I bought this game because I love Bastion. This game is not Bastion. I don't have any strong opinions of this game, I just never really enjoyed its combat. Other than that, it's just weird.
Transistor is a stylish sci-fi action RPG that feels like a mystery you play through rather than just a world you visit. You wake up in a gleaming city that’s falling apart, holding a talking weapon, and the game immediately hooks you with mood, restraint, and curiosity instead of exposition dumps. The story is personal and intimate: you’re not saving the universe, you’re trying to understand what was taken from you and why the city is being erased. Dialogue is sparse but purposeful, and the relationship between the protagonist and the voice in the weapon carries a lot of emotional weight without overexplaining itself. Combat blends real-time movement with a tactical “pause and plan” system. You can freeze the action, queue up a short sequence of moves, then watch it execute in a burst—so every fight becomes a mix of quick reactions and small, deliberate gambles about positioning and timing. Build crafting is the real playground. Abilities can be equipped as active skills, passive modifiers, or upgrades for other skills, so a single power can behave completely differently depending on how you slot it. Experimenting is encouraged, and switching builds never feels like you’re locked into a mistake. The pacing is clean and focused: compact areas, purposeful encounters, and just enough optional fights to let you test new setups. It’s not a loot treadmill, and it doesn’t try to be endlessly replayable in the usual way; it’s a curated experience that respects your time. Presentation is outstanding. The art direction sells the city’s sterile beauty and quiet decay, and the soundtrack is a constant companion—melancholic, sharp, and memorable, with vocals that land at key moments instead of constantly competing for attention. If you like games that prioritize atmosphere, tight mechanics, and meaningful customization over sheer size, Transistor is easy to recommend. If you want sprawling exploration, tons of side quests, or an open-ended endgame, it may feel too contained—but what’s there is polished, cohesive, and emotionally resonant.
don't forget to get the pizza at home 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
Transistor me encantó, simple y llanamente.
Obrigado, Supergiant Games
