This is a pretty awesome old school point and click adventure game in a futuristic sci fi world. The voice acting is great and the pixel art is very nice, everything about this is decent quality. I loved the story as well, it was interesting and I'm glad I played this game. I got stuck a few times though, there are some hard parts or at least for me there were some. Thankfully there are walkthroughs out there if you need them and are totally stuck.
Many of the puzzles are regrettably a bit insane (and by "a bit" I mean "completely"), but just look up any solutions needed along the way. If you can get past that annoyance, you'll be rewarded with a story that is just [chef's kiss]. Magnificent.
Technobabylon ended up being one of those games that I didn’t expect to last this long, yet at no point did it feel like the game or plot was dragging, even across 12+ hours. I don’t want to spoil the story itself, but the writing is genuinely excellent. The voice acting is great across the board, but the soundtrack is what really tied everything together for me. So many scenes land perfectly because the music fits the mood so well. It could just be me since I’m a sucker for synth/EDM music and simple drone-like tracks :) The characters feel like actual people with histories and motivations instead of existing just to hand you an item or block a hallway until a puzzle gets solved. Everyone feels like they belong in the world. Puzzle-wise, the game does a really good job guiding you without shoving obvious hints in your face. Almost every solution felt logical and fair. It was only near the very end where I got completely “wrenched” and stuck on a puzzle that required combining multiple characters, quick timing, and using items in a way the game had never really asked of you before. I did feel like the game foreshadows the main reveal a bit too heavily halfway through, so the ending lost a little of that huge final payoff for me. Even so, this is still a fantastic cyberpunk adventure with memorable writing, atmosphere, and likable characters that actually feel like they have chemistry with one another.
Interesting and unusual story in a high-tech future setting. As with other Wadjet games, nice voice acting as well. One QOL feature I found myself wishing for was some way of highlighting the interactive spots, but that was not a major problem since most of the scenes didn't have too many possibilities. If you like adventure games, you will probably like this one. Recommended 7.5/10.
Great adventure, and story. Not too difficult so you can enjoy the ride.
It was on my pile of shame for a very long time. But I really recommend this game to anyone, who likes a SciFi setup and a pretty good story. I liked it a lot.
I enjoyed the game until it got ruined by a necessary gravball game in the trance which is impossible to control using the mouse. Ended up uninstalling this game, and am not recommending it.
Yeah!
Technobabylon is a really well produced point n click. The VA, art and music are great and the puzzles are mostly satisfying. A couple needed some more direction to show you how to interact with mechanics I didn't realise you could. It really nails the cyberpunk vibe in a more grounded and believable way than some games, which I liked. Not Wadjet Eye's best but definietly worth playing
Clearly not for me
