She Ricardo on my Stripe until I Squonk. This game's music and dialogue kept me engaged, but they also have grapple hook. The movement mechanics are fun to mess around with on their own, and the game let's you be creative with how to progress if you push those mechanics to their limit. The game is short and sweet for now (5 - 10 hours depending on platforming ability + collectibles), but the level editor has a ton of depth and the developer said the game may nearly triple in length upon full release.
Hey would you look at that. My first review on steam! Buy this game! It might be taking mechanics from other precision platformers, but it combines them in a unique way. I love grapplehooks in games and Trash Bandits nailed it with intuitive physics and smooth controls. Plus mixing many other cool movement abilities on top, so gameplay does not get stale. And most importantly, level editor! It seems to be comfortable and intuitive in navigation, and versitile enough make actually interesting stuff in it. I see huge creative potential in it. All levels can be shared through steam workshop! There are moments of really awkward level design in the story mode unfortunately, but they were rare. Music is a vibe, but can get quite repetative, there is only like... a couple of tracks in the game. Those are two only complaints i have so far.
This game is a great play for anyone who likes 2D Platformers. It's funny, unique, and has a great difficulty to make it appeal to any player. A must play
Fun game!! The game itself is a good challenge....getting used to the movement, the physics behind the grappling hooks and all the extras like collecting coins, food cans etc...took a little getting used to. I got a grade of D on my first attempt lol but am improving quickly. Then their is Ricky and the other animal characters working "together" that just adds a whole other fun element. Their bantor is witty and hilarious. Can't wait until the full version comes out!
My name is GrimSpleefer, creator of the critically acclaimed spin to win custom map, and this is my favorite game on steam. I feel like a true gamer after completing the no orange challenge.
Fun platforming and a casual hotel management. The plot revolves around a group of animals that resolve to collect all the rubbish they can get their claws on and establish a hotel. You take control of the main character, a raccoon thief with a few useful abilities. The raccoon is quite agile and can wall-jump any straight surface. He can also grab onto a wall and slowly descend, but climbing up will cause him to lose his grip due to limited stamina. However, the most crucial gear is a grapple, which allows him to grab hooks across a stage. The only restriction is that the raccoon must touch the ground before attempting to grapple again. Stages are selected using the hub's computer. They are unlocked as you move through the game, so you cannot select which one you want to play. However, you can always revisit it for a higher grade. This is completely unnecessary, and it is mostly intended for those who prefer speed running. Visuals aren’t very exciting because everything takes place on a dumpsite. Stages add mechanics such as slippery walls and moving platforms, but the landscape stays the same. Despite the fact that the game is a precision platformer, the difficulty is moderate. There are still traps and water that kill you quickly, but the game saves every time you move to a new screen. Because a level is made up of multiple screens, you never feel like you're wasting time solving a problem. Respawn might be faster, but it is fine. Also, anything you collect becomes yours as you grab it and touch the ground. If you keep dying at a certain challenge, you will receive help, but you’ll have to pay with trash. While the main goal is to find an item, you should also collect as much trash as possible. It is commonly found along the main path, however some are buried behind walls or in difficult-to-reach locations. Collected trash is turned into money that is used to buy stuff for your hotel. The hotel is not available right away. If you don’t stick with the game and go through around 10 stages, you might not even see it. However, it’s very basic and not that big of a deal. You simply buy weird types of bed such as mailbox or butter, place them on designated spots, and then collect rent after you complete a stage. There are a few trinkets on each stage that entice you to return. This can be seen on the stage select menu. Some of them are new items for your hotel and fishing places where you can catch "fish".
Started playing on an older laptop and had some performance issues. When I switched to my newer laptop the issues all went away. That being said found this game to be a super good mix of platforming and puzzle. You have the flexibility to emphasize one over the other however you are rewarded for speed, not dying as much and finding items. There are different methods to complete the level but the game is very forgiving I think you get unlimited lives and you are rewarded for taking risks. Overall I really like this game, the characters and their funny dialogue. The grappling hooks are awesome!!!
The greatest game I have ever played.
Trash Bandits is a delightful indie gem that masterfully combines puzzle platforming with hotel management. Its engaging gameplay, charming visuals, and robust customization options make it a standout title in the indie game scene. Whether you're a fan of fast-paced action, strategic planning, or creative level design, Trash Bandits has something for everyone. Don't miss out on this quirky and captivating adventure in the trash-laden streets of Grove City.
Fun game so far! the first few levels were a lot of fun, the movement took a little getting used to coming from other platformers, but nothing is prohibitively weird or difficult. Excited to play more of this soon :)
