Estimated reading time: 3 minutes Tribloos is a series of well done time management games. In each level, you will need to perform certain actions (gather resources and use them to build various production units or to increase the number of workers) under a certain time limit. The trick is to find the optimal succession of actions so that you meet the level requirements until your time runs out. These kind of games are good for developing a logic and strategic thinking and also teaching the players to plan ahead and calculate how many of each resources are needed and for what. I haven't had a chance to play the first game in the Tribloos series, but the other two installments that are currently available on Steam are very similar in what concerns the gameplay and mechanics, therefore if you enjoyed Tribloos 2, then you will probably like this one too. It is also pretty difficult to say which one is better, since each of them have some special characteristics that the other one does not have. Tribloos 3's artwork is slightly better, not only in terms of character design and sprites, but also because the static comic panels unraveling the story are now replaced with animated cutscenes. However, same as in Tribloos 2, most of the story is still told at the beginning of each level through very funny and witty character dialogues. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1442888100 This time, the tribe of furry creatures is attacked by a swarm of angry birds. They come up with a successful plan to chase the birds away, but in return the birds kidnap one of the tribloos. In order to save their friend, they split into three search groups that will scout the waters, the land and the air for their missing pal. In their adventures, they will meet new allies and invent all sorts of comical contraptions to escape the birds' traps. The game is split into several acts, each of them containing one or more level areas with specific design and buildings. While it's possible to switch from an area to another, it's much better if you go through levels sequentially, to avoid spoilers. The complexity and difficulty of each area increases with each level, but overall, the areas have pretty much the same average difficulty. One thing to note is the nice and friendly tutorial which not only teaches the player the basic mechanics, but also gives subtle hints on the optimal order of actions and these hints are not restricted to the first few levels only, but they appear also in later levels. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1442887987 The game's hud has also been redesigned, leaving more space in the middle of the screen. However, the counters for the objectives have been replaced with a vertical progress bar. On the one hand, this represents a quantitative visual indicator, but on the other hand it makes it pretty hard to estimate how many items from a certain type you are still required to gather, in case of high amounts. Tribloos 2 and Tribloos 3 have a special charm that is hard to describe in words; both tick a lot of boxes and belong to the good side of time management games. I would recommend picking up both if you have the means to do so, but please keep in mind that they're pretty addictive and have a enough content to keep you glued to the screen for 10-15 hours. Both games also offer achievements for milestones that you reach naturally during a gameplay. The time limit influences your final score, but there are no requirements to obtain 3 stars in each level. The games are meant to give you something to think about, without rushing you into finding the right solution.
Tribloos 3
Tribloos 3 is a really enjoyable, and relaxing, time management game. I finally finished game with 100% achievements, sadly they wont count as steam is still learning about this game. No matter what steam says I thoroughly enjoyed my time playing and completing this game 100%.
Enter the world of Tribloos 3: Join Trey Our Hero and the gang of tribloos as he tries to save Brainy from their enemy and an army of birds. Manage your tribloos time to collect resources as you build up the tribloos community with more workers to share the work. It is a time and resource management game with a dash of puzzles sprinkled in. Work your way through 101 levels of tribloos fun. Assign your tribloos to work together or separately as you build up your resources to build each level to earn your way to the next level. Build forges, sawmills and other workstations to complete each level. You will play across many different biomes, from land to sea to the sky; battle against time and those evil birds that scare your tribloos back into hiding. Tribloos 3 is the third release on Steam by developer, BumpkinBrothers, and is self-published. Released in April 2018, it is a casual, action, indie title. It has beautiful hand-drawn graphics and a 45 minute original soundtrack. It also has 40 achievements (for you achievement hunters out there). The previous game in the series, Tribloos 2, has a 91% positive review rate, and you can expect this title to be even better than that! This release only has a few reviews currently, and under Steam’s new learning regulations, card drops and achievements will be limited for the time being. It shouldn’t take too long for the discovery period to be over, and everything will work as expected. Tribloos 3 is a fun, casual time-management game. The puzzles in the game are not overpowering to the gameplay. If you are looking for a good casual title, this one is great! The gameplay is explained at the start of each level by the tribloos discussions, so pay attention to them! If you find you cannot complete a level, just restart and try again. There are not many settings for the game; you can customize the audio portions of the title, and you can choose to go full screen or windowed. There are no resolution settings; the game will automatically detect your resolution and load. It is also multi-user capable and you can set up personal profiles for other family members to play and not mess up your game saves. I have had a lot of fun playing Tribloos 3. It is relaxing and not that difficult for the average player to master. As the gameplay is run by mouse clicks only, keyboard usage is not needed. Just click where you want your workers to be and assign how many to use for each task at hand. The hand-drawn artwork is done with great care (it is one of my passions, collecting games with great visual artistry). There are also 21 story-based cutscenes to help tell the Tribloos story. It runs on both PC and Mac operating systems, and has two languages available, English and German. It would be nice if they would continue adding additional languages for the many other people around the world who do not speak or read these two. Now it is up to you . . . can you save Brainy and bring peace once again to the world of the Tribloos? 8/10 Tribloos 3: A Splendid Casual Time Management Game Pros +Beautifully Hand-Drawn Graphics +Steam Trading Cards +Steam Achievements +Great Priceline Cons - I have No Complaints :D
Key provided by developer/publisher for review purposes. Got the game for free as I've given the developer constructive feedback on Tribloos 2. Well now, as for the review, Tribloos 3 is a nice strategic game in which you have to complete levels by building houses, sawmills, collecting ressources, etc. The game is good for both casuals and people who are more experienced with games a-like, as you cannot run out of time (It's only there for ratings) but also, getting a golden time for the level can prove challenging! The music and sound effects are as good as the second game, there's many new tracks and from what I've played so far, I love what I'm hearing! They even voiced the characters now with cute little sounds when they talk. The artwork is different than the first, I prefered the second game's artwork personally, but the backgrounds in this one are better, so it's really up to the player for this aspect of the game. I'm looking forward to completing the game and all the achievements as I did with the second installement of this game and I will try to update my review the best I can as I do so! Oh and lastly, at the current price, the game seems to have even more level than The Tribloos 2 and I've spent over 10 hours on it... So, totally worth it! Even more so if you liked the previous game as it's an improved version with all new levels pretty much.
Fazit: kaufen, kaufen, kaufen!
Top time management game. Simple graphics and music don't get at all in the way of good level design, which is nice and varied even accross all 101 levels. New gameplay mechanics added on each stage that keep things fresh. A perfect time sink for those 10 minute gaps that need filling.
O jogo é muito bem feito, a música é realmente ótima e os gráficos são um pouquinho infantis para o meu gosto, mas são fofos mesmo assim! Recomendo!
The game is well done, the music is really great and the graphics are a bit childish to my taste but they are cute nonetheless!
A great game with a lot of charm. Highly recommended for both casual and hardcore fans of strategy.
This game is a fantastic puzzle game that you will fall in love with. It's family friendly and the art style and puzzles entice you to play more. You get a certain sense that a lot of love and time have been put into this wonderful indie adventure. Also for the price is a real bargain and an Ideal gift for all the family and friends. I hope the developers continue to bring us such wonderful and joyful games. STOP reading now and go BUY !!! You will not be disappointed
