸時のエンジン音、 極めつけは、クリア時のヘリの着船位置... 最高に笑わせて頂いたものだったが、アップデートで台無し。 移動速度だけノロいまんま。大型空中敵は変わらず左寄りに出現。 これ、アップデートした人、 本気ですか？ 通常に支障きたすくらいならワイドモード削って、 まともにシテクダサイ。

This game should be rated AO. If you grew up with classic shmups like this in the 80s and 90s, with their sniper enemies and emphasis on learning sections before you can get past them, you'll feel right at home. If you're under 35 and/or have only ever experienced modern bullet hell shooters like Touhou, there's nothing good to be had from playing this. I love this game (although I mainly play the M2STG version on PS4 instead), but I wouldn't recommend this to most people.

オプションが豊富で素晴らしい。 早送り スロー 巻き戻し どこでもセーブ ボタンコンフィグ 当たり判定の可視化 当たり判定の縮小化 ＢＧＭのオンオフ ブラウン管の見た目再現 難易度急上昇な横スクロール無しまで 不満はメニューからセーブした時になんのリアクションも無い事。成功したのか分かんねえよ・・ このデペロッパーにイメージファイト、雷電、雷電２、怒首領蜂を出して欲しいな・・まぁ無理かｗ

This game was never built to be fun, it was built to take quarters from kids. Even with "unlimited quarters" it's infuriating to play.

Interesting shmup but far from the toaplan best and a moderate recommendation for shmups lovers. The game shows it´s age. It is a really simple and basic shmup, but probably you won´t find much better in the genre than this if you aprecciate those charactheristics. the bullet patterns are basic. The enemyes aims at you few, but very fast bullets with big precision. The enemy variety is small and the game gets a bit repetitive and could have been more compact. There are 2 versions of the game (usa and japanese). i strongly recommend usa version has it is more easy because when you die you continue in the same place instead goig back to a chekcpoint. The difficulty is arcade level, as these games were made to steal quarters. There are 2 buttons a bomb and a shoot. there are powerups for speed and for a few different types of shoot. The visual clarity is ok but i wished that the bullets blended more with some of the backgrounds. Now let´s talk about the port. there were problems in the beggining but most were patched. Bitwave add acessibility options that you won´t find in emulation and add quality for this game. You can change the hitbox to small, have a autofire button. i do wished to have a option change bullet colors for better visibility. The price is good considering the quality work of bitwave.

A well made port of Toaplan's classic vertical arcade shooter. I am particularly impressed by the inclusion of TATE mode and a nice CRT filter!
